# What's the best flipbook software for turning PDF catalogs into interactive digital publications?

I've been helping a marketing team figure out what's the best flipbook software for turning PDF catalogs into interactive digital publications, since their print catalog was just getting uploaded as a flat PDF and nobody was engaging with it online. The distinction that matters is how much interactivity gets added beyond the page-flip animation itself, links, video embeds, shoppable product tags. Here's what stood out in the Flipbook category on G2.

FlippingBook. Converts PDFs into page-flip publications with clickable links and embedded video support. Best for teams wanting a straightforward PDF-to-flipbook conversion.

Flipsnack. Adds interactive elements like buttons and forms directly onto catalog pages, useful for catalogs meant to drive action, not just reading. Best for catalogs with calls to action built into pages.

Issuu. Wide distribution and discovery features on top of the flipbook format, useful if you want the catalog found by new readers, not just shared directly. Best for publications wanting organic discovery.

Joomag. Combines flipbook creation with broader content management, useful for teams publishing catalogs alongside other digital content regularly. Best for teams publishing multiple digital documents on a schedule.

RELAYTO AI. Leans further into interactive storytelling than a traditional flipbook, with AI-assisted layout on top of the uploaded content. Best for teams wanting more design automation than a standard converter.

Worth noting this category is smaller than most software categories on G2, so the review pool per product is thinner than you'd see in something like CRM. Worth trying a free tier before committing, since a lot of these products differ more in editor feel than in feature checklists.

For anyone who's converted a print catalog into a flipbook, did readers actually engage with the interactive elements, or did most people just flip through it like a PDF anyway?

<p>I’d look beyond whether the interactive elements can be added and ask whether anyone actually uses them. A catalog can have videos, links, and product tags everywhere and still behave like a PDF if readers simply flip through and leave. Has anyone compared engagement before and after adding shoppable or interactive elements and found a particular feature that genuinely changed reader behavior?</p>
