**Reviewed Date:** December 16, 2025

**What do you like best about ParentSquare?**

I can stay in touch with what is happening at the school

**What do you dislike about ParentSquare?**

Its a bit hard to navigate around the app and easily use links within the app.

**What problems is ParentSquare solving and how is that benefiting you?**

It allows the communication lines to flow between the school and parent, making it easy for parents to feel connected to the school community.

  ### 2. ParentSquare review

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** MARY L. | Chief Communications Officer, Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** June 24, 2025

**What do you like best about ParentSquare?**

Having all communication in one place for students, parents and teachers has been a huge plus for us. It is easy to use and ParentSquare is very open to suggestions for improvements.

**What do you dislike about ParentSquare?**

Some filtering in feeds would be helpful. Maybe a "marked as read" feature to keep feeds less cluttered. That is the chief complaint we hear from users.

**What problems is ParentSquare solving and how is that benefiting you?**

One place for communications. We are in our third year and it has taken some time, but more and more users are on board and they know where to go to see important information from their school and the district.

  ### 3. ParentSquare is great for school districts!

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Ken B. | Director of Technology, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** June 24, 2025

**What do you like best about ParentSquare?**

ParentSquare has helped us increase our communication and reach to our families. Many reports are available to support getting to 100% reach. An innovative company that keeps coming out with new features. Technical Assistance is available all the time!

**What do you dislike about ParentSquare?**

There isn't much I don't like about ParentSquare. Of course the cost is a factor, but it is very comparable to other solutions.

**What problems is ParentSquare solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Our schools are able to get messages out to families, send direct messages in multiple languages and just keep in constant contact. This helps with engagement, attendance and relationships.

  ### 4. Best Communications Platform!

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Peter B. | Student Information Systems Administrator, Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** June 24, 2025

**What do you like best about ParentSquare?**

It is integrated with our SIS. It makes updated data a breeze and has great templates for auto-notices. We also like that we can set up student groups in our SIS that will sync into ParentSquare on a nightly basis. The customer support is fantastic!!

**What do you dislike about ParentSquare?**

Auto-Notices can be a pain to translate, but once done they are stored until changes are made.

**What problems is ParentSquare solving and how is that benefiting you?**

It helps us meet CA State requirements to send out annual notifications to parents. Plus, we get confirmation that the messages we sent were received. The stats are amazing!!

  ### 5. We have used Parent Square for years at our district.

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Emily W. | Director of Communications and Marketing, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** June 24, 2025

**What do you like best about ParentSquare?**

ParentSquare is extremely responsive. They listen to their users when it is time to take their product to the next level and find ways to constantly make it better and progress with the students and families.

**What do you dislike about ParentSquare?**

We are currently working with ParentSquare to work through transition from grade level communications and student move from building to building. Again, PS is listening to our struggle and working with us, and helping to develop their product to make it more user-friendly.

**What problems is ParentSquare solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Parent Square is our district communication tool.

  ### 6. ParentSquare Review

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Melissa B. | Administrative Assistant to Technology, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**What do you like best about ParentSquare?**

ParentSquare has been a great communication tool. It has streamlined our communications to just one application. It has made communication simple for teachers and easy to view for parents.

**What do you dislike about ParentSquare?**

Sometimes it's difficult to communicate with students or parents across more than one location. Students/Parents are separated by building. We have found work arounds for this however.

**What problems is ParentSquare solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Not being able to reach some parents, having the app makes it easier to connect. Filling out forms and permission slips is also much easier and completed more frequently.

There is still work to be done on the Studio Editor side. We want our teachers and administrators to be able to easily collaborate on shared newsletters.

ParentSquare helps us reach all of our families in their various native languages.

The two-way translation system ensures no language barriers. Moreover, their customer service is outstanding. Whenever I encounter a problem, it gets resolved quickly. Our teachers and families are truly satisfied with ParentSquare's efficiency!

I haven't experienced anything that I don't dislike in 3-4 years of being a customer!

Nothing! I think it is GREAT! I would chose it at any district I worked for.

