## AlgoSec Horizon Reviews
  ### 1. Working with more than 2 years - Stable, Reliable, and Very Helpful for Firewall Policy Management

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Shibu K. | Security Engineer, Information Technology and Services, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** May 14, 2026

**What do you like best about AlgoSec Horizon?**

I have been working with AlgoSec ASMS and Horizon for more than 2 years in our environment, mainly for firewall policy management, rule analysis, and risk visibility, and change tracking across multiple security devices. From my experience as an administrator, the platform has been very reliable and useful for day to day security operations. The application connectivity flow analysis is one of the most useful features for our team. It helps us understand which firewall rules and network paths are involved in specific applications, which saves a significant amount of troubleshooting time during change requests and incident investigations. The risk analysis and policy recommendation features are also very practical because they help avoid unnecessary or overly permissive rules in the environment.

**What do you dislike about AlgoSec Horizon?**

Honestly, there is not much to dislike. Some advanced reporting and workflow configuration took a little time to fully understand in the beginning, especially in a large environment. but after regular usage the platform became very easy to manage. Overall, my experience with AlgoSec Horizon has been smooth and positive

**What problems is AlgoSec Horizon solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I appreciate is the integration support with multiple firewall vendors. In our setup, managing security policies across different platforms became much more organized after implementing AlgosSec. The policy cleanup and rule recertification process also improved because unused and risky rules are easier to identify and review. I am working with Multiple India biggest companies like reliance and ICICI. And with the help of Fireflow i have cleaned more than 10000 rules. It helps me lot.

  ### 2. Algosec Horizon: Excellent Visibility, Automation, and Application-Centric Security Insights

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Anup A. | Network Security Engineer, Information Services, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** May 19, 2026

**What do you like best about AlgoSec Horizon?**

I appreciate about Algosec Horizon is very effective solution it simplifies management across complex environments it provides excellent visibility into network security policies,
one of the best part of the plateform is its application centric approach instead of only displaying technical details like IP address and ports,
Horizon helps us understand the actual business impact behind connectivity and security policies this makes troubleshooting faster.

Deshboard is user-friendly and well organized allowing teams to quickly monitor compliance status identify risks, and reviews application flows.

the protective risk insights are also highly valuable as they help identify misconfigurations and overly permissive rules before they become security concerns.
r
Another major advantage is the automation capability algosec hosrizon streamlines firewall policy mangement and cloud security changes
reducing manual effort minimizing human errors and accelerating approval processes the compliance reporting features are equally impressive espacially for organization working. with standered such as PCI-DSS HIPAA and GDPR as they significantly reduce preparation time.

I would say overall Algosec Horizon is not just a firewall management solution it is a powerful security visibility and risk management that helps organization improve operational efficiency strength security posture and better align security with business applications

**What do you dislike about AlgoSec Horizon?**

One area that can additional effort is the initial deployment and averment onboarding process especially in large or highly complex infrastructures.
since Algosec Horizon perfoms deep traffic flow analysis and application
dependency mapping organization need to ensure their network information and configurations are properly organized to get the best results however this proses ultimately helps uncover hidden network dependencies and improves overall visibility.

**What problems is AlgoSec Horizon solving and how is that benefiting you?**

we were facing lots of challenges to minitor network traffic Algosec Horizon has helped simplify firewall and security policy management providing clear visibility inti the network traffic, application connectivity and risk or unused rules after buying this solution team looks more confident while making changes and helps reduce the changes of unexpected production issue.

It has also made compliance management much easier providing continuous monitoring and ready to use audit reports which saves significant time during PC and SOC2 Assessments.

Another major benefits is the unified visibility across both cloud and on-premises environments with a single view.

  ### 3. Finally, a Single Pane of Glass for my AWS and Legacy On-Prem Firewalls

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** kaushal p. | Network Security Engineer, Computer & Network Security, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** May 14, 2026

**What do you like best about AlgoSec Horizon?**

The standout feature of AlgoSec Horizon to provide a unified "top-down" view of our entire security posture across a very messy hybrid environment.

The automated risk analysis is excellent. it doesn't just tell you the rule is "risky" it explains why based on the actual traffic flow and the sensitivity of the connected assets. it's also helped us significantly with the Rule Cleanup.

The absolute part is that it finally bridges the translation gap between App Dev teams and the security team. In most tools, you're just looking the IP addresses and ports, but the horizon's AppViz component lets us see the business context. When a developer asks why their connection is being dropped, i don't have to spend an hour digging through files, I can pull up the Application Connectivity Map see exactly which security policy is bottleneck

What i like the best is:

Intuitive Dashboard: The interface is clean and easy to navigate, making it simple to check compliance status, application connectivity, and risk posture.

Proactive Risk Alerts: Horizon flags potential misconfigurations or risky rules before they cause issues, which builds confidence in daily operations.

Application-Cenrtic View: Instead of focusing only on firewalls or devices, it shows how applications are impacted, which is far more meaningful for end-users.

Self-Service Queries: Users can quickly validate connectivity or compliance without waiting for IT invention.

Policy Automation: Automates firewall and cloud security group changes, reducing manual errors and speeding up approvals.

Compliance Reporting: Generates audit-ready reports for standards like PCI-DSS, HIPAA, and GDPR, saving significant time during assessments.

Scalability: Handles large enterprise environments without performance degradation.

Don't just look as it as a firewall too, Use the application-centric mapping. It makes explaining security risks to non-technical stakeholders much eaiser.

**What do you dislike about AlgoSec Horizon?**

If I'm being honest, the initial investigation and mapping phase can be bit of a heavy lift. It isn't necessarily a flaw in the software, but rather a reflection of its depth-beacause Horizon looks so deep into the traffic flows, you really have to ensure your network topology is accurately documented on your end first. If you have "dark corners" in your network or documented legacy segments, the tool will find them, but it means you'll spend some extra time in the early weeks fine-turning your collectors to get the full picture.

