## Altium Develop Reviews
  ### 1. Altium Evaluation

**Rating:** 3.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Franck E. | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** May 15, 2024

**What do you like best about Altium Develop?**

The possibility during PCB design to route the boards very precisely and the ability to view the design in 3D to get a preview of the shape of the packaging one wishes to use.

**What do you dislike about Altium Develop?**

That we cannot do the autorouting of the map with our specifications and not in random ways. Also, do not display the height of the components when deciding to switch to 3D.

**What problems is Altium Develop solving and how is that benefiting you?**

The possibility of viewing the map in 3D to anticipate the shape of the packaging that will be suitable for transport and easy handling.

  ### 2. Valispace creates a true single source of truth to keep my team and our partners on the same page

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Aviation & Aerospace | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** April 11, 2024

**What do you like best about Altium Develop?**

Valispace has an intiutiive system in place for linking requirements, components, analysis, and verification together, and it exists live in a web browser that lets me and my whole team look at and work on the same thing at the same time. The best thing about them, though, is their amazing customer service that responds blazingly fast whenever I have issues or comments.

**What do you dislike about Altium Develop?**

Vlispace can take a bit of time to administer. It is also not the most flexible tool around, there are limitations in what kind of columns can be created to represent data.

**What problems is Altium Develop solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Valispace solves the problem of making sure my whole team has access to the latest set of requirements in a dynamic program where these things are constantly evolving. It saves me a lot of time finding things for other people on my team. The parent/child relationships are also really valuable when reviewing requirements later, to know what will be imapcted by any changes as well as where numbers came from.

  ### 3. Highly capable program for PCBA design, but with a substantial learning curve

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Thomas E. | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** January 26, 2024

**What do you like best about Altium Develop?**

All in one end to end functionality, including parts library database, schematic entry, detailed rule assignments, good support for hierarchial designs, built-in line impedance calculator and signal analysis, flexible PCB parameters.

**What do you dislike about Altium Develop?**

it can be very difficult to find certain functions, and I still have not found a clean way of doing batch/ global operations to for instance lock all entities on a PCB (I typically use the PCB tab and lock the items by category), reconcile all part instances in a design with the libararies, re-assigning component IDs on the fly (and updating the SCH accordingly), and the confusing operation of the Pad & Via Templates library (and the way vias are handled as a whole: no convenient way to update vias on the PCB with vias in the Pad & Via Templates library, no way to specifiy stacked microvias, etc.).

Also the on-line documentation is written from a top down perspective, which makes it exceedly difficult to resolve issues encountered while running the program. There needs to be a solid, well maintained help portal which aggregates solutions for the many issues users encounter.

**What problems is Altium Develop solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We need a fully integrated package for complex PCB design, and it serves this purpose.

  ### 4. A very powerful software for pcb and electronic product design

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Industrial Automation | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** April 09, 2024

**What do you like best about Altium Develop?**

The interface is well organized and functional, all is integrated and you don't have to switch between multiple software to capture your scematic, transfer them to the PCB and document your product.
I also like the possibility to design multiboard product and document the design with draftsman.
This saves us from use other tools just to document the mechanical requirements to send to the fab to build the case for the boards.
We are exploring the new harness capability but I haven't yet used this capability in real project. Seems to be real interesting and moves the product in the direction that helps to use the same software from the idea to the documentation of the entire design.

**What do you dislike about Altium Develop?**

There are some feature that we need and that has been required from multiple users a long time ago and that has not yet been implemented.
What we miss is the possibility to design an asymetrical pcb stackup like you need to do with aluminium board.

**What problems is Altium Develop solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We use Altium Designer to realize custom board for industrial customer and for our research and development activity in mobile robotics.

  ### 5. The most complete PCB design tool

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Jose P. | Electrical Engineer, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** January 25, 2024

**What do you like best about Altium Develop?**

All the integrations it has developed with the years. I've been using Altium Designer for many years now, I love how easy to use it is, the design environment is easy to handle and customize. Every year they add new features and have been improving the existing ones to make it a powerful and complete design tool. Draftsman, their documents design and automation tool is a big hit for this software suite, now I can automatically build documentation for my designs. I use Altium Designer on all of my PCB designs.

