## LanSchool Reviews
  ### 1. Great when it works

**Rating:** 0.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Courtney S. | EC Director, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** June 02, 2023

**What do you like best about LanSchool?**

When it works, it is pretty good at managing students from surfing to websites when restricting the sites.

**What do you dislike about LanSchool?**

Customer service is not very helpful. Students do not consistently show up on the monitor when they are logged in. There is a lag and students are able to jump fromone page to another without the teacher seeing it. Lanschool also does not show window tabs. If a student has 5 tabs in a window, it only shows the one they are on. Lanschool also won't show when students are using computer products like the calculator. When math teachers are giving tests and students are not supposed to use calculator, the teacher needs to see the students using those products. New students will sometimes show up as expected, while others will never load on lanschool. The product is only available on more recent software.

**What problems is LanSchool solving and how is that benefiting you?**

It currently isn't working and we are looking for an alternative program.

  ### 2. Kinda ok

**Rating:** 1.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Education Management | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** May 23, 2023

**What do you like best about LanSchool?**

Most helpful is monitoring student use of technology, sending students private messages, and overall control over computers.

**What do you dislike about LanSchool?**

The lag time between what is on the student screen and what shows up in LanSchool is the least helpful. That lag time is a critical flaw that impedes my ability to keep students on task.

The program has frozen a few times, not allowing me to dismiss a class or start a new one. It seems to be happening more lately.

**What problems is LanSchool solving and how is that benefiting you?**

LanSchool helps solve problems of monitoring students' use of technology and their time on task.

  ### 3. experience

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Isabelle D. | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** June 29, 2023

**What do you like best about LanSchool?**

it can be used in real time and students can see what you see

**What do you dislike about LanSchool?**

can't see students who use their own device

**What problems is LanSchool solving and how is that benefiting you?**

LanSchool is solving classroom management problems, especially when it comes to students staying on task

  ### 4. I will sue lanschool for selling and using my info without permission

**Rating:** 1.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Easton G. | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** February 22, 2023

**What do you like best about LanSchool?**

its a good program and all but please review what I dislike about the program

**What do you dislike about LanSchool?**

I hate that they sell/use your info without people's permission I'm thinking of possibly suing them for doing that

**What problems is LanSchool solving and how is that benefiting you?**

nothing they need to stop selling/using my information

  ### 5. Fantastic Way to Keep Tabs on Student Work

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Pam Driscoll F. | Teacher, Primary/Secondary Education, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** March 16, 2022

**What do you like best about LanSchool?**

I like many aspects of this software - being able to privately message a student when you can see that they are not on the website or assignment they are supposed to be on is a favorite, but there are many features that I found beneficial.

**What do you dislike about LanSchool?**

I never learned how to update all of the remote computers from my main computer when updates were issued to the software, so that required time and effort duplicating the installs to every student computer.

**What problems is LanSchool solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Keeping students on task as well as being able to model for the students on their screens so that all could see the example clearly was a real help. Also, being able to project a particular student's screen to the others as examples of what to do or not to do without identifying the student was helpful.

  ### 6. Upgrade to air was a major step back.

**Rating:** 1.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** James J V. | Teacher

**Reviewed Date:** March 17, 2022

**What do you like best about LanSchool?**

Being able to monitor student computers.

**What do you dislike about LanSchool?**

Lanschool Air give a lot less control to the teacher than the past version I had. I can no longer control a student device, or look up internet history. I do not like the "upgrade" to Lanschool Air at all.

**What problems is LanSchool solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Nothing anymore, it has made things worse since the upgrade to Air.

  ### 7. Student Laptop Management

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Spencer B. | Teacher, Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** September 02, 2021

**What do you like best about LanSchool?**

LanSchool has been an absolute game-changer in my classroom. During virtual education and the pandemic, they became used to gaming or otherwise tuning out during class, then Googling all the answers once it came time to complete their assignments. This behavior carried over into the classroom this semester, and I have had to resort to LanSchool to manage it. Using LanSchool, I can block specific websites and applications during class, check in on students to ensure they are on task, and blank student screens when they need to focus on the front of the classroom.

**What do you dislike about LanSchool?**

LanSchool is one of the few programs that I cannot really think of a downside to using.

**What problems is LanSchool solving and how is that benefiting you?**

The big problem that I'm solving with LanSchool is minimizing student distractions from their laptops during class.

  ### 8. Lanschool Classroom Cyber control

**Rating:** 2.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** JONATHAN G. | Technology Application Instructor, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** July 18, 2019

**What do you like best about LanSchool?**

Lanschool allows teachers, any teacher to oversee individual student's engagement in activities. Teachers have the ability to monitor all student activity and engage students individually or the class as a whole.

**What do you dislike about LanSchool?**

Our district is somewhat behind the curve when it comes to using Lanschool wireless. More company and district collaboration is necessary to update and install the program for ease of teacher use. There were a number of times the program was not able to keep up with input requests.

**Recommendations to others considering LanSchool:**

Make sure your district or business IT department coordinates with Lanschool during the implementation process.

**What problems is LanSchool solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Keeping students on task and the ability to track information and present the information for conferences. Lanschool also allows users to communicate needs with administration as well.

  ### 9. Glitchy but useful when it worked

**Rating:** 2.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Melissa D. | Assistant Principal, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** October 15, 2021

**What do you like best about LanSchool?**

I liked the ease of logging on to see kids versus the program we have now.

**What do you dislike about LanSchool?**

LanSchool always went down. It lagged often. We checked to see if it was our system but it was not. It was the program

**What problems is LanSchool solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We were able to monitor students activity on their computer. It allowed us to lock the computer if they were on something they shouldn't be.

  ### 10. Best LanSchool management software

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Norven B. | Regional Information Communication & Technology (ICT), Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** September 27, 2021

**What do you like best about LanSchool?**

Able to make mentors make blended learning easier any time.

**What do you dislike about LanSchool?**

The affordability of the gadget to be used.

**Recommendations to others considering LanSchool:**

The Spyware management support system.

