**What do you like best about A2 Hosting?**

We originally switched to A2 Hosting because we needed faster hosting to improve page load times. It made a big difference for the page load time, which was great! 

A2 also made the onboarding and the whole getting-started process very simple. Also, at the beginning, the price was great!

**What do you dislike about A2 Hosting?**

I was disappointed that they raised their prices significantly when it came time to renew my agreement. 

They have also recently changed some of their IP addresses and name servers, which caused a few issues but were easily resolved when I contacted support and made a few changes in Cloudflare.

**What problems is A2 Hosting solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I have all of my websites on A2 Hosting, and they make it very simple to add new sites or subdomains. Also, their support is great!

If you like good services and good customer support but don't mind paying a lot for it, then A2 Hosting would be a good choice. I previously was a customer of them, but I switched to another hosting company because of the price.

Compared to many other quality hosting companies, their prices are rather high. It makes it much harder to stick with them when the cost is so high.

I like how they can suddenly take your site offline for extended periods of time without any notice due to completely nonsensical claims of malicious content detected on the account. Repeatedly.

**What do you dislike about A2 Hosting?**

STAY AWAY. A2 Hosting will offer you a good deal and what looks to be a reliable service. But a few months down they road they will start to accuse you of hosting "malware" or "phishing content" on your site and take it offline, demanding ransom of $125 for "cleanup service" and thereafter a protection fee of $5 per month on top of your regular hosting bill. When such incident happens, coincidentally you will find it impossible to contact them via chat, and your tickets and emails are never replied to. Needless to say there is no malicious content whatsoever on our site(s) and we have even done multiple scans with several solutions after this to confirm it.

I was using different other providers before and was having lots of issues like downtime, virus attack, mail blacklisting etc. After changing to A2, all my issues were resolved. Using now for more than 3 years. Very happy with the service including its performance, customer support, ease of use and speed.

1 star is too many. For the last 6 interactions with A2 support (they average 1 per month) I needed to interact (not just open a ticket) with them 5 times on average to get the problem resolved. The last 2 interactions were necessary because of the migration A2 did and I had no opportunity to prevent. Unbelievable incompetence.

**What do you dislike about A2 Hosting?**

A2 has once again farmed out their support overseas. Prima facia that's not terrible but the people doing their support have no experience and have no capacity to understand customer needs. To make matters worse they thrust problems upon their customers my migrating hosting accounts to new servers with no training and experience. They can't even get the DNS straight when they have complete control over the entire process!

They host my website. The only benefit is it's cheap. You get what you pay for.

Domain name sales are a bit price-y though.  But easy to buy elsewhere and transfer to A2hosting.

Heckyeah... Well, my bank will keep me hanging on the phone for 1-2 hours and let me go 2 days without answering a help ticket message, but A2 LITERALLY implemented a solution for me AND cared enough to fully explain the situation, in the middle of the night. I was banging my head on the wall related to a DNS issue.  Put in a help ticket.  Went to bed.  Woke up. ...And first thing in the morning, I find that tech support implemented the solution for me, AND fully explained it so that next time I can just do it myself.  Now THAT is a nice thing to wake up to, isn't it?

They have just lowered my cost by 70% (taking advantage of their Black Friday promotion) by just asking for it.

I've used a lot of hosting companies in the past, and all of them have fallen short in some way or another.  Artificial and arbitrary limitations, restricted SQL databases,  Unlimited  bandwidth that's anything but, and more confound our efforts to serve our customers.  A2 has been the absolute opposite.  Going above and beyond time and again, A2 has been an incredible host, both flexible and responsive.  It's nice to get what you pay for, but it's even better when you get to be pleasantly surprised on top of it all.

The pricing can be a bit eye-opening, and it's rarely on sale.  You are getting what you pay for, but pay for it you will.

**What do you like best about A2 Hosting?**

A2 has the fastest servers I've worked on in over 15 years as a professional web developer. I've been through many hosts over the years, and my most recent search involved several purchases at various hosts that I needed to refund because either the servers or the support were terrible. I finally found A2 and haven't looked back. 

Setup is a breeze; everything works as expected without having to hunt for things or go through support to activate features. When you do need support, they're excellent. They take care of any issues without trying to blame the user or make excuses. If they don't know an answer, they escalate the issue to somebody who does - instead of pretending and guessing like you see at so many other hosts.

**What do you dislike about A2 Hosting?**

One client said they had an issue that took a while to get sorted. I haven't had any issues myself, but I guess no support team is perfect. 

