## Jitsi Reviews
  ### 1. Reliable Open-Source Video Meetings Without Unnecessary Complexity

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** VINAY P. | Mechanical Design Engineer, Design, Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** May 30, 2026

**What do you like best about Jitsi?**

What I like best about Jitsi is its browser-based approach and ease of access. In my work, I often need to join or host meetings quickly for project discussions, troubleshooting sessions, knowledge sharing, and stakeholder communication. Being able to create a meeting link and have participants join without installing software or creating accounts significantly reduces setup time.

Screen sharing is one of the features I use most frequently. During technical reviews, design discussions, and issue resolution sessions, it allows participants to collaborate efficiently and review information in real time. I also appreciate the platform's privacy controls and open-source flexibility, which provide more control compared to many commercial alternatives.

From a performance perspective, Jitsi generally delivers stable audio and video quality for everyday meetings. The onboarding experience is minimal because participants can join directly through a browser. The absence of licensing costs also provides strong value, particularly for organizations seeking a cost-effective collaboration solution. Its integration flexibility and customization options are additional benefits that support a variety of workflows.

**What do you dislike about Jitsi?**

One area that could be improved is performance consistency during larger meetings. For smaller team discussions, the platform works well, but larger sessions may occasionally experience audio or video quality fluctuations depending on participant count and network conditions.

The user interface is functional but could be modernized in certain areas to improve discoverability of advanced features. Additional built-in workflow integrations and more advanced meeting management capabilities would also be beneficial for organizations with complex collaboration requirements.

**What problems is Jitsi solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Before using Jitsi, organizing meetings often involved account requirements, software installations, and additional setup steps that slowed collaboration. This created unnecessary friction when arranging quick discussions or inviting external participants.

Jitsi simplified this process by providing browser-based video conferencing with simple meeting links. Teams can collaborate, share screens, conduct training sessions, review projects, and communicate with stakeholders without requiring extensive setup or licensing overhead.

As a result, meeting coordination has become faster, onboarding new participants requires less effort, and communication is more accessible across teams. The platform helps reduce operational costs while maintaining reliable collaboration capabilities, which improves productivity and supports more efficient project execution.

  ### 2. Jitsi Simplified Our Support, Training and Collaboration Workflows

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Nikita J. | Programmer, Information Technology and Services, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** May 25, 2026

**What do you like best about Jitsi?**

What I like most about Jitsi is its simple, user-friendly interface. It offers stable video and audio quality, makes it easy to set up meetings, and supports smooth collaboration features like screen sharing and chat. It also provides secure communication without requiring complex setup. It is convenient for team collaboration and remote meetings.

**What do you dislike about Jitsi?**

One thing I dislike about Jitsi is that the call quality can occasionally become unstable during large meetings or low internet connectivity. Sometimes there are minor issues with audio synchronization and performance compared to other conferencing tools.

**What problems is Jitsi solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Jitsi has helped us improve customer support, onboarding, integrations, and AI-powered collaboration across our organization. Before implementing Jitsi, managing virtual meetings, onboarding sessions, customer interactions, and tool integrations was challenging due to limited scalability, security concerns, and high communication costs.

With Jitsi, we can now conduct secure and seamless video meetings for customer support, employee onboarding, team training, and AI-enabled collaboration workflows. The platform integrates smoothly with our existing tools and systems, making communication and workflow management more efficient. Its screen sharing, recording, chat, and real-time collaboration features have improved coordination across distributed teams.

Jitsi has significantly improved productivity by enabling faster issue resolution, smoother onboarding experiences, and better collaboration between teams and customers. The easy integration capabilities, open-source flexibility, and reliable performance have also helped reduce operational costs while maintaining privacy and data control. Overall, it has enhanced communication efficiency, streamlined workflows, and created a better experience for both employees and customers.

  ### 3. Secure, Self-Hostable Video Conferencing with Room for Growth

**Rating:** 3.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Florian B. | Senior Software Engineer, Information Technology and Services, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** May 13, 2026

**What do you like best about Jitsi?**

What I value most about Jitsi is the complete infrastructure control paired with robust privacy and open-source flexibility — it aligns perfectly with our engineering protocols and strict GDPR standards at Celonis SE. The biggest advantage is being able to self-host entirely on our own AWS and Kubernetes stack. All meeting traffic, session data, and recordings stay within our EU-based environment, with zero third-party exposure. As a German enterprise tech company, this completely eliminates GDPR and data residency concerns, something mainstream commercial conferencing tools can’t match without complex, costly enterprise agreements. I also love that it’s fully browser-native. There’s no mandatory app download or forced account creation. Team members, remote engineers, and external contractors can join any meeting just by clicking a link. It cuts down on onboarding friction and works flawlessly for quick code reviews, ad-hoc technical syncs, and architecture discussions. On top of that, Jitsi has no per-user licensing fees. It lets us scale video collaboration across our large engineering team effortlessly, with no extra overhead or recurring costs.

**What do you dislike about Jitsi?**

While Jitsi excels at privacy and self-hosting, it still has noticeable drawbacks for enterprise daily use. First, native enterprise integrations are extremely limited. It doesn’t connect seamlessly with our core workflow tools like Jira, Confluence, or our internal SSO platform. We can’t auto-sync meeting calendars or link meeting notes directly to project tasks, so all scheduling and documentation has to be done manually. Second, scalability for larger meetings needs heavy manual tuning. Small team syncs run smoothly, but once participant count hits 40 to 50+, our DevOps team has to manually adjust bridge settings and Kubernetes resource allocation. There’s no reliable out-of-the-box auto-scaling, which adds extra engineering workload for large technical workshops and cross-company sessions. Third, its API and workflow automation capabilities are fairly basic. The existing APIs work for simple use cases, but they lack advanced webhook triggers and flexible endpoints to automate routine tasks like bulk room creation, permission management, or log exporting. This forces us to build custom workaround scripts to fit our internal pipelines.