**What do you dislike about Altium Develop?**

I would not complain at all of the software suite, I do think it is an expensive tool, and would really love to be more affordable so that I can use it for personal purposes. An observation about the Draftsman tool, the scrolling needs to be improved, it is too difficult to scroll between pages, a 9 pages document is a real pain.

**What problems is Altium Develop solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We design our products, Altium Designer has been of such a great help for circuit and PCB designs. This is the to-go tool for all of our designs.

The obscurity of keybinds, this may be due to my own incompetence but I had difficulty in finding keybinds. I found myself looking up the key binds myself

**What problems is Altium Develop solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Designing a PCB, it benefited me especially as a beginner with tools such as the error reports, and rules to import from my chosen PCB printer. Everything came out just right and the only errors i ever encountered in my own board were my own errors from a design standpoint, but never a fault of Altium

**Reviewed Date:** March 12, 2024

**What do you like best about Altium Develop?**

Altium Designer is the most complete and versatile electronics design software out there - I've used several different packages in my career, and Altium is the easiest to use, most intuitive, and produces the best results.

**What do you dislike about Altium Develop?**

A tiny niggle with Altium is that the licencing screen can sometimes be confused - for example if the software has previously crashed (doesn't happen often, but all software does sometimes), you're unable to use it again for a while because the license is still locked to the previous (crashed) session. There's workarounds though.

**What problems is Altium Develop solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Designing innovative PCBs, and allowing creative freedom of electronic design. Closing the loop betweem PCB design and mechanical integration by allowing inport/export of 3D bodies for MCAD collaboration.

**Official Response from Alanna Jordan:**

> It's great to hear that Altium Designer is helping you design innovative PCBs and integrate mechanical design! We're committed to providing tools that enable creative freedom and seamless collaboration across disciplines.

**What do you like best about Altium Develop?**

I like how each aspect of the design process links up to stream line moving from schematic to PCB to Fabrication outputs.

**What do you dislike about Altium Develop?**

It takes a long time to open the program. This may be a particular issue on older PCs like we use at our company, and once the program opens it does run very well.

**What problems is Altium Develop solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Providing 3D models is improving our design process hugely, making changes is extremely easy now and much more streamlined.
Linking Sch>PCB>Fab files makes it easier to make changes
Being able to find footprints and build a library makes designing easier

  ### 21. An Excellent PCB Design Software

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Electrical/Electronic Manufacturing | Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** July 30, 2024

**What do you like best about Altium Develop?**

I like the ''History'' feature of Altium the most, where you can go and view past versions of your project, as well as the server feature, which allows you to have all your work organition's project and library in one place, which eliminates the need for Github.

**What do you dislike about Altium Develop?**

The occasional but rare crashes, the ruler (CTRL + M) that sometimes doesn't snap correctly in the center of a footprint or at any useful part of the circuit and how long it can be to import a footprint/symbol.

**What problems is Altium Develop solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Altium is helping us create printed circuit boards at a professional level and easily import the 3D files of the boards in a mechanical assembly.

  ### 23. Although the learning curve is fairly steep, Altium is a great software tool for PCB layouts.

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Research | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** August 27, 2024

**What do you like best about Altium Develop?**

The user interface and tools are straightforward and 3D visualization of the board is decent.

**What do you dislike about Altium Develop?**

Steep learning curve and wish it had more manufacturing guidance, for example, design rules checking for ceramic vs. flex vs. FR4. This would save a lot of back and forth sharing of gerbers with manufacturers to get the board to something that can be manufactured.

**What problems is Altium Develop solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Fast PCB design and gerber generation for manufacturing.