Not specific to A2, but for all hosts (including them):  I really dislike that they jack up the rates after the first, heavily-discounted term. I'm not complaining about the discount, but all hosts do this. Because of the price disparity, it makes switching to a new host more logical than renewing with your current one. A2 is good enough that I will stay, but it would be good if hosts just kept their prices the same. After all, if they can afford to give someone 3 years at the lower price, why can't they just keep that price? Why does it have to double or triple on renewal? Seems like gouging, but you can't get away from it.

They're a good, reliable host. Their servers are fast, and run everything I need without glitches, errors or crashes. Uptime is excellent, as is their tech support.

While the hosting plans are great and full-featured, and my Drupal websites run fast and secure, I'm most impressed with their support team. They're great listeners and they're very helpful and very on top of issues, and their support tickets are very easy to find and keep track of. I'm very glad I moved my sites over to A2 Hosting after 19 years of using Godaddy.

I have yet to encounter anything I don't like, and I've been using A2 Hosting since 2019.

The kind of security that I had to pay extra for at Godaddy (which didn't even work against the frequent SQL Injection attacks my site experienced) is built-in to my A2 Hosting plans and makes my life a lot easier, knowing that I don't have to keep dealing with alerts that my site is once again full of malware. Moving my first Drupal site (Drupal 7 at the time) was also a breeze, as A2 Hosting automatically migrated my site to their servers on the Turbo (reseller) plan, and my site IMMEDIATELY worked much better. It turned out that all the bugs with my site had actually been bugs with Godaddy the whole time! My new Drupal 9 site also runs super fast and smoothly on their Drive hosting plan. Getting my domain and the associated email address moved over to A2 was pretty straightforward, and their support team helped get things on track within 24 hours of starting the process so I had no significant down time in my business. As a sole proprietor, this gives me so much peace of mind to know they can help, since I'm also resposible for making my websites run smoothly in addition to my actual business.

Fast virtual server with low contention. VERY responsive support (to the extent that virtual servers require support). It is refreshing to have real carbon life forms respond to email with email. I am a retired CEO. Prior to that I was a Deming trained quality-management consultant. Quality management is a function of process management. A2 gets it. Moreover, they are continually soliciting customer feedback (which seems so rare these days). When a company measures success - at least in part - through customer satisfaction it ends up as revenues. Other companies spend a fortune acquiring customers and then devote insufficient resources to keep customers. It is short-term thinking (normally related to P.E. ratio). A2 makes a real effort to retain customers by treating them as, well, ... customers.

**What do you dislike about A2 Hosting?**

There is nothing to dislike. Seriously. They really take good care of customers. I would have preferred the more current version of Centos but I was able to update php without much problem.

**Recommendations to others considering A2 Hosting:**

If you are new to VPS make sure to include a certificate in the order (https in contrast to http). I do not recall the OS options but I have always preferred Centos.

I advocate for transgender and gender-expansive kids. I use Wordpress. With the VM I can configure LAMP exactly the way I want it. I have used shared hosting in the past and there is really no comparison to using a VM.

Over the past few years their service has been fast, reliable, and affordable. Whenever I encounter an issue (usually something on my end) their support staff respond quickly and courteously and help me figure it out. As an added bonus, they're a Michigan based company that supply a service superior to that of their competitors.

I was looking for another hosting provider to migrate my websites. I was happy with services on the old one but the prices has become unaffordable, so I was looking for the host that would have the same / similar quality for affordable price. I wasn’t looking for the cheapest option because quality cost. After the researching I stopped with A2 Hosting. One of the things that were important to me that they have a server location in Europe.

What I was impressed of a lot was their support. The pre-sale team answered very quickly my questions. Afterwards, when I migrated my 5 websites (despite, they offer one website free of charge, I decided to do it by myself, cause I have knowledge and I still needed to migrate 5 and point the domains from different places). And I could say that during the process I was a lot on their support chat or submitted support tickets. Since I work in IT, I know that even you do the things “by the book” there is always something that doesn’t work as you expected. So I would lie saying that the migration was easy-breezy but their support is superb! If you don’t manage to resolve an issue on their live support (sometimes the issue is too complicated to resolve right away), they were very operative to answer the support tickets.

Bottom line, I’m very happy changing the hosting company and that migration process has finished.

I didn't like so much the usability of their live chat. For example, at the end of the chat you can choose that the transcript would be emailed to you. It would be emailed, but it would never have my initial request (text). It would happen that not everything could be solved on the live support, so I had to submit a support ticket with the same issue. It would be handy if I could just copy-paste my initial text from the transcript, but that text wasn't included there.

Even if it is marketed as unlimited space for shared hosting, the space is limited to 100GB and more important, the daily backups stop over 50GB. It is not even possible to pay to upgrade it. The only option is to change to a VPS
