It is easy to right-size the compute and storage options to create public or semi-private services. The web portal makes management a straightforward process, much more so than many competitors in this space. Akamai comes with good options to access and tune each VM. We were able to spin up a Nextcloud VM that allowed us to share data with a third party untrusted manufacturing partner. It only took a couple of minutes to be up and running. **What do you dislike about Akamai Cloud Computing?** I wouldn't say I dislike anything specific about ACC, other than the usual concerns about cloud services in general. The cloud infrastructure needs to be secure, and users need guidance to harden their specific Linode instances and apps. **What problems is Akamai Cloud Computing solving and how is that benefiting you?** We typically host our web and other services on premises, but we started working with a potential manufacturing partner in a region known for hacker activity. We decided to use Linode to create a cloud share using Nextcloud to facilitate communication and file sharing. We backed up files to our local storage, and monitored access to our Nextcloud instance. I'm a game developer and especially in the indie game sphere, linode/Akami is well-reputed and reliable. I've never had issues with servers being down, the data is incredibly easy to read and monitor, and the prices have no real competition. Setting up our server took almost zero effort and we had it ready to test our games within minutes. You can also really customize how different elements work together and what services you want to have. How much storage, your RAM, so on. Only once did we contact support and it was just to get the version of something they were using, which was easily available. Integrating any features we needed was also easy and simple. As a user, this helps me a lot, particularly for my work.