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Primary/Secondary Education | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** June 24, 2025

**What do you like best about ParentSquare?**

Secure Documents is a great feature for sending individualized documents to families, much like snail mail, but electronically. Additionally, Direct Messages and Posts are translate into users' preferred languages effortlessly.

**What do you dislike about ParentSquare?**

There is so much potential for how you can use ParentSquare. The downfall is the amount of time it can take to really learn it all but in the long run, it's not really a "downfall."

**What problems is ParentSquare solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We completely eliminated the use of the big, clunky report card printer and printer paper because we can now send report cards electronically via ParentSquare Secure Documents.

  ### 16. Great answer for student safety - removes personal devices

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Matthew M. | Director of Information Technology, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** February 11, 2025

Remind allows the school employees/coaches to communicate with student athletes and club members without introducing personal devices. The school can monitor all messages being sent between team members and adults. Allows for peak safety for students.

**What do you dislike about ParentSquare?**

The admin portal is very simple and basic. Does the job, but leaves some to be desired. Wouldn't mind a few more setting options or preference options.

**What problems is ParentSquare solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Remind eliminated any correspondence between personal cell phones. Coaches/employees can safely communicate with groups of students while allowing administration to monitor the messages. It provides a sense of comfort for the parents to know that this is the only accepted means of communication amongst teams. The school holds a record of messages for legal and security concerns.

I wish there were more design options in the Studio Editor when creating newsletters.

**What problems is ParentSquare solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Communicating with our parents is now much easier. The program's translation feature is impressive.

  ### 21. District Instructional Technology

  ### 22. Horrible cancellation policy. Will automatically renew if you do not give them 60 days notice

**Rating:** 1.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Rob H. | Chief Technology Officer, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** June 28, 2024

**What do you like best about ParentSquare?**

It's ability to produce reporting on messaging between clients
It is easy to use but expensive

**What do you dislike about ParentSquare?**

Anti-consumer cancellation policy. Wrote them to explain that I inherited this software subscription that overlaps in feature with another bundle so when I asked to cancel it within a month of the renewal date, they informed me that they could and would not due to their written policy. This software is thousands of dollars a year and now they say we're stuck paying for something we do not plan to use. This company operates like a copier lease manufacturer which is just slightly above the reputation of a used-car salesperson. Stay clear of this company for not only being inflexible but downright greedy. We are a non-profit school and this just unecessarily reduces limited resources.

**What problems is ParentSquare solving and how is that benefiting you?**

secured, auditable, anonymous messaging between faculty and staff

  ### 23. Total Game Changer for School Communication! 5 Stars!!

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Haley W. | Library & Media Manager and District Communication Specialist, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** June 04, 2024

**What do you like best about ParentSquare?**

I love everything about ParentSquare! It has been a total game changer in our school district, opening up the doors of communication between families and staff. Their customer service is top-notch as well. The ParentSquare team is always looking for ways to innovate, making improvements that advance school communication and family collaboration, and they truly listen to our requests. As a district administrator, it was a seamless rollout and our families and staff absolutely love it!

**What do you dislike about ParentSquare?**

That we didn't jump ship to ParentSquare sooner.

**What problems is ParentSquare solving and how is that benefiting you?**

ParentSquare helps our teachers, administration, support staff, nurse, transportation department, and coaches communicate with students, parents, and families using posts, two-way messaging, alerts, and coming soon an integrated Smart Site website as well. We have 99.9-100% contactability with ParentSquare and can see reports on how our people are viewing messaging, what's working best, etc. It allows parents and students to choose how they want to be communicated with as well, whether email, text, app, or phone call.

Easiest way for the office staff and teachers to communicate with parents efficiently.

**What do you dislike about ParentSquare?**

Sometimes the feed gets mixed up and takes me to look at older posts.

**What problems is ParentSquare solving and how is that benefiting you?**

It allows me to know exactly what is going on within the school in a timely manner.

  ### 25. Remind Keeps Us Connected

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Nicole L. | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** June 06, 2023

**What do you like best about ParentSquare?**

I like that Remind allows me to message my students' parents regularly. I can message them individually, in specifically selected groups, or as a whole class. It also allows me to send photos, files, etc.

