The thing that makes MDaemon Email Server special is how simple it makes managing email. It has heaps of spam filtering and security features, which provides you a sense of security when you actually handle sensitive communications. I also like how it tethers with other programs such as our CRM to multiply productivity. That central management of multiple domains is a real plus in making our administrative tasks much simpler. The only disadvantage you could consider while using MDaemon Email Server is the slow availability of customer support option. Using the whole platform, I have little troubles, but when we have something more specific, it is difficult to find clear solutions in the documentation. These built in spam filters help to reduce the undesired email that can leave our inboxes looking messy and less safe. Moreover, it’s made it much easier to work with various domains, as our stream of communication has been streamlined. The MDaemon Email Server is a very good application and undoubtedly its major advantage is the ability to provide very good protection against spam together with very good antivirus support. One problem that has been solved is the ability to easily synchronize with CRM and calendar systems that has improved our communication flows. The user interface is quite friendly, meaning that managing multiple email accounts becomes a comfortable process. What do you dislike about MDaemon Email Server? A disadvantage of MDaemon Email Server is that the program’s performance considerably degrades when dealing with a large number of emails and may include a delay in the delivery of messages. Further, some of these useful enhancements are sometimes hard to set up, thus been quite a challenge to learn. These have caused a few hitches in the email flow that has called for troubleshooting and sometimes take additional time. What problems is MDaemon Email Server solving and how is that benefiting you? The problem that MDaemon Email Server addresses is the organization and the protection of the messages. It’s better spam control and anti-virus measures have greatly reduced this probability of downloading malwares and receiving unwanted emails. It is the integration with other programs that has enabled us to enhance how we interrelate hence increasing our productivity. MDaemon Email Server’s advantage that I like most is its stability and the strong protection measures. The server is extremely reliable, and is rarely down, which puts our emails at our fingertips. The main functions of the spam filter combined with the virus protection have substantially cut the amount of spam mails, which is a plus in my view. Further, the ability to integrate it with our CRM and Calendar application makes the communication and scheduling of clients and many team meetings much easier. What I found unsuitable about MDaemon Email Server is the user interface which is not as natural and smooth as in modern email servers. This makes it difficult for new users to master the software as they take longer time to gain ground in their use of this software. Moreover, the mobile app is not as feature rich as the regular desktop version, which can be problematic for the team members who require consistent email access even when they are not in front of their computers. MDaemon Email Server has resolved several issues for us most importantly the issue of dependability of the servers on email and the security of our emails. This way we make sure that always have our emails With maximum availability, something that is very important to our functioning. There is very few spam and viruses entering the company’s networks as a result of the built in filters enhancing our security. These benefits have given a positive result in improve the communication internally within our team and with external clients which enhance the increase in productivity as well as our business processes. I've been using MDaemon for 25 years, give or take. It's packed with useful features in addition to simple email, but it does this whilst still maintaining a small footprint and modest hardware/OS requirements. It's also very easy to manage, and its use of plain-text config files and a flat file message storage system makes it extremely customisable as well ... I can't think of anything I've not been able to achieve with it, even in some complex scenarios. Highlights: - Unlimited email aliases per mailbox, without affecting your licensed user count - Ability to alias to external email addresses, so you can set up forwarders to email addresses outside your system without using up a mailbox licence - Powerful mailing list functionality - Powerful content filter to allow a huge range of operations to be performed dependent on specified message/header contents - ActiveSync option for full mobile support - Choice of web-based and/or local GUI management - Excellent anti-spam/anti-malware/security functionality - Frequent updates and product improvements - Integration with MailStore email archiving software - Outstanding customer support Review collected by and hosted on G2.com. It's getting increasingly hard for MDaemon to keep up with the low cost and ubiquity of Microsoft Exchange Online / 365 services, which obviously offer great Office and other services integration. I loved how well in integrates with our MS tools. What do you dislike about MDaemon Email Server? The interface is very very old. It's way behind other server providers. It makes it harder for us to onboard new hires. We use MDaemon to manage our business emails. We've been very very happy with it apart from a couple issues, mainly about the interface. We've been using MDaemon since day one and its features and integrations have been expanded upon so much since then. It has great data connectors, it's relatively lw cost, and can hold hundreds of emails without performance issues. Probably the most daunting aspects are ensuring all setup features are properly enabled and for an inexperienced Administrator, this may seem a challenge.