**What problems is LanSchool solving and how is that benefiting you?**

The NetSupport where internet provider in my country does not provide a 100% agreed signal.

  ### 11. A great tool to keep students in check

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Patricia M. | Teacher, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** November 13, 2020

**What do you like best about LanSchool?**

I find it a good feature that I can accurately keep an eye on all of the things that are being projected on the screens of the students in my class and block them as I see fit. It makes sure that everyone is trying their best and putting their full attention to the work at hand. If they are having trouble on their computer screen, I am able to remotely connect to their computer and control it to fix the problem that they are having. Another good feature is that I can screen share my screen to the screens of my students. By doing so, they can better see and understand the topic I am teaching.

**What do you dislike about LanSchool?**

I dislike how hard it is to get used to the software. It is not in the slightest "user friendly". Unfortunately, I'm not much of a tech geek so it took a lot of time to get used to and I had to ask some of my collogues how are also using it to give me a detailed explanation of LanSchool which only took away from the time I could be using it. Another problem is that remotely connecting to a computer takes a lot of time and it's responding time is the slowest I have ever seen.

**Recommendations to others considering LanSchool:**

LanSchool is perfect for those who want ensure good overall behavior of students when using technology for school. Furthermore, you can build a better relationship with the students as you can see by their screen, how they are progressing and what they need some help with.

**What problems is LanSchool solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Before LanSchool, I had to get up and personally check to see if everyone was doing their work and if anyone needed help with a problem. Now, I can check up on everyone by looking at their screens from the comfort of my desk. I can also remotely help them so it does embarrass them or cause a ruckus.

  ### 12. LanSchool changes teachers' lives

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Education Management | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** July 17, 2019

**What do you like best about LanSchool?**

Classroom management, ability to share screens, blocking websites, confidential chatting with students.

**What do you dislike about LanSchool?**

Unable to remote control Chromebook screens. Unable to pull keystrokes from Chromebooks.

**Recommendations to others considering LanSchool:**

Please make it possible to remote control and pull keystrokes from Chromebooks.

**What problems is LanSchool solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Keeping students on task is the largest problem this software addresses. This is a major benefit.

  ### 13. constantly improving platform.

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Nicholas P. | Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** June 28, 2020

**What do you like best about LanSchool?**

It is nice to centrally track, restrict the exposure and sharing of programs and pages on other screens. It helps to differentiate a lesson greatly as everyone actively engages in the subject. Students will look at my screen and follow my pattern in a small window. You don't have the problem that because of lighting issues or their classroom location, a student can't look at the monitor in advance.

**What do you dislike about LanSchool?**

It could be a little difficult to schedule lessons with many different teachers. Scripting is too technical to configure. A simple Quick Launch Transmission tool should be given to allow me to claim that you have these next computers in this room rather than open outdated configuration files.

**Recommendations to others considering LanSchool:**

I recommend the implementation of this platform, it is innovative and intuitive. makes the interaction between the teacher and the students very dynamic.

**What problems is LanSchool solving and how is that benefiting you?**

By limiting / removing constant distractors, all students can be held in charge. It is an instrument for helping teachers in the learning of students. Lack of student screens facilitates class unity and encourages a deeper comprehension of a concept which was difficult to do in the past without seeking any other way of making the student screen appear on the wall, having the class "meet" or having the student describes the issue audibly and hopes that the students will understand.

  ### 14. Makes My Life Easier

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** James A. | Business Education Teacher, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** June 25, 2020

**What do you like best about LanSchool?**

I like that this software allows me complete control over the screens in my classroom. I don't have to worry about getting up and walking around the classroom as much to monitor screens because I have all of the tools necessary to do that from the front of the room at my desk. I also really like the fact that I am able to control screens and devices from my computer, this gives me more control over what is going on in the room. My favorite feature would be that I am able to set a list of blocked websites that students are not able to visit on their computers. I am also able to put everyone on the same website or page, or open programs with the click of a button. It is very nice software that allows me more control and to worry less about little things.

**What do you dislike about LanSchool?**

The interface is not amazing and you have to go into menus sometimes to get features. Also when it freezes or gets buggy you have to completely close and reopen the program which can take some time to do.

**Recommendations to others considering LanSchool:**

See if all of the features offered are right for you. Also know that unless you pay yearly you will not get upgrades to new features in the future, but you will still have access to use it as it is installed.

**What problems is LanSchool solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Being able to monitor screens in my class without constantly walking around the room.

  ### 15. Good tool that could be great with the right updates.

**Rating:** 3.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Dylan B. | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** December 12, 2019

**What do you like best about LanSchool?**

The ability to web limit is a tool that works very well from us. Obviously the ability to monitor all student devices within a given classroom is the main function. It does serve that purpose very well; however it seems to be sort of laggy in most cases. Building class lists is a good way to ensure that you have all students "locked" into your Lanschool. In the elementary, building class lists are very easy as you don't usually have any reason to change the class. In the high school this is a little more difficult and with students changing classes, it's really up to the teach to keep on top of their rosters per class. Otherwise we do have situations where people bump into each other when trying to manage the class.

**What do you dislike about LanSchool?**

The crashing and unfriendly user interface. Mostly the fact that it doesn't open as a normal program and is hidden in the bottom right of Windows hurts. Our staff that is computer illiterate has a tough time understanding this. We try to have days where we try to show off more uses for Lanschool. Unfortunately, some people "lose" themselves in the menus even though it doesn't seem that difficult for typical computer savvy users.

**Recommendations to others considering LanSchool:**

Use the class list function to ensure that students can't remove themselves from the class on their own.

**What problems is LanSchool solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Ability to watch student devices during classes to ensure they're on task is a great benefit. Web limiting is a great tool in scenarios of insubordination.

**Official Response from Jess Menasian:**

> Hello Dylan - Thank you for the review and valuable feedback! We will pass that on to our Product Managers. Regarding the issues you mentioned, we released a new version (8.0.2.82) on 12/16/19. We recommend updating to this latest version as we are always improving performance with each new release. You can also contact support@lenovosoftware.com for assistance in resolving issues.