**What do you dislike about ParentSquare?**

I dislike how I'm able to upload only 1 photo at a time. Some weeks are busy at school and we may be asked to send out 5 photo announcements, all 1 text at a time, rather than as multiple attachments on one message.

**What problems is ParentSquare solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Remind helps me stay connected with my students' parents, my school admins, and my colleagues. It is a secure messaging app, which provides ease along with safety!

  ### 26. Connect with students and parents

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Jennifer H. | Registered Nurse {BSN Prepared} in a variety of roles , Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** November 02, 2023

**What do you like best about ParentSquare?**

easy to install, use on a laptop, or in an app. I've been using for greater than nine years

**What do you dislike about ParentSquare?**

Can have only a set amount of particpants per Class set.

**What problems is ParentSquare solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Easy of use and can add other features, uploads, files, newsletter, etc.

  ### 27. Happy with Remind

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Alessia C. | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** May 31, 2023

**What do you like best about ParentSquare?**

I like that I can send messages to a group with graphics. I can use Bitmoji app which makes it look a little more fun.

**What do you dislike about ParentSquare?**

I don't like not being able to send a message to a few people instead of the whole group. It could be my school settings.

**What problems is ParentSquare solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I can send announcements to a group of people and I see if it was received. This is better than paper flyers because I don't know if parents see those.

  ### 28. Easy way to keep it touch with parents, students, and more!

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Tom W. | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** March 27, 2023

**What do you like best about ParentSquare?**

Easy, efficient method for keeping in touch with all parents/guardians and students. Good reporting for administrative Hub users.

**What do you dislike about ParentSquare?**

It can be tricky to figure out who is who at times, particularly if a parent has signed up multiple times.

**What problems is ParentSquare solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We have been using Remind to keep in touch with our parents/guardians and students for several years. For many of our users, SMS is their primary method of communication. Therefore, Remind has helped us tremendously in that regard.

  ### 29. Translation feature

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** MariaElena O. | Second Grade DBE Teacher, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** September 22, 2022

**What do you like best about ParentSquare?**

The ease to message multiple people at once without having to type in their email or deal with difficult email settings to make groups.

**What do you dislike about ParentSquare?**

The translation feature needs more options for users that are bi or multilingual. It is difficult to understand a message that was originally written in Spanish when translated into English. I don't have the option of receiving my messages in the language it is written in because it forces me to choose one language only, and it would need to be English because we live in the US. I'd like to receive my messages in the original language that is either English or Spanish rather than be locked to choosing English only. The translation will never be great, no matter the program. Many nuances in language change the meaning of messages, especially in education when parents are trying to communicate about their children.

**What problems is ParentSquare solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Time for communicating - it is very easy which frees up time to take care of other things

  ### 30. Excellent app for group communication

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Education Management | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** April 12, 2019

**What do you like best about ParentSquare?**

Remind is an easy way to send messages such as homework assignments, snow day information, or other class and school news. The creator can send and receive messages through it.

**What do you dislike about ParentSquare?**

The only negative I have found is that it is only effective if all members of the target group sign up for it.

**Recommendations to others considering ParentSquare:**

Definitely easy to use

**What problems is ParentSquare solving and how is that benefiting you?**

This app provides great communication between teachers and students as well as administrators and staff. Messages can be quickly and easily send to a whole group.

  ### 31. Remind review

**Rating:** 3.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Ashlyn L. | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** February 14, 2023

**What do you like best about ParentSquare?**

Remind is great for the price. For someone needing to reach a smaller capacity of people with little to no budget, Remind is the way to go.

**What do you dislike about ParentSquare?**

I didn't like the limiting amount of numbers that I could have in a list for the free version. However, I understand that with more features, money is likely to be needed.

