# What is the best way to track time for remote teams?

<p class="elv-tracking-normal elv-text-default elv-font-figtree elv-text-base elv-leading-base elv-font-normal" elv="true">Hello G2 community, we’ve been remote for a while now and figuring out the best way to track time for remote teams has been trickier than expected. Not because of tools, but because of the balance. You want some visibility, but you don’t want it to feel like you’re constantly monitoring people.</p><p class="elv-tracking-normal elv-text-default elv-font-figtree elv-text-base elv-leading-base elv-font-normal" elv="true">Right now, we’re trying to find something that just fits into how people already work instead of forcing them to “log time” as a separate task.</p><p class="elv-tracking-normal elv-text-default elv-font-figtree elv-text-base elv-leading-base elv-font-normal" elv="true">What we’re hoping to get right:</p><ul>
<li>Visibility into where time is going across projects</li>
<li>Something that works across devices without friction</li>
<li>Doesn’t feel intrusive or overly monitored</li>
<li>Easy enough that people actually stick with it</li>
<li>Useful insights, not just raw time logs</li>