  ### 16. Device management made for teachers

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Chris P. | Technology Coordinator, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** July 17, 2019

**What do you like best about LanSchool?**

My teachers love the ability of LanSchool Air to integrate with Google Classroom making class management a piece of cake! The ability to 'curtain' the chromebook and also push out websites is great for the younger grades.

**What do you dislike about LanSchool?**

Still waiting for the ability to share teacher/student screens with the class.

**Recommendations to others considering LanSchool:**

If you are a G Suite for education user and utilize Google Classroom, this is the easiest and most effective product for student/device management in the industry

**What problems is LanSchool solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Prior to LanSchool Air, class/student management took way too much time and resulted in students not showing up, or showing as blank screen. Since rolling out LS Air, that problem has been solved increasing our teacher usage by over 100%

  ### 17. Works well with Windows, Macs and Chromebooks

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Patrick M. | K-12 CIAT Supervisor, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** July 17, 2019

**What do you like best about LanSchool?**

I really like the LIMIT WEB feature that allows teachers the control to set the sites they want their students to go to. They can set it and forget it, and be confident that LAN School will only allow the students to go to the sites the teacher has pre approved. The teacher is safe to move around the room and work in small groups knowing the other students are not accessing sites that are not allowed during their class.

**What do you dislike about LanSchool?**

Ther are some hiccups with the Chromebooks. Students can restart the Chromebooks (which only takes a few seconds) and when they come back online the teacher no longer sees the device in their console so the student is free from the teacher control.

**What problems is LanSchool solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Ther are some hiccups with the Chromebooks. Students can restart the Chromebooks (which only takes a few seconds) and when they come back online the teacher no longer sees the device in their console so the student is free from the teacher control.

The benefits are seen in the ability of each teacher to be able to set their own limit web for each class without having to wait for IT to add or remove sites to the larger content filter on campus. Also we can use dynamic class list so we provide a daily updated roster file from our SIS and the teachers simply points to that list to get their current classes.

  ### 18. LanSchool has proven to be a great classroom management tool for our teachers.

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Claudine A. | Coordinator of Technology Innovation, Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** July 10, 2019

**What do you like best about LanSchool?**

LanSchool helps teachers to minimize distractions and encourage students to stay on task when completing assignments. I love that teachers are able to communicate one to one with a student without drawing unwanted attention. LanSchool increases student engagement as well as provide differentiated learning in the classrooms.

**What do you dislike about LanSchool?**

I would not consider this a dislike, However, it would be great for students to be able to return their assignment to teachers after they have been completed. Also, it would be great to have more accessibility options for students. For instance, like immersive reader, and incentive for students who do a great job! (I.E stickers. emojies...etc)

**Recommendations to others considering LanSchool:**

I would recommend LanSchool to teachers who want to have engaged learners while being productive.

**What problems is LanSchool solving and how is that benefiting you?**

LanSchool has fostered growth for my students and have helped me manage and organize my lessons more efficiently. My students are able to stay on task and request help without the entire class knowing they need assistance. The show teacher screen is awesome because I know everyone is able to see what I need them to see and follow along.

  ### 19. Digital Management for Educators

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Primary/Secondary Education | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** May 18, 2020

**What do you like best about LanSchool?**

What I like best about LanSchool Air is the digital features such as monitoring a student's computer screen, viewing them all at once, and being able to easily send private messages to each student.

**What do you dislike about LanSchool?**

I dislike that I am not able to view student history.

**What problems is LanSchool solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Being able to communicate with each student through messaging to not disrupt the class while they are completing their classwork.

  ### 20. LanSchool for monitoring students

**Rating:** 3.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Primary/Secondary Education | Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** June 09, 2020

**What do you like best about LanSchool?**

Able to keep fidelity of educational practices.

**What do you dislike about LanSchool?**

It is sometimes difficult to monitor large groups.

**Recommendations to others considering LanSchool:**

Make sure staff is fully trained and are not just thrown into using the product.

**What problems is LanSchool solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Plagiarizing and making sure students are completing their own work.

Students know that they are unable to cheat.

  ### 21. Great resource

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Education Management | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** November 22, 2019

**What do you like best about LanSchool?**

I love being able to see all screens at once. I am able to push out website to all students at once. Sending private messages directly to students allows me to communicate with my students without disrupting the learning of others. In setting up LanSchool Air, I love the ability to sync with Google Classroom.

**What do you dislike about LanSchool?**

I wish I had the ability to view students' history or click/exit off different tabs that my students may have open.

**Recommendations to others considering LanSchool:**

Try it!

**What problems is LanSchool solving and how is that benefiting you?**

LanSchool Air allows fewer classroom disruptions, heightened classroom management, and the assurance that all students are on task at one time.

  ### 22. Lan School Air

**Rating:** 2.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Rachel M. | Teacher, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** August 10, 2019

**What do you like best about LanSchool?**

I like being able to blank screens, send messages to students and somewhere is the ability to limit and assign websites and bring students into lanschool if they haven't accpeted except I really hadn't had the time this year to figure that out. I know that the capacity to do so is there I jut have not yet figured it out. I like being able to view and monitor screens and make sure that they are on task.

**What do you dislike about LanSchool?**

I went from the regular version to the air and it actually seems like the air is harder to use. It's not really intuitive it's like I need to have someone sit down and show me how to do things instead of just clicking on a student screen and getting options of what I want to do that I can instantly apply. For example I can't just click on a student's screen and send a message I have to click somewhere else select the student from a menu and them send a message... I also used to just be able to have the window with the students screens open all the time or minimized in the background, but now if I am not using it for a while it needs to be refresed or I have to log back in. It also seems like a lot of the time I have quiet a few students whose screens are not showing on my monitor like it is easy for them to get around the monitoring software somehow.

**Recommendations to others considering LanSchool:**

to make sure you include a training session before launching to make sure that people can use it to its fullest potential.

