TrakSYS is a manufacturing execution system (MES) that helps manufacturers monitor, manage, and improve production operations. It brings production visibility, quality, material tracking, digital workflows, and analytics together in a configurable platform, with conversational AI capabilities that makes manufacturing data easier to explore and use. The platform connects and contextualizes data from equipment, systems, and people. TrakSYS is a modular manufacturing operations management platform. Unlike closed and rigid systems, it stands out for its open architecture, low-code platform and native integration with the main industrial protocols. What problems is TrakSYS solving and how is that benefiting you?

TrakSYS has truly enabled the construction of modular solutions that meet the specific requirements of each customer or manufacturing business model. We have used TrakSYS to support demands in a variety of industries from cosmetics, beverages and food to metals and mining. "Flexible MES with Powerful C# Scripting and Easy UI Building"

What do you like best about TrakSYS?

TrakSYS is in my experience a more flexible MES solution than others. This allows for more control in the development phase and lets you adapt to a high number of variations which in my opinion is very important when building MES solutions for different companies as the operation from factory to factory varies substantially.

This is specifically using C# scripting. And the easy-to-use UI building functionality. The UI building framework also allows you to spend more time on UI/UX design which is an important aspect for building solutions that are easy to adapt by the operators, and allows for less time spent on change management. In addition, other MES solutions are limited in this regard.

The scripting features also allow highly customized integrations which let TrakSYS not be the bump in the road when creating integration with other systems across the manufacturing environment. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about TrakSYS?

TrakSYS development can be tedious and hard when multiple developers are working on the same solution. The solution needs to better support the integration of version control through tools like Git. Deployment of solutions in TrakSYS should be possible to do through existing CI/CD tools like GitHub Copilot to fit better into modern software development.

Training on the platform has been limited and mostly up to the partners' internal experience. This has improved with TrakSYS Academy, but there should be more demo solutions available for partners that solve specific problems which can be used as a starting point for implementations.

The pricing structure of TrakSYS is sometimes a limiting factor. In some cases, we would like to build solutions that use features that are only available at higher tiers, but might not need a lot of the other features. This is specifically true for workflows and connect. In my opinion, these features should be part of the base package since they are features that enable the correct use of the platform.

The AI features are good, but some customers require the AI model to run locally and are therefore not interested in cloud solutions for LLM. It should, in my opinion, be possible to run local LLMs to utilize TrakSYS IQ. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What I like best is that TrakSYS is a highly configurable MES environment while also allowing us to customize to meet our specific needs. It supports a broad range of MES use cases with an elegant implementation and user environment. TrakSYS allows for greater manufacturing consistency and efficiency, leading to greater profitability. The strategic planning options and the optimization of advanced sequencing based on algorithms need improvement in standardization from the implementation perspective, like the rest of the elements.
