## Across Reviews
  ### 1. Extremely Easy Onboarding and an Intuitive Tool

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Construction | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** January 24, 2026

**What do you like best about Across?**

onboarding is extremely easy and the entire tool is intuitive

**What do you dislike about Across?**

The device responsiveness of the tool is not the same across varying devices

**What problems is Across solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I use Across as a centralized Translation Management System to handle large-scale localization projects, ensuring that our technical terminology remains consistent across all languages while automating the workflow between project managers and translators

  ### 2. Across didn't fulfill the needs for our localisation process

**Rating:** 1.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Plastics | Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** June 30, 2022

**What do you like best about Across?**

Across has a good project management overview, you can filter the translations by certain users to see what and how much is assigned to which person. You can also unassign all jobs in that way from one person to another.

**What do you dislike about Across?**

The look of the software is quite old and not very up to date. There is also a lot of manual clicking and we missed good connectors and automatisation options for our workflows. We also had issues with the speed of the tool as it is not browser-based and especially some colleagues in China told us that it was working really slow for them. Also the restriction of user licenses (you can buy more but it means more costs) was something that was difficult from time to time.

**Recommendations to others considering Across:**

Check in advance if the software meets your requirements and have a look inside the tool first.

**What problems is Across solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Across helped us to localise our content and translate all required texts that we were working with. We could include external agencies and users to work with us on these projects.

  ### 3. Brief Across Review

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Information Technology and Services | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** February 25, 2022

**What do you like best about Across?**

Multifunctionality, low system requirements, a lot of training material to learn the program, big community to get help from, providing free license for students is also a very sweet deal.

**What do you dislike about Across?**

The basic edition does not involve document preview, which is a downside. Sometimes program stutters with no reason (as if cannot communicate with the server), interface could have been simpler

**What problems is Across solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Can complete my singular translation/localization projects as a freelancer. I can check my due date and project details without wandering too much among the menus.

  ### 4. An Across Review

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Translation and Localization | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** March 03, 2022

**What do you like best about Across?**

Across is a free CAT tool with tons of features and very helpful community. If you are a student, you can utilize their pro version, free of charge. That part is my favorite.

**What do you dislike about Across?**

It can be quite cumbersome to navigate through its interface. Even though it looks simple enough, some features and their titles are under different names, causing slight confusion.

**What problems is Across solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I am a freelance localization expert/translator. I occasionally use Across to create a freelance project. It also allows the user to create a termbase, even in the free version.

  ### 5. Used only when required by customers

**Rating:** 3.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Translation and Localization | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** October 12, 2018

**What do you like best about Across?**

It allows me to work on specific file formats and to work with customers who only use these formats, especially from German-speaking countries

**What do you dislike about Across?**

It's a bit slow and not that user-friendly

**Recommendations to others considering Across:**

It's not the best Cat tool around, I'd suggest to buy it only if required by customers

**What problems is Across solving and how is that benefiting you?**

It allows me to work with specific German customers who seem to prefer these Cat tool, for reasons related to file formats

  ### 6. High translation productivity with many different file formats

**Rating:** 3.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Translation and Localization | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** August 17, 2018

**What do you like best about Across?**

No size restrictions for the translation memory

**What do you dislike about Across?**

I cannot think of any unuseful function. All advanced features in Across help to improve translation quality and productivity.

**What problems is Across solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Easy to setup a translation team with high volume localisation projects.