**What problems is ParentSquare solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I am no longer using remind. I was using Remind in the non-profit organization where I am currently. But our need for users spiked in 2020 due to the pandemic, so we needed a platform that could do a bit more.
However, I

  ### 32. Great app for parents and teachers

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Christina D. | Office Manager, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** September 21, 2022

**What do you like best about ParentSquare?**

I like that I can communicate with my kid's teachers faster and more efficiently. The app makes it easy to send pictures and receive pictures from my teacher. It also seems more relaxed.

**What do you dislike about ParentSquare?**

I wish my teachers could see the messages as fast as I do as a parent for the reminder app. But unfortunately, my kid's teacher told me she has to log in to see the notes, and they aren't always logged in.

**What problems is ParentSquare solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I am not aware of any problems remind is solving. I also have not noticed any issues that need to be solved now.

  ### 33. Effective Solution for Large Group Communication

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Caleb N. | O, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** January 12, 2022

**What do you like best about ParentSquare?**

Remind is an effective and easy-to-use solution for large group communication. The ability to schedule messages ahead of time as well as add and remove people from groups easily makes it ideal for our setup.

**What do you dislike about ParentSquare?**

You cannot remove group leaders from a group even after they have left the organization. It requires us to start a new group when one of the leaders leaves. This makes it difficult when we have new leaders every year.

**Recommendations to others considering ParentSquare:**

Remind meets all of our needs for large group communication. It is moderately priced and works well for our educational setup.

**What problems is ParentSquare solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We are solving the problem of getting messages and links out to everyone quickly. This allows us to avoid large group texts, especially with and without iphones. It will enable us to send messages without bothering everyone with responses.

  ### 34. ParentSquare

**Rating:** 3.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Primary/Secondary Education | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** May 17, 2022

**What do you like best about ParentSquare?**

It was a super quick way to communicate with parents. I could check replies on my phone at home or wait until school to reply. More reliable than a student bringing a note in from home.

**What do you dislike about ParentSquare?**

My school now uses this as their primary form of communication. I hate that I can't save info for later use, like with emails. Sometimes when information is sent, I don't always have the time to read it right away. I missed out on things because they got lost in my "newsfeed" of communication.

**What problems is ParentSquare solving and how is that benefiting you?**

It was a great way to contact individual parents. I was also able to send prompt reminders to my whole class at the same time. This saved me lots of time! I had more parents respond to communication which was helpful.

  ### 35. Acceptable communication with room for improvement

**Rating:** 3.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Primary/Secondary Education | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** January 20, 2022

**What do you like best about ParentSquare?**

ParentSquare is a good way to keep a collection of communication. Built in translations can be helpful to reach multiple populations. Linking to an SIS to automatically populate groups to message is more helpful than inputting each email individually.

**What do you dislike about ParentSquare?**

ParentSquare doesn't save progress in drafts, so if you accidentally close or navigate away from the page, all work is lost. Picture and video attachments are not streamlined and are difficult to ensure they are sent properly. The amount of notifications can feel overwhelming to parents, which actually has them checking messages less frequently. You aren't able to send messages to only a select group of parents. You can send individual messages, but not groups, so email is still necessary in some cases.

**What problems is ParentSquare solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I can see who has viewed/opened a notification and can then target those who haven't read the communication. All mass communication is also stored in one spot, as opposed to searching email.

  ### 36. Two-Way Communication Messages with Remind

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Chris S. | C, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** November 16, 2021

**What do you like best about ParentSquare?**

Remind allows our school and district personnel to communicate with parents and other community members through text messages. I like that the product can auto-translate messages into other languages based upon the end-user's preferred language. I also like that the product enables me to schedule outgoing messages.

**What do you dislike about ParentSquare?**

I wish the product allowed me to schedule messages at the district level. I can currently schedule outgoing messages at the individual schools, but that requires me to copy and paste my content into the platform several times if I want to broadcast district-wide.

**What problems is ParentSquare solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We can communicate with our stakeholders via two-way messaging, giving us the ability to send messages and answer any questions related to that outgoing content. Since Remind uses SMS text messages, we can often contact parents and caregivers who we could not reach by phone or email in the past.