**What problems is LanSchool solving and how is that benefiting you?**

It allows me to monitor and make sure students are on task and not doing things they shouldn't which is really important with so much technology at thier fingertips. I like how I can message students and personalize my instructions to them without having to do so in front of the whole class. Again I have problems with when I open up a classroom I always have several students who are not connected or showing active on my screen it seems like it is too easy for them to avoid being monitored.

  ### 23. I Got Catfished - A Love/Hate Story

**Rating:** 3.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Keli G. | Teacher, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** July 19, 2019

**What do you like best about LanSchool?**

Absolutely able to monitor (most) students’ computers and interact with them via instant message. For me, this is a life saver. Instead of calling a kid out in front of the entire class, I can message them directly and screenshot their screens, etc.

Interacting with a student via instant message/chat often deescalates the situation, and that’s a win in my book.

**What do you dislike about LanSchool?**

At my previous school, we had the full version of LanSchool. I’m the reason we researched and got this program. LanSchool Air is like seeing a really great profile on a dating website, connecting with the person via text/phone calls, and then meeting in person and realizing they were using their better looking sibling’s information. It lacks the ability to follow keystrokes, see previous sites visited, and control a student’s screen remotely. Also, the add/block/restrict function is not as useful in Air.

**What problems is LanSchool solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Defusing tense situations, screenshots, etc. Classroom management.

  ### 24. Lanschool Connection Server

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Scislaw J. | Technology Network Associate, Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** July 18, 2019

**What do you like best about LanSchool?**

As a Tech I love using Lanschool to manage our 1-1 classroom carts of 20-30 each Lenovo Yoga laptops. I ask students to leave yogas out of the carts and powered up when the go to Activity. All I have to do is walk into the classroom, sit at the teacher's desk, login to all 30 yoga laptops via Lanschool and hit run a program, open a website, or test an application.
Uses include: windows updates, restarts, Lenovo system updates for drivers, intel driver checks, test software programs by controlling all, sound tests, etc etc. Very fast, very simple. I logoff all or restart all and move on to the next classroom. Students take care of yogas when they return from Activity.
Teachers use it to monitor students, teach them how to do something, send encouraging notes, prompt them to get back on task, let the whole class know that they have 10 minutes left, blank the screens to get their attention, mute the sound, or share the work that another has done on their individual computer. Teachers simply LOVE Lanschool.
Students use lanschool to monitor each other, send questions to the teacher, display their work, and assist themselves with their own personal digital citizenship.

**What do you dislike about LanSchool?**

We have had some difficulties getting Lanschool Tech Console to work consistently in our environment. We have also been unsuccessful with the Lanschool reporting application to alert us to inappropriate student use of search engines.

**Recommendations to others considering LanSchool:**

Don't try to work without it.

**What problems is LanSchool solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Lanschool has created an amazing environment of digital citizenship here. Students always think twice before clicking because they know that they will be held accountable for every keystroke. It only takes one student in a grade level to spread the word to all that the teacher can discover all activities while on that computer. We project the lanschool classroom up on the big screen, all students can see what the other students are doing. They police each other, but they will also assist one another if they see that a fellow classmate is struggling to remember how to do something or cannot keep up. In the beginning it can be distracting but eventually all students stop looking and get to work. This frees the teacher up to focus on TEACHING!

  ### 25. Handy way to retain some control in a high school computer lab

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Pam F. | Business Teacher, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** July 18, 2019

**What do you like best about LanSchool?**

I most like being able to look at and control the students' computers. I often don't tell them the full capacity of what I'm able to do but they usually find out when I freeze their screens with a message that gets their attention. Using a student's computer as a demo for the other students is also quite handy.

**What do you dislike about LanSchool?**

Only downside is when not all of the computers have the updates installed. I would also like to be more familiar with everything it does because it's obvious that I'm not using it to its full potential.

**Recommendations to others considering LanSchool:**

EASY to install - just keep it updated on ALL computers. (i.e. when your IT people replace or make changes to the student computers, make sure this software is reinstalled on each one). Pretty user-friendly. Great when you can surprise the students by locking or taking over their computer. (i.e. You've told them to get out of a program or to shut down and they haven't done it, you just do it for them.) They don't know how much or little control you have, but this gives them a clue.

**What problems is LanSchool solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Student participation and/or attention is improved because I can lock them out of the computer.

  ### 26. Lanschool

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Betsy R. | CTE/IT Specialist, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** July 17, 2019

**What do you like best about LanSchool?**

We just started testing Lanschool in our District for 2 schools in the last school year. I have to say I love it. As an IT Specialist, having Lanschool installed on our managed devices makes my life so much easier for installing software, viewing issues, detecting problems, etc. My teachers are also having great results. They truly appreciate the private connections they can make with students that are off task, have a question, or need help with projects. I highly recommend this product to any school district that is looking for a remote assistance, and teacher monitor product for their classrooms.
I am recommending that we purchase this product for our other high schools in our district.

**What do you dislike about LanSchool?**

We are still testing this product, so I don't have issues at this time.

**Recommendations to others considering LanSchool:**

I would highly recommend trying this product. This seems to be one of the best. The support if great!

**What problems is LanSchool solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I really like using this product for remote assistance when authentication for software installation is the only issue required.

  ### 27. I like Lan School

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Kerri Z. | Technology coordinator, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** July 17, 2019

**What do you like best about LanSchool?**

I like being able to see what the kids are on and bring up their screen. I also like being able to freeze their screens. I like being able to limit what websites their own because they always try to get on gaming site or sites that are inappropriate.

**What do you dislike about LanSchool?**

I find it was difficult to keep up with updating classes as I teach three classes of six, three classes of seventh, and three classes of eighth grade. It was a bit of a learning curve learning how to import and save the kids. Also sometimes it was a bit of a pain in the neck if another teacher in the middle school did not release the students in their class. Then I would have to call him or her and ask them to dismiss that class from their roster.

**What problems is LanSchool solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We have found that many kids go on inappropriate websites. It was nice to be able to track the history of the students with the times and dates of inappropriate use. Many teachers though did not utilize this resource even though it was available at their fingertips. We offered training but it was after school. We also told our staff about the training videos available to them.

