Without any Alchemer training, I was easily able to start programming surveys. I do have a survey progamming background, but I know others in my organization who are also able to quickly get up to speed. **What do you dislike about Alchemer Survey?** The basics of programming survey items is very intuitive, but some of the features (skip/display logic, formatting, etc.) take a bit to get used to. They are not difficult, and there is ample support to figure everything out. But coming from a different survey tool, I needed to brush up on some of these more advanced features. **What problems is Alchemer Survey solving and how is that benefiting you?** Alchemer allows me to quickly and easily program surveys for all of my internal clients to capture feedback on events, employee initiatives, employee experience and engagement, and also customer experience. The true benefit is that Alchemer is quick and straightforward to program those ad hoc, simple surveys that don't require a ton of complex features or reporting. Alchemer certainly is capable of the more complicated stuff. Still, I have dozens of quit hitters that I need to program and generate a quick report with frequency tables. Alchemer automatically generates a report that is 95% of what I need. I only spend a few minutes refining the report to meet my needs. ### 10. We also like the simplicity of building the survey, the report and analysis options. Customer Service was very mindful of my time and offered to troubleshoot my problem offline and contact me via email with solution. I could then ask more questions with the same customer service rep. This is a really nice feature. **What do you dislike about Alchemer Survey?** Setting up the email campaign with username and password was a bit more complicated than other surveys that I have used. I like how you can specify server locations as well. Customer support is top-notch if you have a professional plan. **What do you dislike about Alchemer Survey?** After their change to Alchemer, there have been too many bugs with their platform. Their migration to upgrade the servers and PHP code has left many basic features broken and bug-ridden. I am warning other users who might invest in important projects to avoid Alchemer until they work out all their bugs. Major issues include the inability to export your email distribution reports it is either very slow or times out. There is currently no fix for this. Their email quota system is also broken. Currently, if you use a combination of their quota as well as your own SMTP, it erroneously prevents you from sending your SMTP mail if it's larger than the quota available. Furthermore, their email server gets stuck quite often, especially when your distribution list gets larger (5000+). This means that if you're spending your time manually checking your emails to see if it is stuck or not, you will notice to your dismay many emails did not go out during your scheduled time. This also means multiple calls to support so they can manually override your emails to go out. The system also has a few inconsistencies with its time system. Scheduled emails are on UTC, Reminder emails are on GMT, and regular time stamps use your local time. So if you're trying to schedule your email invites at a certain time of the day (e.g. Lunchtime) you need to make sure all your time zones are aligned. Other minor bugs are just embarrassing, such as the fact that if you try to add a question hint, it's currently broken on their mobile mode. Your question hint will float right in the middle of your survey. We should have access to our survey day when our subscription expires. It's our data, so we should be able to download old results without being hostage into buying a plan. The mobile interface/responsiveness is very dated and doesn't look good compared to other competitors. **Recommendations to others considering Alchemer Survey:** Alchemer has a lot of features but it currently has many critical bugs that will give you a lot of headaches as you try to send out your survey through their email system. Many of it requires some digging and looking under the hood. Their updates have been consistent and has made the product worse that it was during SurveyGizmo days. There has not been much improvements to its UX/UI so it's starting to look dated and clunky compared to other software solutions. **What problems is Alchemer Survey solving and how is that benefiting you?** We needed to build a survey with complex logic. Alchemer's professional plan offers a lot of flexibility and tools to help us accomplish that. However there is currently too many critical bugs that will hamper the success of your project. You will be spending a lot of your time with customer support for mundane issues. The biggest issue is that their servers are poorly optimized. If you schedule an email at a certain time, expect it to be delayed by three or more hours. ### 12. It may not be quite as powerful as Qualtrics, but it also doesn't come with the price tag that Qualtrics does. And it's far more powerful than Survey Monkey if you want anything beyond the simplest of surveys. The support I've received when needed has been timely and professional. **What do you dislike about Alchemer Survey?** It can be frustrating to discover that certain features or question types are not available at the subscription level you've chosen, and it can be difficult to justify upgrading simply to get access to a particular capability. Also, I've had mixed experiences with downgrading to the free plan and then upgrading again later - my survey responses were either corrupted or gone entirely. Between the reporting, flexibility in design, and exporting features it can get the job done most of the time. It has a good bank of question types for use in their platform and most of the questions give a good amount of flexibility. The logic allowed within each question is fairly robust except for certain circumstances. We use the custom question library heavily and it has saved us a lot of time. **What do you dislike about Alchemer Survey?** There are a surprising amount of outages in the platform from the user side. The company claims it has never affected the gathering of respondents but its hard to judge from our own side. At least once a month there tends to be an hour or so during the day that access to the platform is down. Beyond that, I occasionally run into situations where the platform does not want to implement logic for reasons that are hard to understsnd. **What problems is Alchemer Survey solving and how is that benefiting you?** The roadmap appears to be to bring the software into a more modern userface and give it a sleekness of presentation that was not present in its original form and even more lacking when it was SurveyGizmo. They are very patient and they are able to send you emails to follow up which is great. I think that the colleagues that really know their stuff should get raises because i call very often with complicated questions and when I get new tech support people, I think they ask the same few people for help. **What do you dislike about Alchemer Survey?** 1.When we tried to get proservices to help us with some time sensitive work (yes I could have learned on my own how to do the things we wanted, but we needed it to be done ASAP and I am also a full time student which is why we turned to proservices), the sales guy said that Alchemer proservices did not have the capabilities to help us (which was weird because everything we asked for I knew that other softwares can do like redcap or qualtrics) so we ended up getting a third party programmer. Then with that third party programmer, we've had a lot of issues and everytime I call alchemer to help with something, the amazing tech support heroes give me great guidance and also tell me just how much easier things would have been if we would have gotten alchemer to help us instead because alchemer has simple ways to do the complicated things in the script that our programmer wrote. I think that the proservices consultation should be done by an actual proservices programmer so that this doesn't happen to others. It made our work pretty tough on me specifically since I had to be the liaison between programmer and alchemer- it was pretty frustrating to learn that this could have been avoided if proservices hadn't been gate-kept by someone that (he was very kind and professional don't get me wrong) didn't 100% know pro-service capabilities. 2.Sometimes the office is pretty loud when I call and thats a little difficult to try and explain things and then not be able to hear very well- maybe get the staff better headphones/mic set ups? **Recommendations to others considering Alchemer Survey:** If you want pro-services call the alchemer support team first and ask about your needs and then tell them that you will be contacting proservices so that they can make sure to let proservice sales people know that proservices have the capabilities for your needs. **What problems is Alchemer Survey solving and how is that benefiting you?** I am not 100% sure what this question is asking.