  ### 37. Safe & Efficient Communication

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Primary/Secondary Education | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** December 23, 2021

**What do you like best about ParentSquare?**

Remind allows me to contact my students and families without either party having to share their personal phone number. All messages and announcements are saved on Remind, which allows for full transparency of messages between students and their educators. It is easy to share documents (google docs, images, PDFs) with Remind.

**What do you dislike about ParentSquare?**

The free version of Remind has a 140 character limit which can be limiting when trying to get information out to students. However, that limit is only for the announcements to the whole class. The one-on-one messaging does not seem to have limits, which is useful. One downside to Remind is that it does not require students to log in with their school email or use their real name when joining. Similarly, when parents join Remind, they are not required to fill out who their student is, which can make it confusing when receiving messages from parents with different last names from their child. That being said, a simple work-around would be for teachers to explicitly require that the students/families use their full names when joining their class.

**What problems is ParentSquare solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Remind maintains privacy for both educators and students while still allowing for easy communication. Instead of having to email 150 students, I can post a pertinent and time-sensitive announcement that all students receive at the same time. This is useful for school events, deadlines, and any other information that students may have forgotten during the school day.

  ### 38. Love this platform

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Brian M. | English teacher, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** April 13, 2019

**What do you like best about ParentSquare?**

I love that I can have all of my classes organized and easy to find.

**What do you dislike about ParentSquare?**

Everything works perfectly. I’ve been using Remind for a long time, and I still love it.

**Recommendations to others considering ParentSquare:**

Stop looking and start using this app! It is absolutely perfect for anyone in education.

**What problems is ParentSquare solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Two-way communication with students and parents.
Students and parents are allowed to message me without seeing my personal cell phone number.

  ### 39. Remind is a great tool for teachers and students

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Janet C. | High School ASL Teacher, Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** September 30, 2021

**What do you like best about ParentSquare?**

I like that the information is both texted and emailed to me.

**What do you dislike about ParentSquare?**

This is a user complaint, but I sometimes get 5-6 "Remind"ers in a row and it can be overwhelming. Not an issue with the software.

**Recommendations to others considering ParentSquare:**

I think this is a great resource- in our school, there are 2 threads...one for students and one for parents. This is so helpful for the administration to be able to send out a quick and easy note that is also emailed. I love that my answering machine is no longer the tool for these sorts of communications. I also like that I can receive attachments and links. And...I can unsubscribe myself anytime and I don't have to give anyone my personal phone number.

**What problems is ParentSquare solving and how is that benefiting you?**

The way that it is currently being used, I am sent reminders of general events that are not important enough for me to post on my personal calendar, but that do help me remember school deadlines, dates, and meetings.

  ### 40. Reminding Made Easy

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Morganne M. | Educator, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** September 28, 2021

**What do you like best about ParentSquare?**

I love that I can send out a mass remind message to parents, but if they respond, it becomes a one-on-one conversation. This not only helps to not blow up other parents' phones but helps keep things confidential, too. I also love that almost any link or PDF I would need to include can be included in the text reminders to parents. It also helps create a quick and easy way to communicate with parents about anything that is going on in the classroom or at school.

**What do you dislike about ParentSquare?**

The only thing I dislike about Remind is that the initial reminder message has a character limit. It can be hard when you really need to stay professional sounding, and you only need a couple more words to get that point across. I also don't like the limit on the people you can remind for free. I get that they are a business, but (and this goes for any company that focuses on the education field), they really need to understand that teachers are the ones who usually pay for these "extras," not the school. And teachers barely have enough to support themselves without spending all kinds of money on their classrooms.

**Recommendations to others considering ParentSquare:**

My recommendation would be to allow more characters to be used in the original message. I understand that it is intended to be a short message, but if it is something that includes a day, time, and place, it can be tricky to fit it all into the character limit. I also want to recommend that they add to their limit of users in one "class" as well.

**What problems is ParentSquare solving and how is that benefiting you?**

The biggest problem that Remind helps to solve is getting parents in the loop through reminders. I always add parents and have them join the remind through me adding them. Then there is no longer an excuse about them or their student not knowing things like deadlines and upcoming events because I added them to the group through their device on file through the school as a way to reach them digitally. It was also great when we were virtual because I was able to send out copies of assignments and directions to parents easily and in a way that they had easy access to, with a direct line to me if they had any questions.