  ### 28. Great Admin Tool

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Phill S. | IT Director, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** July 17, 2019

**What do you like best about LanSchool?**

Monitoring students with LanSchool is easy and even fun, why should admins not have fun too? Preventing behaviour is much better than punishing and with LanSchool I get to be the lifeguard of the sea of digital information. Quick installs of other software is a breeze and communication in the classroom is enhanced greatly. Screenshots are extremely valuable in discipline situations and are irrefutable. Being able to see every desktop in the Tech Console is magical.

**What do you dislike about LanSchool?**

The selection of individual screens and releasing of remote control can be clunky and non-responsive sometimes crashing the interface.
Remote controlling and logging on as admin to multiple desktops from the Tech Console can be tricky if desktops screens are different size/resolution.

**Recommendations to others considering LanSchool:**

Do not wait get it now it may save a life and at minimum keep your students on task.

**What problems is LanSchool solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Student accountability and even teacher accountability are much greater with LanSchool. Excuses for not watching online activity have all but vanished. Students do not even try which means more time spent on assignments and learning.
Bullying and malicious behavior has dropped dramatically. State testing browsers can easily be installed and updated without going to each machine saving time and money.

  ### 29. My favorite tool for Computer Lab Management

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Leonardo P. | Technology Teacher, Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** July 17, 2019

**What do you like best about LanSchool?**

LanSchool gives me the control I need to make my classroom work while being engaged and focused on assignments, it has highly improved my students work and scores.
Also, the fact that I can screenshot my student's activity was a great tool for discipline and parent's conference. It helped a lot when small children from primary classes came to practice their own programs like I-Station, because LanSchool has helped me to log students at once, that saved a lot of time for teachers and students as well.

**What do you dislike about LanSchool?**

Some latency while watching my student's screens. I needed to refresh sometimes to see the current activity of my students. Sending message to individual students was not effective in my own experience.

**Recommendations to others considering LanSchool:**

Survey your school needs, it is important in order to get the write subscription rate.
Have someone with some IT knowledge to help installing both teacher's and student's version of LanSchool.
Reach to LanSchool technical support, they were very useful when I was by myself installing the software in our stations.

**What problems is LanSchool solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Student's attention is the most important key in my classroom, before LanSchool some students were not following teacher's instructions and were logging in their computers before others. With LanSchool I ensure every single student is on the same page.

  ### 30. Loving This Interactive Technology

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Kara B. | Language Arts Teacher, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** July 17, 2019

**What do you like best about LanSchool?**

I love that I am able to limit the sites students can use on different projects. It helps students focus, and it helps remind them to be honest about what we are trying to do in the classroom. To me as a teacher, they should be focused on the task at hand.

**What do you dislike about LanSchool?**

I wish the keystroke alerts was better in tune with what students are actually looking up. I was getting hundreds of emails every day just because some words were within words for the list I had added on the Keystroke Alert.

**Recommendations to others considering LanSchool:**

I would recommend using LanSchool to all teachers as it allows one to keep the students on task and to let them know that we can 'see' what they are doing (maybe making them a bit more honest and doing what is being asked!).

**What problems is LanSchool solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I have realized that it’s a collaborative tool. You can have your own screen as a teacher and push it onto the students’ screens, or teachers could type a question and have it shoot up onto every screen and every student could answer.

  ### 31. Great Product if You Have IT Support

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Kathleen M. | teacher, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** July 17, 2019

**What do you like best about LanSchool?**

What's great about this is that students are accountable for the work they do on computers. I didn't even have to check most of the time, but if a student was off-task, I could send them a silent message instead of calling them out in front of the class. There are other great features, such as quizzes and being able to blank screens when you need everyone's attention.

**What do you dislike about LanSchool?**

We have had trouble with installation. On our laptops and with our network, we need to have our IT people cooperate, whic has been challenging. Lenovo's tech support is awesome, but we reached a point where they couldn't help us and our IT department was reluctant to help.

**Recommendations to others considering LanSchool:**

Before purchasing, be sure your IT department understands the requirements of the program and is willing to work with you. It is not necessarily easy for one or two teachers to install and use on their own.

**What problems is LanSchool solving and how is that benefiting you?**

This solves the problems of kids getting distracted when on computers or devices. It keeps kids on task. It also shows me when kids are struggling, but may not want to ask for help. When students are drafting essays, for example, I can see which lids are having trouble and can do some one-on-one teaching with them.

  ### 32. Useful Classroom Tool

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Cara D. | Lead Teacher , Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** July 16, 2019

**What do you like best about LanSchool?**

I use Lanschool to give my students fast survey's and quizzes. It is fast, easy and the results are immediate, they provide feedback to myself and my students in a manageable format that we can grasp and use ASAP. As well, I use Lanschool to monitor my students progress on class projects while they are using technology within the classroom. Lanschool has so many different aspects and tools, test writing too. I like the testing format because it will automatically grade the assessments for you and allows for different types of response from your kids.

**What do you dislike about LanSchool?**

Honesty, the front-end work, loading the students into the site, this does take time for each class. However, once the kids are loaded for the year, it's done and you do not have to think of it again. Also, I would love a face to face training to really dig deep into ALL the benefits of Lanschool, there are so many and I feel like I only touch on a few.

**What problems is LanSchool solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I do love that Lanschool allows me to see when my kids are off task, the accountability is nice! I feel like it places true responsibility on the children to be using technology correctly (which is so needed these days). Of course, this is a great help inside a class when you have a room full of students working on computers and different projects, you want them to "be doing the right thing" and Lanschool encourages this behavior.

  ### 33. Great tool to ensure that students are on task

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** R. L. | Teacher, Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** July 11, 2019

**What do you like best about LanSchool?**

One of the best things about LanSchool is that it helps teachers ensure students working on computers are actually on task. The program lets you monitor what the student is doing as well as the web content used by students. It allows teachers to turn off unauthorized games and or websites. Teachers can type questions or comments to students as they work to help guide the student's learning. Another great feature is that students can communicate with you if they have questions on an online task. This program is a must have for any school that is using computers one to one with each student. My school gives all students computers for online tasks. In today's technological world teaching students to work on the computer in multiple digital media is imperative to ensuring a well balanced education that allows students to be college and career ready.