  ### 24. complicated and expensive PCB Layout Software

**Rating:** 0.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Electrical/Electronic Manufacturing | Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** March 13, 2024

**What do you like best about Altium Develop?**

- many companies are using it, so it is very common
- some features are implemented like you expect it (e. g. STR´G +C, ...)
- Ease of use is missing
- if you use Altium very frequent, you will know a lot of shortcuts and some function will be really fats
- maybe a good solution for large development teams (some person for library, some for routing and some for developing the schematic)

**What do you dislike about Altium Develop?**

- no user manual and help in native language are available
- not possible to print what you see on the screen
- libraries are not organized and the footprints are not the best, so you should modify them manually
- help is not very helpful, so you better search in google- not easy to integrate
- customer support cannot help if you have problems (e.g. import schematics from eagle without errors) so it ois not possible to integrate your existing designs
- to use Altium
- auto placement of components is missing
- autorouter is difficult to use
-

**What problems is Altium Develop solving and how is that benefiting you?**

help function usually gives no usefull result, so you have to use google instad
updated functions very often, it needs a lot of youtr time

**Official Response from Alanna Jordan:**

> Thank you for taking the time to provide your feedback on Altium Designer. We hear your concerns and value your input. We will pass your feedback to our team to help us improve the user experience and support for our customers.

**What do you like best about Altium Develop?**

Altium designer is great largely due to the integrated nature of all it's subsystems. From core features you'd exepect in any Electronic CAD package worth its salt. Like schematic capture, PCB drafting or BOM management, to the extended features that are often neglected like component database management tools or documenation drafting features. Personally, the Altium365 component database has been a game changer for myself and those on my design team. With the integrated data driven parameters of the Altium365 component database, its streamlined many tasks that used to be rather tedious and time consuming. Implementing and maintaining a component database can be a lot of work, but with Altium it doesn't have to be the worst part of the EDA process. I use these features often and can't see myself going backwards to not having them as tools again. As well, if there are any stumbling blocks, the customer support is quick to respond, should you need the help.

**What do you dislike about Altium Develop?**

Largely, the price. Given, there's not much that can be done and it's really the cost of these things, but it would be nice to see Altium release cheaper package options, even if they were of limited feature sets. Not every team member needs the fully feature Altium package. Sometimes for certain roles you really only need one or two features for a given license, in a given role at the company.

**What problems is Altium Develop solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Obviously, PCB design is our core need, but Altium also helps solve several surrounding tasks that are overlooked in the design process. Namely, that's component database management, project documentation, and project document sharing. The Altium365 platform helps with the component side fo things for parts we design in-house, as well as the larger open Altium provided component database. The draftsman toolsuite has been helpful with the project data driven elements, so I can document the project and have it update automatically on project export. This can be a significant part of your time if you're doing it manually. Finally, sharing those documents on the same Altium365 web platform has been very helpful. Being able to setup a access portal where my co-workers can see the design as the files are checked in has been a real boon. This works really nicely with work handoff between the PCB designers and the programmers on a given team.

**Official Response from Alanna Jordan:**

> We're thrilled to hear that Altium Designer has been a game changer for you and your team! The integrated nature of its subsystems, including the Altium 365 component database, is designed to streamline tasks and improve efficiency. We understand your concern about pricing, and while we strive to provide value for the investment, we appreciate your feedback about exploring more flexible package options. We're glad to hear that Altium Designer is helping to solve not only PCB design but also surrounding tasks like component database management, project documentation, and document sharing. Thank you for sharing your experience with us!

**What do you like best about Altium Develop?**

User Friednly which makes is ease of use

**What do you dislike about Altium Develop?**

as much as it is easier to use and to make schematic and PCB, it is somehow and sometime difficult to define the rules appropriately.

**What problems is Altium Develop solving and how is that benefiting you?**

designing the schematic and PCB of high power and low power circuits in one boar

  ### 31. Powerful, complicated, expensive, and I wouldn't use anything else

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Higher Education | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** March 05, 2024

**What do you like best about Altium Develop?**

We are on the Pro subscription, utilizing the latest versions, and we have fully embraced the 365 online tools. I have used a variety of tools over the years for PCB design both as a hobbyist and professionally. We used a competitor product for over 20 years before making the switch to Altium. Our growing need for greater capabilities and tight integration was what pushed us over the line where despite the capital expenditure, it was more cost effective. Having fully integrated it into our processes over the last 2 years, it has allowed us to advance our designs and save tremendous amounts of time. In particular, the online shared libraries, active BOM (saved us running with a part that was EOL but the distributors didn’t say anything about that because they still had stock!), and the CAD integration.