  ### 41. Remind makes it easy to send a text to your group!

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Carmen C. | Drama Coach, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** January 12, 2022

**What do you like best about ParentSquare?**

I like that I can set up multiple groups and send a text to one or more groups quickly and easily. I also like that I can send a message to an individual and add attachments.

**What do you dislike about ParentSquare?**

The only thing I dislike is the short amount of characters allowed and that an attachment reduces that number.

**Recommendations to others considering ParentSquare:**

Remind is a wonderful solution to quick and easy communication with students, parents, or staff. Well worth giving a try!

**What problems is ParentSquare solving and how is that benefiting you?**

It has made it so much easier to connect with my students without waiting for them to check emails or Google Classroom.

  ### 42. Seamless communication with Students and Parents

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Paul K. | Teacher, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** April 27, 2020

**What do you like best about ParentSquare?**

Integration with google classroom, use of sms, email and app based communication.

**What do you dislike about ParentSquare?**

Not all telecommunication providers support free SMS messaging in Canada, therefore some communication might be limited to the app or email which requires a data plan.

**Recommendations to others considering ParentSquare:**

If you are considering other platforms, consider the problem you want to solve. Remind is the best tool for communication with your stakeholders.

**What problems is ParentSquare solving and how is that benefiting you?**

In the midst of the COVID-19 crisis, communication with students and parents has never been more important. Remind allows for instant communication which confirmation of delivery and messages read.

  ### 43. Communication with Students' Parents

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Keegan W. | English Teacher, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** June 23, 2022

**What do you like best about ParentSquare?**

Instant and easy communication with parents.

**What do you dislike about ParentSquare?**

Parents/students had to sign up for the class instead of being pre-loaded by the district.

**What problems is ParentSquare solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Remind helps students' parents to receive instant communication with teachers for free.

  ### 44. Love Remind!

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** SARAH C. | Teacher, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** December 10, 2021

**What do you like best about ParentSquare?**

The privacy protection for educators and parents/students, while providing instant communication

**What do you dislike about ParentSquare?**

Nothing - this program has evolved steadily, in very intuitive ways that make communication with my students /athletes much easier

**Recommendations to others considering ParentSquare:**

Decide if you wants students to have the ability to contract ea b other - I turned this feature on while quarantining for my students

**What problems is ParentSquare solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Parent contact without email, and also answering students' questions in a more timely way. Allows coaches to update parents instantly get in touch which is essential

  ### 45. Keeps parents, students, and teachers on track

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Kelsey G. | Speech and language pathologist, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** October 11, 2021

**What do you like best about ParentSquare?**

The most helpful thing about Remind is that it easily helps keep parents, students, and teachers on track for assignments, tests, and other big projects throughout the school year. The teacher is able to input all of the due dates at the beginning of the year and delegate when the remind notifications will be sent out. I also like that it is free!

**What do you dislike about ParentSquare?**

Something I dislike about the Remind app is that it can be hard for parents and students to get connected to the app. I wish there was a QR code or a text with a link that could get send out that would automatically connect their accounts with the teacher account.

**What problems is ParentSquare solving and how is that benefiting you?**

A problem I am solving with Remind is that it helps relieve the burden of having to remember to remind students and families of due dates; if I take just a bit of time at the beginning of the year to input my due dates, the Remind app does the rest for me and notifies my families in the schedule that I create.

  ### 46. Easy Access and Communication

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Primary/Secondary Education | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** November 04, 2021

**What do you like best about ParentSquare?**

My whole site uses Parentsquare to communicate with our families. Each student and family member must sign up for Parentsquare at the beginning of the year. This ensures that teacher messages will be recieved. It is also easy to use, and I love that I can schedule posts in advance.

**What do you dislike about ParentSquare?**

I currently do not have any issues with Parentsquare. Before our site adopted it, I had to send emails through our grading system, which not everyone recieved.