**What do you dislike about LanSchool?**

It is often hard to navigate from one student to the next. I often have to reload in order to do so. Perhaps there is a better way to make the transition.

**What problems is LanSchool solving and how is that benefiting you?**

LanSchool makes students accountable for being on task. They know we have it and use it, and the consequences that come with misusing computers in the classsroom.

  ### 34. LanSchool is a core tool in our school district.

**Rating:** 3.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Jim L. | Assistant Director of Online Learning, Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** July 11, 2019

**What do you like best about LanSchool?**

Our teachers who have mobile or desktop labs love being able to push links to each computer shortening the time it takes to make digital instruction effective. They also like being able to use the thumbnail view of each computer and show that over a projector so that students police themselves. LanSchool helps lessen students not on task.

**What do you dislike about LanSchool?**

We're now using more Chromebooks than PC or Mac laptop. Teachers have complained to us that LanSchool functions differently on a Chromebook than on a desktop and that they wish the features would be identical between devices. Furthermore, they say LanSchool on Chromebooks is "glitchy" functioning on one Chromebook but not on another.

**Recommendations to others considering LanSchool:**

LanSchool is a staple in the Education industry. If you are using Mac's, PC's and Chromebooks like we are, you'll appreciate what LanSchool can do for your organization.

**What problems is LanSchool solving and how is that benefiting you?**

After we updated to the latest version of LanSchool and pointed each desktop, laptop and Chromebook back at a server in each school, LanSchool seems to work much better traversing the many subnets running in each building.

  ### 35. Fabulous tool, wish it was easier to navigate

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Megan H. | Middle School Mathematics Teacher, Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** July 10, 2019

**What do you like best about LanSchool?**

LOVE that this gives me control over my classroom. When I have 30+ students on laptops, it can be nearly impossible to monitor everyone. I often project all of my students screens on my board so that I can roam around my classroom and monitor at the same time. I also love that I can block websites and limit website use for my class. This makes my job so much easier.

**What do you dislike about LanSchool?**

Every time I go to use LanSchool at the beginning of the year I need to get assistance setting it up. I wish this was easier to navigate. Also when I switch between classes, my LanSchool often freezes. Maybe there is something I am missing or a reason that this happens, but this can get old when I can’t monitor my next class because my screen is frozen.

**What problems is LanSchool solving and how is that benefiting you?**

LanSchool functions as almost another adult in the room. I get another set of “eyes” on my students. This eliminates so many discipline problems because I can block and control websites before the problem.

  ### 36. Lanschool Awesome for Classroom Management!

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Education Management | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** July 20, 2019

**What do you like best about LanSchool?**

I like LanSchools ability to show my screen to student screens so as we practice a new skill for the first time they can see my screen in a small window on theirs and follow my model. No more do you run into the issue of a student not being able to see the screen up front due to lighting issues or their position in the classroom. It's also a great tool to allow me to showcase a student's screen to the board or everyone elses screens so they can name specifically what is done well or help that student get better by pushing their own understandings further!

**What do you dislike about LanSchool?**

Assembling classes for multiple different teachers can be a bit of a pain. Set up and dumping fresh installs into Channel 0 or Channel 1 and then having to differentiate what computer is what can be confusing for teachers the first time during setup. Also from a Tech perspective setup using the scripts is too technical. There should be an easy Quick Start Distribution tool that just allows me to say "Put These Next Computers Into This Room with these settings" as opposed to opening archaic config files. Also, website blocking on computers doesn't always work well even though we have computer updates turned off so compatibility issues shouldn't be happening. I ran a LanSchool software update and web blocking no longer works. Computers are blocked from updating browsers and OS so this is definitely a LanSchool issue.

**What problems is LanSchool solving and how is that benefiting you?**

LanSchool should not be a replacement for good classroom management. LanSchool is a tool to aide teachers in student learning. Showing student screens who are struggling pushes class cohesiveness and allows a deeper understanding around a concept to emerge that was previously hard to do without finding a way to get the student screen on the board some other way, having the class "gather round" or having the student audibly explain their problem and hope students understood.

  ### 37. LanSchool in high school computer lab

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Elaine B. | CTE instructor, IT program, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** July 18, 2019

**What do you like best about LanSchool?**

I find LanSchool to be invaluable in my lab. I teach grades 9 & 10 and it is great to help keep them on task. Sometimes I need to use the Blank Screen feature to guarantee they are not distracted by the computers.

**What do you dislike about LanSchool?**

Sometimes there is a lag in releasing control of machines. Also I have struggled with the installation & upgrading; if I do not remember or document the original installation location, then I cannot uninstall the software.

**Recommendations to others considering LanSchool:**

Take advantage of the online documentation and other resources. Take the time to experiment with the various features; I am always finding additional ones that are so very useful.

**What problems is LanSchool solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I have used the screen capture feature to capture shots of students behaving inappropriately. This past year I had one who was especially distractible and the screenshots were great when meeting with his support team.

  ### 38. I'd hoped for more.

**Rating:** 3.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Education Management | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** September 12, 2019

**What do you like best about LanSchool?**

I like 100% of the ideas behind LANSchool. Monitoring a lab, executing tasks, remote controlling, key monitoring....a dozen other things...The overarching idea is terrific.

**What do you dislike about LanSchool?**

LanSchool seems desperately slow, even with computers in their most up to date state.
I wish in the right moment, a LanSchool staffer was with me in the lab. Trying to monitor logging in, huge lag, Refresh tool does not work at a good pace. Now that we've switched to Win 10, showing the teacher's screen to students results in a black screen, rather than the program. The same can happen when remote controlling. Videos can't be played from the lead computer to students' without it being downloaded ahead of time.
It's a lot of frustrations that can't all be blamed on the set up of our lab.

