They have a lot of different areas they support, so having one company to wear all the hats needed. **What do you dislike about Encompass?** I think they could be more clear on when problems arise on their end and communicating that out to customers. The integration with BBCRM is not where it needs to be. **What problems is Encompass solving and how is that benefiting you?** They are out main email marketing tool and we use them for website, giving forms, events, and all other form needs. ### 2. I do like being able to manually adjust things, however a simpler layout would be great. **What do you dislike about Encompass?** I find a new glitch every time I use it. Not user friendly. It reminds me of something you would see around the turn of the millenia. I have lost so many hours of work due to glitches, or having to manually adjust everything. You can do something one way one time, and have to do it differently the next time. **What problems is Encompass solving and how is that benefiting you?** We duplicate a newsletter in iModules as a requirement. I would use other software if I could. ### 3. It's too complex. I have used SEVERAL platforms in my career and imodules is the most complex, most Non user-friendly platform I've ever used. I guess the only thing I liked about the platform at the time was that it did the job. And I worked in the fundraising arm of a college, so I guess it helped raise money. However, the platforms I used afterward at the place I was working worked A MILLION TIMES BETTER. Much more user-friendly, much more customizable. It was a dream. **What do you dislike about Encompass?** I honestly do not like this platform. It's too complex. I have used SEVERAL platforms in my career and imodules is the most complex, most Non user-friendly platform I've ever used. **What problems is Encompass solving and how is that benefiting you?** Not solving any problems, it creates problems. Also pretty good for web design. We use it for most of our internal giving site pages and it's very easy for design. It's also very easy to integrate with our CRM ellucian advance and can update records in the system when constituents make edits or updates. **What do you dislike about Encompass?** The console and user interface can be a big clunky and slow. Overall pretty good though. It does everything, but isn’t exceptional in any category. The user interface can also be a bit difficult to navigate. Overall the benefits outweigh the drawbacks but there it certainly room of improvement. **Recommendations to others considering Encompass:** For those considering iModules it's definitely worth exploring it as an opportunity. Again, it does everything but isn't exceptional in any category. The ability to process payments, use convenient web design, and send mass emails with design flexibility are also wonderful features. **What problems is Encompass solving and how is that benefiting you?** iModules is primarily how we send mass emails to our constituency database. The flexibility is great. We also use it for web design for all of our forward facing giving pages. It's great that we can process payments and pledges through the system and then get digest emails with all of the details. ### 5. I love the ability to customize our event registrations and use role based content. **What do you dislike about Encompass?** It is a little bit more time consuming to set up a new event than it was on our old platform. Setting things up on the backend feels a little more technical, but the end result is much more attractive and consumer friendly. **What problems is Encompass solving and how is that benefiting you?** Better event tracking and ease of registration. Encompass Events adapt easily to mobile and allow for quick and easy registration. ### 6. I export a lot of reports and then have to spend even more time editing each report. **What problems is Encompass solving and how is that benefiting you?** This is the system we use for all of our events and online giving. ### 7. They also provide great resources/customer support. **What do you dislike about Encompass?** A lot of the products and services as well as training opportunities come at an additional cost. It is good to make the investment in this additional training but can be hard to identify the right timing with staff turnover (at our institution) over the years. **Recommendations to others considering Encompass:** Invest in the initial training for your employees to ensure you're using the platform to its fullest potential. **What problems is Encompass solving and how is that benefiting you?** Our institution uses iModules/Encompass to streamline our online event calendar, event registration and email marketing. This past year we worked with the iModules design team to redesign our online community and event pages, resulting in a cohesive brand that matches the university's visual identity. We also worked with iModules to create a custom e-newsletter template and launched a new alumni e-newsletter, now sent quarterly to over 30,000 constituents. We've seen a remarkable increase in alumni profile updates - resulting in better data, improved outreach and more meaningful relationships with our alumni. ### 8. Their user conference is outstanding and invaluable for learning new tips and tricks, as well as meeting other users and staff. **What do you dislike about Encompass?** Every other week there seems to be an issue that they're working on updating. **Recommendations to others considering Encompass:** Even if you do research, you'll still probably arrive at Encompass/iModules. They're a leader in the industry, plain and simple. **What problems is Encompass solving and how is that benefiting you?** We use the platform for email marketing, event registration, fundraising, etc. It's really a one stop shop for us aside from our alumni database and reporting tools. ### 11. It makes it easier when everything is working together. **What do you dislike about Encompass?** Having to create a new email template to send out reoccurring emails. There isn't a way to reuse an email and send it out to reoccur. You would have to copy and paste the html into a new reoccurring email template and schedule it to reoccur. **What problems is Encompass solving and how is that benefiting you?** All of the contacts for emails communicate with our records so you can search different types of information and filter who you would like your emails to go to. Being able to filter down through our list of contacts is important when dealing with targeting members only, or alum from a particular college, etc. You can continue to dive down through the information to get exactly what you need. ### 12. I love the versatility of the tool and the ability for admins to exercise control over many parts as deep as you wish. It is a reliable company with an amazing support staff and account managers who are always available to assist and provide extensive examples of best practices in uncertain situations. As a new user, coming up to speed was super easy thanks to the online education center. **What do you dislike about Encompass?** I wish the admin dashboard was more modern and not so cumbersome. It is outdated in the look and function take several steps to set up, whereas competitors like WordPress have a more clear and streamlined process for setting up content. This was not true maybe a year ago, but over the last several months there has been a lot of downtime in the system which sometimes mean down time in the system. **Recommendations to others considering Encompass:** Invest in setting it up properly and entirely the first time around. Take the time to explore all of its capabilities and implement it properly. It is a big investment and it is worth it if done properly. **What problems is Encompass solving and how is that benefiting you?** We are looking to provide alumni with one-stop-shop experience for all of their needs. iModules is known to be a multi-tasking tool that does that for several hundred institutions and does it well. ### 13. It is a powerful and useful tool for any alumni relations office. As a leader in its field, iModules is becoming the standard -- and with good reason. The company supports users and listens to customer feedback, even if it does take longer than we would like for them to add new features. **What do you dislike about Encompass?** Sometimes iModules can be "behind the times" when it comes to technology, responding to events or user requests instead of anticipating them. For example, email reporting was only recently improved, but users still cannot A/B test subject lines. **What problems is Encompass solving and how is that benefiting you?** We needed all of our information -- alumni data, forms, web, etc. in one place. ### 16.