**What do you dislike about Altium Develop?**

This is a powerful piece of software and the learning curve is steep. However, there are lots of online resources to assist with this and customer support is excellent. The other thing is price. It is high. It is completely worth it as a professional doing PCB design, but this not something you just casually invest in for the occasional work.

**What problems is Altium Develop solving and how is that benefiting you?**

The Pro subscription gives you everything. Schematic, routing, high speed, simulation, BOM management. There's even new cable routing tools that I haven't tried yet. The fact that we aren't limited or need to buy yet another module to do something allows us to be completely unconstrained in our design work.

**Official Response from Alanna Jordan:**

> We're happy to hear that Altium Designer has been a game-changer for your PCB design needs! It's great to know that Altium Designer plus Altium 365 have significantly advanced your designs and saved you time. We understand that the learning curve and price can be challenging, but we're glad to hear that the online resources and customer support have been helpful. Thank you for sharing your experience!

  ### 32. Intuitive and easy to learn CAD tool

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Omar G. | Electrical Engineering Manager, Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** December 19, 2023

**What do you like best about Altium Develop?**

its easy to work on both schematic and layout at the same time. Layout design is intuitive and easy to learn, commands are straightforward and all activity can be one on one window. UI is easy to understand and helpful.

**What do you dislike about Altium Develop?**

technical support is subpar, there is no personal interaction with technical support team, all questions are directed to their website to summit tickets and wait for answer which can take long.
they also ask to look in to their web log for solutions from other users, so one have to spend time looking for answers instead of getting a quick solution from an expert. Siim Im paying for subscriptin (which is not cheap) I would expect better technical support.

**What problems is Altium Develop solving and how is that benefiting you?**

even Altium is not our companys official CAD tool, we use it for quick prototyping and to generate 3D rendering of PCBs with components to share with ME team and confirm enclosure fitting. Its easy and straight forwared, no complex process to generate new parts, forwared anotation or gerber generation.

  ### 33. Smooth and professional

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Electrical/Electronic Manufacturing | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** May 06, 2024

**What do you like best about Altium Develop?**

It has every tool needed to design efficiently and provides a very satisfying user experience. I expecially like all the compatibility features it has with other file formats (such as DXF etc.) or how it can be used to transfer old projects from Protel into Altium.

**What do you dislike about Altium Develop?**

Realistically I have not found a real "downside". However one feature we hardly used is Workspace, which is of little interest if the company already has a funcioning and efficient servers infrastructure.

I could see it being used, bit it's not for all.

**What problems is Altium Develop solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Altium Designer is providing great help in creating easy to access libraries for our team, and keeping track of work and modifications done on the various projects.

  ### 34. Altium 365 from the perspective of a PCB designer.

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Defense & Space | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** March 15, 2024

**What do you like best about Altium Develop?**

The first thing that is cool about Altium365 is the ability for other users to post comments on schematics and PCBs and a window that allows you to mark the problem as solved. Another thing that makes work easier is the ability to log in via a browser without having to install Altium Designer on your computer. The account management and user interface is clear and simple. I had no problem with implementation of using it. I use Altium 365 almost every day. I have never used customer support because Altium 365 videos and tutorials are sufficient.

**What do you dislike about Altium Develop?**

Integration with mechanical engineers is still an issue. This is due to the inability to use Altium on a local server.

**What problems is Altium Develop solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I can share and review projects with multiple users on any computer (e.g. at home). This makes it easier to implement the product.

  ### 35. hard start, easy future

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Electrical/Electronic Manufacturing | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** October 11, 2024

**What do you like best about Altium Develop?**

everything is connected, everything is editable locally or globally and after a while ... short-cut

**What do you dislike about Altium Develop?**

perhaps the managment of the output (unify the panel ?)

**What problems is Altium Develop solving and how is that benefiting you?**

easy flow to pcb realiztion with many plus (bom 3d ...)