**Recommendations to others considering LanSchool:**

-

**What problems is LanSchool solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Speed seems to be a facet across all aspects in the system. Features seem to get disabled without any reasonable explanation. I've read the books and watched the tutorials.
Benefits - keystroke monitoring to retrieve deleted info has been great, shutting down the lab at once - small improvements

  ### 39. LanSchool, a must-have for any computer lab!

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Heather A. | Educational Technology Specialist, Education Management, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** July 18, 2019

**What do you like best about LanSchool?**

LanSchool has been a lifesaver for me since I started teaching computer skills classes. Yes, I can see what my kids are doing, and make sure that they're on task; I can roll out questions and files and such too. But the real beauty for me is the ability to demo projects and skills and have everyone's attention. Oh, and to be able to remote in to a students machine to help them out when they're stuck is a plus, too!

**What do you dislike about LanSchool?**

There's not a whole lot I don't like. Sometimes there are little things like the histories not being saved, but overall LanSchool is a positive experience. I'm not sure how class lists can be put to their best use... but that's not really a dislike.

**What problems is LanSchool solving and how is that benefiting you?**

LanSchool has made me an excellent classroom manager. That's huge!

  ### 40. Wireless issues

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Carlos R. | Assessment Technician and Computer Resources, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** July 16, 2019

**What do you like best about LanSchool?**

Lanschool is great to monitor students and share documents, screens and files with students.

**What do you dislike about LanSchool?**

We have more than 200 laptops (3 or 4 different models) in our school and it seems that lanschools do not work as good with wireless connections. With wired computers Lanschools works great but not with wireless. The teachers with laptops can only see few of those laptops in their Lanschools teachers console.

**Recommendations to others considering LanSchool:**

Great solution to monitor and control students while using computers, also great to share files, documents and screen with students. Issue when using laptops (wireless).

**What problems is LanSchool solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Lanschools help our teachers monitor students and share files quicker with students. With the option of blocking all students screen by the teacher, the teacher can teach with less students distractions.

  ### 41. Tedious setup, but worthwhile

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Education Management | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** July 30, 2019

**What do you like best about LanSchool?**

Once Lanschool is set up (more on that later) it is very helpful in the class. You can do the usual monitoring of students and taking control of computers, but it has many useful teaching purposes too. You can show all students one computer as an example. You can push out specific web sites for students to get to quickly. You can talk to all or one student in headphones (they freak out the first time!). You can freeze all computers for lecture/discussion when they are not needed.

**What do you dislike about LanSchool?**

Set up is tedious. We use Infinite campus and the importing, exporting, changing file names, renaming, etc. for each class (including when you switch at semester) takes extra time. I have yet to figure out how to make the web site limiting work. I have desktops, but when on Chromebooks, the capabilities are more limited.

**Recommendations to others considering LanSchool:**

Great product for a lab setting. Not as useful for Chromebooks

**What problems is LanSchool solving and how is that benefiting you?**

This does not mean you can just sit at your desk and run class. You will still need to make rounds, but this is a tool that does help instruction and allow you to do many more things and more easily. It helps classroom management because I make students aware of what it can do, so they don't know when I am watching or not. It is also helpful to take away the distraction of computers by freezing them when you need the students' attention. i love when I find a cool web site, I can just push it out to them. I also like the question feature for simple things like, " Do you need more time on this assignment?" to assess where students are.

  ### 42. Class operations centralisation.

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Arabella G. | Lecturer, Higher Education, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** September 01, 2019

**What do you like best about LanSchool?**

The provision of dashboard, multiscreen overview of my students currently using it making me look like a super server.

**What do you dislike about LanSchool?**

It lags alot mostly when the students are displaying something for me on my laptop that is really bad because actually its the main point for its operations.

**Recommendations to others considering LanSchool:**

The best platform to get in charge over your students to monitor what they are doing and help when needed it is any teachers dream platform.

**What problems is LanSchool solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Keeping check of my students so as to see what they are doing and aiding those who are stuck on some tasks.

  ### 43. LanSchool use at K-8 School

**Rating:** 3.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Education Management | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** July 23, 2019

**What do you like best about LanSchool?**

We have been surprised at the ease of learning the new system with our staff members. Teachers are able to connect right away with the system and begin using the monitor features with little training. Then we are able to go over other features as they become comfortable with the system and want to expand their use. Many teachers are asking within a week... what else can it do.

**What do you dislike about LanSchool?**

As the technology specialists in the building the process to roster the students into classes is cumbersome. We use and SIS called Option C and we have to manipulate the data a lot in order to get it ready to put into LanSchool. Not to mention that when students rotate classes at the trimester we are doing the same thing again. It would be beneficial to have bulk scheduling options, such as all of homeroom 8A roster, can be copied over to other classes, with a click of a couple buttons. Not having to repeat them over and over on a spreadsheet.

**Recommendations to others considering LanSchool:**

My recommendation would be that you take a look at your equipment and the goals of your company for the next 5 years. LanSchool is very heavy with setup from year to year, both on the devices and in rostering the classes. Once installed and setup, we had little to no issues with the software, just took quite some time to get it up and running. At the time we started IOS support was not available and we were having to look at a second system to support our fleet of I Pads. Now that an app is available we are interested to see the benefits of utilizing everything under one provider.

**What problems is LanSchool solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Active monitoring of students on devices. We will also try to utilize the LanSchool IOS app this year. Just being able to have some piece of mind that the students know they are being monitored and less likely to get off task.

  ### 44. educational

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Education Management | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** July 18, 2019

**What do you like best about LanSchool?**

For the requirements of our k-12 district, by far we find Student Lab management to be the most useful feature of LANschool. The ability to simultaneously log in any number of machines at once is frankly invaluable. "Log on selected machines" is easily the most used feature for me.

**What do you dislike about LanSchool?**

There are many upsides to LANschool, but if I had to point out a shortcoming, it would be the occasional freezing, especially when controlling multiple machines at once. When LANschool freezes, I find the only recourse to get it functioning again is to kill the process in the task manager. Beyond that, I suppose the UI has a fuzzy look that makes it feel like outdated software. When controlling a machine, the action is choppy, where other management software Ive used provide a fluid control experience.

