"High-Res, Low-Latency Rendering with Fast Human Support."
4.5/5
What do you like best about Anam?

Full high-res rendering with low latency. My business covers some pretty serious topics related to mental health and homicide, and it’s worth calling that out because this space is still pretty new. As a result, you can easily find yourself getting stuck in content review queues.

I’m not against content moderation, but most of Anam’s competitors try to automate it, and that doesn’t work for my organization. We’re responsible for training frontline responders at a federal level, and I don’t have 10 days to explain my use case to AI. With Anam, I can reach a real person immediately, and we get issues resolved quickly. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Anam?

Concurrency limits but be aware that they have a lot of compute per avatar vs just mouth and eyes. It's now apples to apples if you don't look at the details. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Easy integration with LiveKit, smooth and low latency video feed"
5/5
What do you like best about Anam?

It was very easy to integrate an avatar into our application. There’s a large selection of faces to choose from, and we can also generate an avatar from our own uploads. The newer Cara-4 model is noticeably better at animation and at conveying emotion. Latency and smoothness of the video have been very consistent. Support has been responsive, and we feel the price is reasonable for what we’re getting. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Anam?

It’s not clear what the pricing and concurrency limits are once you go above 5,000 minutes per month; it looks like that falls under custom enterprise contracts. Also, the per-minute overage rate generally seems to work out much cheaper than the minutes included in the package price. The "Personas" interface in on the UI does not directly match how the avatars are configured through the API/SDK. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Intuitive Experience with Impressive Custom Personas"
5/5
What do you like best about Anam?

I love how intuitive it is. I don't feel the need to go read the documents in order to understand how to use it. I love how many personas there are to choose from and the one I custom build was incredibly well done. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Anam?

I'm not able to add the background that I want for the Avatar so I'm limited in how I can present it to the customer. The backgrounds aren't that great. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

Response from Grace Kennedy of Anam

Hi Roxana, thank you so much for the thoughtful review, and for building your own custom avatar with us.

On backgrounds: you actually have more control here than the current setup may show. From the avatar view, click the three dots and select Create Variant - that lets you customize the background rather than being limited to the presets. If that doesn't get you to the look you need for client-facing presentations, we'd like to hear more about what you're going for so we can help directly.

"Anam: Customizable Avatars with Seamless Setup"
4.5/5
What do you like best about Anam?

I like that Anam lets me create a custom avatar that users can interact with, showing them the possibilities and evolution of conversational AI. The ability to program the avatar and customize it extensively is a big plus. I also appreciate how Anam flows smoothly in conversation and allows me to switch between different models and voices, giving me a lot of access to different options to build precisely what I envision. The setup was really easy, thanks to my AI agents managing it, and there hasn't been any need to move to another product since I like Anam so much. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Anam?

I guess, having built-in connectors would be good. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Realistic AI Avatars and Flexible One-Shot Generation"
4/5
What do you like best about Anam?

I really like how realistic the AI Avatars are, and I also appreciate having the option to generate my own one-shot avatars. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Anam?

The technical support sometimes doesn’t respond to requests in reasonable time, both via the support form and via the Slack channel. I would really appreciate getting a reply, whether it’s an estimate of when the issue will be handled, or at least an update on whether they are working on it or not.

I’d also appreciate it if their integration with ElevenLabs worked better. We had to come up with a lot of workarounds to make it possible to use WebRTC with WebSocket. For some requests, we received very AI-like answers that didn’t help us.

That said, we didn’t only have bad experiences. There were other cases where they were very fast in helping us. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Seamless Avatar Integration, Great Support"
4/5
What do you like best about Anam?

I think Anam is filling in the gaps for us nicely, and the process has been smooth. The avatars have low latency and, although they're not at total parity with humans, they work well enough for our needs. It's easy to integrate on the back end, my developers enjoyed working with it, and we've had plenty of support. The performance is good, and the customer experience is quite satisfactory. The initial setup was pretty easy too, with no real issues. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Anam?

I tried making some custom avatars, but the prompts for these have to be done directly in Anam. We only use it as an OEM product for the video, and the prompting is governed inside our own platform. Unfortunately, we're unable to influence the avatar from our system, which means we have to go into Anam to build the prompts each time. I think there needs to be more varied out of the box avatars representing certain roles, like a doctor, engineer etc. They're very generic right now and appear to just be sitting on a sofa or something. Also the concurrency is such an unknown, it makes picking a plan quite difficult Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Real-time, expressive avatars with near-zero lag"
5/5
What do you like best about Anam?

The real-time performance is what stood out most for us. We use Anam's avatars as the on-camera personas for a live AI streaming product, so latency and lip-sync are everything, and the avatars respond conversationally with almost no lag while staying expressive and natural on screen for long sessions. The API was straightforward to integrate and the personas held up well in front of a live audience. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Anam?

Honestly not much to complain about for our use case. If anything, we would love an even larger library of prebuilt avatar looks and a few more fine-grained controls over expressions, and the docs were a little thin in a couple of spots early on. None of it slowed us down in any meaningful way. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Impressive Video Avatars, Easy Setup, Minor Latency Issues"
4.5/5
What do you like best about Anam?

I love how easy Anam is to navigate and install. The platform's simplicity makes setup a breeze. The quality of their latest models is quite amazing, offering motion and emotion that enhances user interaction. The visual representation of the models provides a more in-depth experience, making interactions with the desktop application richer. My team’s experience with the installation was flawless because the documentation was easy to follow and everything worked perfectly the first time, which was impressive. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Anam?

I think if I had to be critical, there are still some latency issues going on with Anam. Not all the time, but enough to notice. Also, there are some twitches that I'm sure are just polishing configurations. So if I had to be critical, and you're asking me to be, that would be it. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Realistic Avatars, Effortless Integration with LiveKit"
4/5
What do you like best about Anam?

I like that Anam integrates with LiveKit, which makes it super easy for me to use since it fits well with the rest of my stack. Anam is also one of the best in the industry when it comes to realism, making the video avatars feel very real and helping to avoid the uncanny valley. The setup was very easy too, as it simply involved adding Anam as a plugin to LiveKit. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Anam?

I find it a bit frustrating that when I'm using Anam directly or through LiveKit, the pricing is the same. When I use it through LiveKit, I'm already paying for my TTS, STT, and LLM costs to those providers, and only using Anam for video generation. Even with that, the pricing is the same as if I were going directly to them and they were handling TTS, STT, and LLM. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Outstanding Quality but Needs Faster API"
4/5
What do you like best about Anam?

I like Anam for the high quality of the latest model; the image quality and avatar movements are really impressive. Other products in the market don't yet offer this same level of quality, which makes Anam stand out. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Anam?

Anam is a bit on the expensive side and I'm also noticing some delays when I'm creating a new avatar through the API. It's happening more often now, and I had to adjust my timeout settings to accommodate it. Additionally, switching between my two accounts was a bit tricky during the initial setup.