  ### 36. Good CAD software for beginners

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Amal J. | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** March 07, 2024

**What do you like best about Altium Develop?**

It's a user-friendly and easy-to-use version control system.
Component management is much easier with integrated tools. I also like the new constraint manager.
Project release is also becoming more professional

**What do you dislike about Altium Develop?**

MCAD co-designer somehow does not work well and I had problems with licences (sometimes it shows no licence available even if there are unused licences)-But the customer service in Germany is very nice

**What problems is Altium Develop solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Better simulation.
Sometimes offering better prices for start-ups like us may be helpful.
I also found when using component management in Altium 365 there were some difficulties in assigning the comment of the component which shows in the schematic document

**Official Response from Alanna Jordan:**

> Thank you for sharing your positive experience with Altium Designer. We're thrilled to hear that the software has been beneficial for your project release and component management. We're sorry to hear about the difficulties with MCAD co-designer and licensing. We appreciate your patience and understanding as we work to address these issues.

  ### 37. Altium Design for use in Student Design Teams.

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Computer Hardware | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** February 15, 2024

**What do you like best about Altium Develop?**

The best part about Altium is all the features that it has. You can easily go from idea, to schematic, to PCB all within Altium. It also has extra features that are super nice, such as the Manufacturer Part Search and an ActiveBOM that keep track of everything working together. Altium is also really great for collaboration and workspaces; no longer do I need to fumble around with Git, I can just get right into action and tell my peers to open the project from the workspace. It's a great way to get straight into PCB design with low hassle. This is especially useful in our student design team, as we have a shared component library and we have tens of projects ongoing at the same time. Anyone can review anyone's project, and Git history makes it super easy to look at changes.

**What do you dislike about Altium Develop?**

My least favorite part is definitely component selection. I feel this process could be simplified a lot, and doesn't have to be so complex. Simply say which component you want, a custom template appears, and it easily links to any manufacturer part. For example, if I want a 0805 12ohm resistor, I really want to be able to select a 0805 footprint template and choose that it's 12ohms. Then, Altium can just find a suitable resistor for me.

**What problems is Altium Develop solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We need many PCBs created, such as power distribution boards, motor controllers, battery management systems, anti-sparks, precharge circuitry, remote controls, etc... Altium has all the features that we need to make every single one of these PCBs. It's fully integrated and once you make one PCB it is really easy to transfer your skills to make the next one.

**Official Response from Alanna Jordan:**

> Thank you for sharing your positive experience with Altium Designer's collaboration and workspace features! We understand your concerns about the component selection process and will take your feedback into consideration for future improvements.

  ### 38. Great product. I use it daily and am very happy with it.

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Automotive | Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** August 27, 2024

**What do you like best about Altium Develop?**

Altium has many features which make it very easy to use.

**What do you dislike about Altium Develop?**

The lack of ai design support. I really wish Altium would implement layout optimizers, ability to place components with code etc.

**What problems is Altium Develop solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We do chip evaluations and we use altium for fast design and really reliable solution to our needs.

  ### 39. It works very well and I like how you can see online comments in the software

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Lucas S. | Jr electrical engineer and PCB layout, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** June 25, 2024

**What do you like best about Altium Develop?**

The fact that people can add comments anytime

**What do you dislike about Altium Develop?**

The worst pare (not even bad) is having to save to server. Adding a feature to do it automaticlly would be nice.

**What problems is Altium Develop solving and how is that benefiting you?**

It solves the problem of having to share the schematic via email everytime I update it.

**Official Response from Alanna Jordan:**

> Hi Lucas. We're glad to hear that you are enjoying the ability to see online comments in Altium 365. We appreciate your feedback about the saving process, and we will take it into consideration for future improvements.

  ### 40. Clean and very straightforward

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Renewables & Environment | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** December 12, 2024

**What do you like best about Altium Develop?**

Its tools are actually usable, its intutive and its quite accurate

**What do you dislike about Altium Develop?**

Sometimes part library migration as well as parameters are not defined well and there is not a great process outlined.