**What problems is ParentSquare solving and how is that benefiting you?**

ParentSquare has made communication with parents and families very easy. Parents can receive updates via text, through the app, or an email. Since I send a ParnetSquare update every Sunday that explains our weekly agenda, it has limited the number of emails I receive about the work we do throughout the week. For a teacher, this is priceless!

  ### 47. Parent Square in Elementary School - Gifted Ed

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Elisha R. | Teacher, Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** May 17, 2020

**What do you like best about ParentSquare?**

I like that ParentSquare allows me to stay up to date on things going on at the school where I work. My principal will send messages about important things when she needs to communicate with us. I also like that parents can search for a teacher and send a message. Because I don’t have a classroom of kids, that is especially helpful. One parent who I have only met once was able to find me on ParentSquare during virtual learning and sent me a very sweet not for teacher appreciation week. It really made my day, and it was a great surprise.

**What do you dislike about ParentSquare?**

It is difficult to message groups of parents that are fluid. I work with gifted and advanced students, so not everyone is working on the same thing at all times. It would be nice to be able to have a feature that would allow me to use ParentSquare as quickly as a classroom teacher.

**Recommendations to others considering ParentSquare:**

For others considering ParentSquare, I would suggest deciding as a school on what platform to use. Parents do not love switching between platforms when they switch grade levels, so be sure to be on the same page as a school. It is important to have continuity between grade levels.

**What problems is ParentSquare solving and how is that benefiting you?**

ParentSquare is an easy way to send whole staff or large group communication without clogging up email. I get hundreds of emails a day, so one fewer email is great! Another benefit of ParentSquare is that parents can reach out to be without needing my personal contact information. It can be difficult to find email addresses for teachers, so ParentSquare mitigates that. It is also a platform that can be used across grade levels, so parents do not need to learn a whole new system each school year, which is very helpful for parent buy in.

  ### 48. Remind for Parents and Teachers

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Damaris C. | Local Missions Coordinator, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** September 07, 2021

**What do you like best about ParentSquare?**

I like the accessibility between educators and parents. It is helpful to be able to contact a teacher or a parent on the spot without having to wait until the end of the school day or for a phone call, or office hours.

**What do you dislike about ParentSquare?**

I don't like how you have to toggle between classes, and within those classes, there are various chat threads. I'd rather all the chat threads be available on one single page, rather than multiple.

**What problems is ParentSquare solving and how is that benefiting you?**

The problem I am solving with Remind is the communication problem and lack of access to educators and to parents.

  ### 49. Easy Communication

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Jared L. | Technology Specialist, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** January 25, 2022

**What do you like best about ParentSquare?**

Ability to easily send messages and communicate with large groups of people.

**What do you dislike about ParentSquare?**

Setting up a SIS sync has been somewhat difficult.

**What problems is ParentSquare solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Mass notifications to parents, students, and staff.

  ### 50. Great for communication...needs some work for sysadmins

**Rating:** 3.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Phil B. | IT Coordinator/CTE Instructor, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** April 13, 2021

**What do you like best about ParentSquare?**

I like how ParentSquare handles mass communication and SIS integration. They've made a lot of improvements to the interfaces as well as remediation of issues with students transferring between multiple districts using ParentSquare. A lot of work has gone into making it more useable and user-friendly from the end user standpoint.

**What do you dislike about ParentSquare?**

Simple things, such as remediating student issues with the student registration emails, continues to be a little frustrating. I have asked for an enhancement to put all the student management info and remediation issues in one spot, but it seems to still be all over the place. For instance, I can edit student user info under each individual school, but can't work out of the district level from that standpoint. Instead of going to the Admin tab and utilizing the Users section to remediate student email verifications in which the emails were rejected, I have to go to the full directory for the individual school, search for the exact name of the student and remediate registration issues from there...one at a time. When there are only a few items, this isn't so bad...however, when there are a lot of new students, this is very time-consuming as there is also no way to do mass remediations of this type.

**What problems is ParentSquare solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Student and parent communications at the same time with this program are highly efficient, and one of the most efficient I've seen, hence the higher grade regardless of the sysadmin issues.
