Having used the software for digital signage, this reviewer finds Xibo easy to use with its helpful management features. The complex licensing process, however, can be difficult for users to navigate after purchase.
View Full ReviewI like that Xibo is easy to use (once you learn the terminology for everything) and even easier to install. It gets used daily for postings across the facility and allows for multiple types of infographic slides. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
Xibo can be very confusing for new users, especially when it comes to correctly building layouts Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
Digital signage solution is a viable option although there are some hoops to jump through to get things to function properly. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
The learning curve to get multiple setups and time is not the best and easy as Yodeck. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
Free (as in beer) and open-source; it's great that you can run it on a VM server and just be up and running in literally minutes if you're familiar with similar software as well as Linux in general. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
The Windows client software is free but can't be auto-updated from the server. No client for Raspberry Pi, even if you run Ubuntu on the Pi - there's just no version of the client for ARM at all. Well, there might be; but it's not a free one. Some of the design options are a little convoluted for general use. Create a slide 'layout,' then add empty 'regions' to put each 'content piece' in is more complex than the needs I have of the system. I recognize situations where that level is of great benefit but for my needs I'd love to just drop the content pieces directly onto the slide instead of needing to make 'regions' for them first. Xibo is an innovative digital signage software manufactured to take full advantage of the striking and dynamic screens, which allows me to create personalized digital signage for indoor or outdoor displays that far exceeds what older screens and frames are capable of. They have a large number of positive features that attribute their benefits such as having an open source player, established platforms, flexible content, cloud storage, advanced design and widgets. Xibo is a software without a doubt very fast and stable but it has some things that are very complicated to do. For example, if you have a large number of customers, you will not be able to track the content because the PROGRAM screen is not easy to use, you have to do a lot of steps to achieve something simple like uploading a plug-in to a screen, among other types of things. although it is true that it has been well received by the cyber community its complexity can be a point of conflict.