**What problems is Altium Develop solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Designing PCBs for my company's product

  ### 41. A365 is great

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Brad P. | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** December 12, 2023

**What do you like best about Altium Develop?**

Aside from being a convenient and effective way of communicating and sharing aspects of designs within my company, i use it all the time as a quick reference for my PCBs/schematics, instead of loading the Altium application and project fully. It's really convenient with a fast internet connection to pop on and take a look at something.

We use it as the file master for our projects so everyoens projects are up to date with the latest pushes. We've had 0 problems with colleagues being off track with shared projects.

**What do you dislike about Altium Develop?**

On the altium desktop application I can highlight a hole net of traces, or shift click and highlight multiple unlike nets/elements/components. If I need to do that I use the application instead of the 365 website

**What problems is Altium Develop solving and how is that benefiting you?**

keeping the whole team updated and communicating
Common place to leave comments and feedback

  ### 42. Very powerful program but steep learning curve

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Roger M. | Technical Staff Engineer - Test, Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** August 08, 2024

**What do you like best about Altium Develop?**

Many features integrated between schematic and PCB layout. Powerful tools for creating BOMS. Easy to learn for drawing and routing traces

**What do you dislike about Altium Develop?**

Project open should be under the project menu and not under file menu. Schematic drawing experience is different than other tools and takes some getting used to.

**What problems is Altium Develop solving and how is that benefiting you?**

it has allowed me to create PCB's without long term training.

**Official Response from Alanna Jordan:**

> Hi Roger. We're pleased to hear that Altium 365 has allowed you to create PCBs without extensive training. We strive to make the platform user-friendly and efficient for our customers. Thank you for sharing your feedback!

  ### 43. I've used it since the protel days, and will use it until the end of days

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Jason K. | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** March 05, 2024

**What do you like best about Altium Develop?**

It seems more integrated (between SCH and PCB) than other tools I've used, but more importantly is more intuitive than other tools (PADS, Orcad). Its about as fast to implement my designs as my thoughts behind it.

**What do you dislike about Altium Develop?**

It does feel a bit overwhelming to remember and find all the features - not unexpected; but this is a challenge, to make everything accessible and understandable.

**What problems is Altium Develop solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We are an EE house, SCH & PCBs are our bread and butter, and this is a neccassary tool to materialize that. Particularly in our RF realm where the artwork is nitche and complex.

**Official Response from Alanna Jordan:**

> Thank you for being a long-time user of Altium Designer! We're glad to hear that the integration and intuitiveness of the software have been beneficial for your SCH and PCB designs. We understand the need for accessibility and ease of use, and we're committed to enhancing the user experience to address these challenges.

  ### 44. Altium 365 is incredibly useful!

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Mohamed A. | Hardware Engineer, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** September 30, 2023

**What do you like best about Altium Develop?**

The most helpful thing about Altium 365 its version control actually, It's really easy to use..
Sharing projects and working on a project with your co-workers is helpful, adding comments on projects or components. and it is easy to implement and the start, just start your workspace and add its name and its done.
One day we had an issue, we contacted the support and they replied very fast, they were helpful.

**What do you dislike about Altium Develop?**

for me I use the workspace every day but sometimes some problems happens when I need to save or load, the server is undermintainace but it's okay it's from time to time.

**What problems is Altium Develop solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Version control, Communication with my Co-workers by comments and easy use of it. accessing my work from anywhere and the project web viewing is actually helpful.

  ### 45. Great concept but still many bugs

**Rating:** 3.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Aviation & Aerospace | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** April 12, 2024

**What do you like best about Altium Develop?**

The user interface is much simpler, cleaner and easier to use compare to other software solutions. Compared to using a spreadsheet you get many additional features like version tracking, tracibility, formula based requirements etc.

**What do you dislike about Altium Develop?**

I still experience many bugs every day, especially in the front-end. The testing module has never received much attention and is barely useful in my opinion. I am missing some key features:
- Custom requirement identifier numbering (also separate identifier per section)
- Placeholder for deleted requirements to block the identifier number
- An easy way to share a requirements list with non-Valispace user
- A proper testing module
- Better formatting in the requirements text editor

**What problems is Altium Develop solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Organised way of managing requirements

  ### 46. As a student, I am very satisfied with Altium Designer

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Bilel G. | Internship Trainee, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** May 03, 2024

**What do you like best about Altium Develop?**

In Altium Designer, I like the wide feature that is contain. These features are organized and powerful.