**Recommendations to others considering LanSchool:**

LANschool is a fantastic tool. While familiarizing yourself with its quirks and functionality, if you keep a mindset of patience, it will make your life much easier.

**What problems is LanSchool solving and how is that benefiting you?**

LANschool saves trmendous time, energy, and subsequently money by streamlining our lab management capabilities. This is especially important for us during State Testing

  ### 45. Effective oversight solution for 1:1 devices in the classroom

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Primary/Secondary Education | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** July 17, 2019

**What do you like best about LanSchool?**

I love having the ability to see all screens, to share a screen to all, to white list or blacklist sites for a specific class, I can't even tell you all the great features. More details below!

**What do you dislike about LanSchool?**

I'm still not sure how to create class lists for different classes, but I know it is possible. FOrtunately, my lab has 35 desktop computers so I don't need to switch class lists, but our other teachers will need this. I'll be researching it soon!

**Recommendations to others considering LanSchool:**

Look at reviews - LanSchool has all the features we need and a few we didn't even consider (test lockdown, etc.). It's well worth the cost. Also consider hands-on PD for the faculty who will be using it.

**What problems is LanSchool solving and how is that benefiting you?**

For 5 years, I ran K-8 computer skills classes and middle school computer science classes in a lab with no oversight. I was continuously walking around the room and still unable to keep everyone on task and prevent students from going to sites they shouldn't be on. Now, I can white-list a certain site or sites so that students can only go to that site during a lesson, I can blacklist certain sites or apps, I can push a web page to all computers to make sign-in a breeze, I can lock down computers when giving tests, I can share my screen, I can message students and individually lock down/redirect their computer. I can log off or log on a lab full of computers with a few mouse clicks. And I can see every single screen at one time. It has changed my classroom SO much for the better.

  ### 46. Makes controlling student workstations easier

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Higher Education | Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** July 17, 2019

**What do you like best about LanSchool?**

The best part is not needing any extra hardware to control the workstations. The software has many features that give almost full control of the student workstations to the faculty members. They are able to see what the students are doing as well as specifically limit them from doing certain activities such as opening programs or visiting websites.

**What do you dislike about LanSchool?**

Because of all the additional features offered (good thing), it can make it complex trying to figure out how to control everything that is able to be controlled. Sometimes the options can seem to be buried in the software and difficult to find. That said, the support staff is more than happy to answer questions that resolve this issue.

**Recommendations to others considering LanSchool:**

Lanschool website has plenty of resources, tutorials, webinars and documentation on their product. Looking over those resources will allow you to see if Lanschool is the solution you need. Reaching out to their support staff is easy and they are glad to be of help.

**What problems is LanSchool solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Classroom and technology management. Lanschool allows our faculty to monitor student computer usage as well as limit usage during lecture time. Faculty are able to keep students on task, which can be difficult to do when students have access to a computer during lecture or exam time.

  ### 47. Easy to navigate

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Primary/Secondary Education | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** July 27, 2019

**What do you like best about LanSchool?**

I liked that I could view each student's work, block them or send them messages whenever it deemed necessary. They responded when I froze their screen and asked them to return to their desks for transition. I also liked the feature in which you can push websites.

**What do you dislike about LanSchool?**

It was very slow to maneuver at first and the website would freeze. The application wouldn't work so I discontinued using it until I contacted your support team.

I also think the instant messaging can be much more efficient. Perhaps a flashing symbol to show when students have messaged you.

**Recommendations to others considering LanSchool:**

The advice I can give is....wen students know you are using LanSchool Air, they are more likely to stay on task and complete their assignments.

**What problems is LanSchool solving and how is that benefiting you?**

The problem noted in the last question were addressed. The benefit is that it did begin to run quicker and the problems subsided.

I like that I can view student search history and send messages to individual students.

**What do you dislike about LanSchool?**

Students can disconnect their Chromebooks.

**Recommendations to others considering LanSchool:**

There is a 25-60 second lag depending on the speed of the school network.

**What problems is LanSchool solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I'm realizing how often students have another tab opened in the background. With Lanschool, I can walk around with my computer while I'm helping other students. This helps me to see what is going on no matter where I am in the room.

**Official Response from Jess Menasian:**

> Hello - Thank for your review! Regarding the issues you mentioned, please contact support@lenovosoftware.com and they will be more than happy to help resolve them.

  ### 49. Good Classroom management software

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Darin L. | System Administrator, Education Management, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** July 18, 2019

**What do you like best about LanSchool?**

Teachers can view students' screens and control their attention better using this software. Works on any platform (Mac, Windows, ChromeOS). Love how Lenovo is including a license with their Chromebooks.

**What do you dislike about LanSchool?**

Wishing it were easier to configure for teachers, functionality on chromeOS is limited (Google's fault not Lanschool's).

**Recommendations to others considering LanSchool:**

Check out other options but this is a good cross-platform solution, especially affordable when it comes with a Chromebook.

**What problems is LanSchool solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Teachers are able to view screens, chat one on one with students, send websites out to view all together. This has increased the productivity of students and the management of so many screens. Has helped investigations as well when students are doing nefarious things.

  ### 50. Benefits of LanSchool

**Rating:** 3.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Tammie M. | ESE/VE Teacher, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** July 11, 2019

**What do you like best about LanSchool?**

What I love about LanSchool is that you are able to see classes directly related to your class and students that you are monitoring their time on task. Letting students know that you can see what they are doing, will indirectly force them to complete their daily task.

**What do you dislike about LanSchool?**

What I dislike is that the student you view are specific to you only. VE Teachers and Support Facilitators should have access to all students on their grade level or all ESE Students. When you are testing or completing practice test, you can see all students.

**Recommendations to others considering LanSchool:**

Make program user friendly

**What problems is LanSchool solving and how is that benefiting you?**

There were times it didn’t show all of my caseload.
