If you've ever used a software like movie-maker, which includes timeline, and adobe pagemaker, to arrange the layout of your page, you will easily get along using Xibo CMS. It is easy to use and understand. However, when you add the elements (your images, videos or such presentation items) you will not be able to see them before you hit the preview. In preview, everything appears as you planned and placed in the layout. It is responsive to the device and gives you a very good result. **What do you dislike about xibo?** - While the use of CMS is very comforting, at times, the multiple functionality may confuse new users. - You get a 14 days free trial of Xibo apk to install on your TV or device but this seriously needs to improve the licensing process. Simply after purchasing the license and adding it was a tough job and had to go through the documentation. **Recommendations to others considering xibo:** It doesn't take a professional or months of experience to use Xibo but it definitely takes some time for the first time setup. It is better to save your time by checking some documentation at first or watching a few youtube videos about Xibo. Along with that, if at any point you need help, please contact the support team at Xibo without any hesitation as this will really save your time. The system offers a lot more that what a specific user will actually try to achieve at a given point of time. **What problems is xibo solving and how is that benefiting you?** Due to the covid-19 pandemic, it was necessary to display the awareness on how to prevent catching this infection. So, we thought of displaying it in slides, texts and videos to the visitors at the office lobby, regardless of how less visitors there were. As the autoplay of sound on browsers are not supported, xibo presented an unique opportunity to display the messages interactively and it was fairly fruitful. Let's say, it did the job perfectly. ### 2. It gets used daily for postings across the facility and allows for multiple types of infographic slides. **What do you dislike about xibo?** Xibo can be very confusing for new users, especially when it comes to correctly building layouts **What problems is xibo solving and how is that benefiting you?** Xibo is solving the issue of lack of signage software thats free ### 3. Excellent for the price - especially if you run your own server! **Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars **Reviewed by:** Jeff H. | IT Support Specialist, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.) **Reviewed Date:** November 02, 2021 **What do you like best about xibo?** Free (as in beer) and open-source; it's great that you can run it on a VM server and just be up and running in literally minutes if you're familiar with similar software as well as Linux in general. **What do you dislike about xibo?** The Windows client software is free but can't be auto-updated from the server. No client for Raspberry Pi, even if you run Ubuntu on the Pi - there's just no version of the client for ARM at all. Well, there might be; but it's not a free one. Some of the design options are a little convoluted for general use. Create a slide 'layout,' then add empty 'regions' to put each 'content piece' in is more complex than the needs I have of the system. I recognize situations where that level is of great benefit but for my needs I'd love to just drop the content pieces directly onto the slide instead of needing to make 'regions' for them first. **What problems is xibo solving and how is that benefiting you?** Xibo is an excellent low-cost solution for putting employee notifications from different departments (HR, Safety, etc.) out to every department in our facility. ### 5. They have a large number of positive features that attribute their benefits such as having an open source player, established platforms, flexible content, cloud storage, advanced design and widgets. **What do you dislike about xibo?** Xibo is a software without a doubt very fast and stable but it has some things that are very complicated to do. For example, if you have a large number of customers, you will not be able to track the content because the PROGRAM screen is not easy to use, you have to do a lot of steps to achieve something simple like uploading a plug-in to a screen, among other types of things. although it is true that it has been well received by the cyber community its complexity can be a point of conflict. **Recommendations to others considering xibo:** Patience is something that people are short of, especially when they are in a hurry to get effective signage. but if you are willing to really learn it thoroughly, no doubt Xibo will not disappoint you. and what I find most important to highlight is that it is totally free and always have constant updates **What problems is xibo solving and how is that benefiting you?** We use the open source software package to present informational screens around the workplace.