**What do you dislike about Altium Develop?**

I deslike that the student licence can miss some feature like differential pair routing.

**What problems is Altium Develop solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Making a custom PCB in a professional way can be guaranteed with Altium Designer, a powerful and feature-rich electronic design automation software. Altium Designer provides a comprehensive suite of tools that enable me to create high-quality PCBs.

  ### 47. I have been using Altium Designer for over 20 years

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Xiaolong J. | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** May 02, 2024

**What do you like best about Altium Develop?**

Easy to use, provide everything you need for PCB works and keep updating its functions.user friendly interface

**What do you dislike about Altium Develop?**

Gerber review is not that good. each reversion of AD releases fix some bugs but generate new bugs.As I know erery reversion with bugs just more or less.

**What problems is Altium Develop solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Schematic and PCB design as well as Gerber generation for manufacturing for company's production lines as well as BOM managment

  ### 48. Altium Designer is an easy to learn, full feature electronics design package.

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Electrical/Electronic Manufacturing | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** January 19, 2024

**What do you like best about Altium Develop?**

I find that Altium designer is easy and always has been easy to learn and use. We have been using Altium products since the PCAD days and have a appreciated every version since then. Outside of high performance signal integrity tools ; I don't know why you would consider using another product. We have 16 designers who use Altium designer every day; plus technicans who use the Altium designer to diagnose repair issues.

**What do you dislike about Altium Develop?**

The least helpful part about Altium is the support. Even as a paying customer on maintenance it is difficult to get timely support on issues, routine or otherwise. Thankfully the the number of times we have needed support is small.

One specific feature that I used to love about Altium designer is the FPGA component, which facilitated easy pin swapping and sync'ing to top level HDL and constraint files. I was very dissapointed when that feature was discontinued.

**What problems is Altium Develop solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Altium designer is the easiest package to onboard new engineers into; and get them designing quickly.
You don't need to know all the features to be initially productive ; and over time can learn more complex features to increase your efficiency.

  ### 49. Profesional grade PCB Design Software

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Adam J. | Manufacturing Manager, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** March 05, 2024

**What do you like best about Altium Develop?**

Altium's workflow is easy to use which makes using the project so much better. Also, Altium features a plugin called the MCAD co-designer that enables us to push PCBs to Solidworks and vice versa. This is critical for complex designs in tight form factors.

**What do you dislike about Altium Develop?**

The 3D navigation experience feels clunky at times and lacks vertical height measurement tools that would be very valuable.

**What problems is Altium Develop solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Altium is our go to for creating PCBs when we need a custom solution. It allows us to create schematics, layout chips, and route PCBs fast.

**Official Response from Alanna Jordan:**

> Hi Adam! We're glad to hear that you find Altium Designer's workflow easy to use and that the MCAD co-designer plugin is critical for your complex designs. We appreciate your feedback about the 3D navigation experience, and we'll share this with our development team for future improvements.

  ### 50. I was amazed about the capabilities and complexity that the softwares offers

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Hugo Valentin C. | Associate Researcher, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** February 15, 2024

**What do you like best about Altium Develop?**

The nice and good documentation that it offers, and the tons of different parameters that can be modified. It is also obvios that is has been developed together with users and this information has been considered in the integration and implementation on the modules which make the software easy to use.

**What do you dislike about Altium Develop?**

That not all of the modules in the online libraries have a footprint or 3D modell, maybe it would be better if a requirement for a modell would be those features.

**What problems is Altium Develop solving and how is that benefiting you?**

It helps me to develop the PCB that I need in a pretty user-friendly developer environment

**Official Response from Alanna Jordan:**

> Hi Hugo! We're thrilled to hear that Altium Designer is providing you with a user-friendly environment to develop quality PCBs. Our goal is to make the design process as seamless as possible for our users, so we're happy you're having a positive experience and appreciate your valuable feedback.