Another minor pain point is the Reporting UI customization. While the standard compliance templates for PCI and SOC2 are great out of the box, trying a build highly specific, custom-branded report for internal stakeholders has a bit of a learning curve. I found myself wishing for a slightly more intuitive drag and drop report builder for those one-off executive presentationss.

**What problems is AlgoSec Horizon solving and how is that benefiting you?**

The biggest headache we faced was "Rule Bloat" and the fear of unknown. We have thousand of legacy rules, and nobody wanted to touch them because we aren't 100% sure what they were connected to. Algosec Horizon solved this by giving us a "Safety Net". It identifies redundant or shadowed rules and simulates the impact of change before we push it. The benefit? I don't have to worry about a routine cleanup causing a massive production outage because a legacy app was hidden behind an old rule.

It also tackled our Audit Anxiety. In the past, whenever the auditors came knocking for PCI of SOC2 compliance, it was a "all-hands-on-deck" situation for two weeks just to gather the data. Now we use Horizon to pull a "Continuous Compliance" report. It constantly monitors our posture, so we know where the gaps are before the audits starts. This has turned a two-week manual nightmare into task that takes us about half a day.

Finally, it's bridged the gap between our Cloud and On-prem teams. Usually, these two groups speak different languages- one is looking AWs Security Groups and the other at physical Check point or Fortinet firewalls. Horizon gives us a single "source of truth" if a developer says their app can't talk to the database, we can see the whole path-from the cloud instance, through the VPN, to the on-prem server-in one view. That alone has cut our troubleshooting time by at least 60%.

**Reviewed by:** Frank J. | SOC L3 Engineer, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** September 08, 2025

**What do you like best about AlgoSec Horizon?**

AlgoSec Firewall Analyzer is an excellent tool for ensuring firewall assurance against defined standards and compliance requirements. It provides a comprehensive, single-pane view of the entire network, making it easy to understand how policies are structured and what impact potential changes may have before they are implemented. This visibility is extremely valuable for maintaining a secure and well-organized firewall environment.

Additionally, the training offered by AlgoSec is very insightful and well-structured, making it especially helpful for first-time users. It provides a solid foundation for understanding the products and their capabilities, allowing teams to quickly become proficient in managing and analyzing firewall policies.

Overall, AlgoSec Firewall Analyzer is a powerful solution for improving network security posture and streamlining firewall management.

**What do you dislike about AlgoSec Horizon?**

The initial configuration can be a bit complex and time-consuming, especially in environments with multiple vendors and large, distributed networks.

**What problems is AlgoSec Horizon solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Managing complex firewall environments across multiple vendors can be challenging, especially when trying to maintain compliance, optimize policies, and prevent misconfigurations. Without clear visibility, it’s difficult to predict the impact of policy changes, which can lead to outages, compliance gaps, and security risks. AlgoSec solves this by providing a centralized view of all firewall policies, automating compliance checks, and continuously monitoring for risky or overly permissive rules. It simplifies audits by generating detailed, ready-to-use compliance reports and helps teams quickly identify and remediate violations, ensuring standards are consistently met.

AlgoSec’s policy impact simulation is especially valuable, as it shows exactly what will be affected before changes are made, reducing human error and avoiding downtime. This not only strengthens the organization’s overall security posture but also improves operational efficiency, saving time on troubleshooting and change management. With AlgoSec, firewall management becomes smarter, more secure, and more efficient, while giving teams the confidence that every change is both compliant and low-risk.

  ### 6. Streamlined Firewall Setup with a Clear, Standardized Procedure

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** akos s. | Security Architect, Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** February 12, 2026

**What do you like best about AlgoSec Horizon?**

We like the fact there is a procedure and we don't need to individually configure the firewalls. The fact that they are all mapped to applications makes it much easier for our business owner to make requests in the language that they understand

**What do you dislike about AlgoSec Horizon?**

We have a complex network design and sometime it fails to understand how the traffic flows

**What problems is AlgoSec Horizon solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We are under pressure to implement firewall rules rapidly - and this enables us to have rules quickly enabled based on what our business needs in a way that they can understand

  ### 7. Effective Firewall Cleanup with Algosec, but Needs Better Stability

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Sarthak S. | Senior Analyst, Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** October 14, 2025

**What do you like best about AlgoSec Horizon?**

Algosec has proven to be a very effective tool for firewall cleanup activities, and I have been using it for this purpose for the past two years. The range of options and statistics it provides is quite good, though I have found that they are not always completely accurate. The monitoring features are also comprehensive, and I find the user interface to be especially user-friendly. Additionally, the tool is straightforward to deploy, which makes it even more convenient to use.

**What do you dislike about AlgoSec Horizon?**

The main concerns I have with this tool are its occasional malfunctions and the fact that statistics are sometimes not visible. There are also communication problems with the Checkpoint firewall, as certain changes either do not appear in the tool or take a long time to show up. Even when our firewalls are configured identically, the tool still struggles to communicate with one of them. Additionally, there is a significant issue with integrating Microsoft Exchange Cloud relay, which we rely on for sending weekly firewall reports. This compatibility problem is a major drawback for the tool. The TAC support is not upto the mark as they don't have proper knowledge of the tool and they have very less senior TAC support members.

**What problems is AlgoSec Horizon solving and how is that benefiting you?**

The primary advantage we gain from using Algosec is its support for firewall cleanup activities. Over the past two years, I have regularly performed these cleanups, and they have generally been completed successfully and without significant issues. Another benefit is the way Algosec documents each activity, which is helpful for referencing and verifying changes in the future.