**What problems is Jitsi solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We use Jitsi primarily for private internal video meetings and technical discussions. By self-hosting on our AWS and Kubernetes infrastructure, it fully solves our GDPR and cross-border data residency challenges. All sensitive meeting data remains internal to our controlled environment, lowering compliance risks significantly and simplifying internal security audits.

  ### 4. Jitsi Has Come a Long Way—Now Handles Large Meetings Smoothly

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Daryl A. | IT Support, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** May 21, 2026

**What do you like best about Jitsi?**

As an IT professional, I have always search for similar platforms opposed to mainstream ie; Microsoft Teams etc. I either use Jitsi or Google Meets, both which has came a long way to be comparable to Teams.

**What do you dislike about Jitsi?**

Using Jitsi for aver 5 years, we use to have bad lag when having online meetings exceeding a dozen or so people, now they have solved that issue and we recently had a 45 member meeting with no issues.

**What problems is Jitsi solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Whether you have an account or the ability to use it free online, it works for the individual or business that is small and just starting out without a big overhead expense.

  ### 5. Efficient and Open Source Solution for Quick Meetings

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Lucas V. | IT Manager, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** April 28, 2026

**What do you like best about Jitsi?**

I like that Jitsi is incredibly easy to use because you can join a call simply with a link, without needing to install anything, which saves us a lot of time. The room is set up quickly and the audio and video quality is quite good for a free tool. Additionally, it doesn't have time limitations like Zoom. I also appreciate that being open source and self-hosted offers a lot of control over the privacy of our calls, which is crucial for internal or sensitive conversations.

**What do you dislike about Jitsi?**

When there are calls with many people (more than 10 or 12), it starts to get complicated, it becomes somewhat slow. The recording features are somewhat basic compared to Zoom or Meet. And the mobile app sometimes has issues with the audio, it might connect to Bluetooth headphones and doesn't quite pick up the microphone properly.

**What problems is Jitsi solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I use Jitsi to avoid Zoom licenses and time limits, and to control privacy with self-hosting. It is fast and easy to use, with no installations needed, ideal for internal meetings or with clients without complications.

**What do you like best about Jitsi?**

It’s seamless and works out of the box. You just go to the website, choose a unique meeting name, and join.

With other providers, you often need authentication and extra steps that make getting started harder. On top of that, it works well on a low-bandwidth connection. I had to attend an academic interview with poor network conditions, and the interviewer suggested using Jitsi.

**What do you dislike about Jitsi?**

The UI can be made smoother, and modern for non techie guys to understand

**What problems is Jitsi solving and how is that benefiting you?**

It solves the problem of video calls. It makes it easy to setup a instant call and works great even under low bandwidth conditions

I appreciate that Jitsi offers cross-platform support, which makes it easy to join meetings via a web browser, and I don't need an account to use it. Jitsi's open-source nature and APIs make it highly customizable for developers looking to embed video directly into their applications. It's great that I can integrate it with tools like Slack, Microsoft Office 365, and Google Calendar. The ease of use and user-friendly setup of Jitsi make it really accessible, and I find it very useful that I can use it with different platforms like my React application.

**What do you dislike about Jitsi?**

Sometime it slow beyond the fast processing application

**What problems is Jitsi solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I use Jitsi for smooth team video calls with customizable privacy and voice control features. It’s a valuable, free, and secure platform with flexibility for either web use or self-hosting, ideal for avoiding subscriptions or integrating video into applications.

I love Jitsi because it's easy and requires no sign-in. I can just create a meeting, share the link, and it's done. It's very fast with no need for downloads or logins, making collaboration pure, fast, and immediate. I appreciate how simple it is to share the link for easy collaboration, without needing to download anything or create an account. Jitsi is simple, small, easy, and very handy. The setup process is straightforward, just go to the site, create a link, and share it, which is quite easy to handle.

  ### 9. Stable Broadcasting with Easy Setup

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Bitegeere S. | Quality Controller - Publishing, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** April 02, 2026

**What do you like best about Jitsi?**

I love using Jitsi for live broadcasting because it is easier and stable. The stability is crucial, especially since the Internet in Uganda isn't very strong. I've found that Jitsi maintains a stable video picture even when the signal is weak, which is really important for me. The setup is incredibly easy; you just connect with the person you want to share or watch with. It's simple compared to other platforms. The picture and sound quality are good too, so I haven't faced any problems.

**What do you dislike about Jitsi?**

The issue is that in Uganda, a few people know about Jitsi, and when sharing the link, people have to struggle to install it. They are not familiar with it. That's the only challenge.

**What problems is Jitsi solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I use Jitsi for live broadcasting, and I love it for its ease and stability, especially with weak internet. It ensures the video remains stable even when the connection isn't strong.

  ### 10. Jitsi- Quick and easy meetings

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Trijita G. | Data partner , Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** January 30, 2026

**What do you like best about Jitsi?**

Easy to use, with no requirement to create an account. The audio and video quality are good as well.

**What do you dislike about Jitsi?**

Support for large meetings feels limited, and the platform offers fewer advanced features than I expected. The user interface is fairly basic, which can make the overall experience feel less polished. On top of that, self-hosting is complex and takes extra effort to set up and manage.

**What problems is Jitsi solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Jitsi helps solve the problem of access issues and unnecessary complexity in online meetings. Because it doesn’t require account creation, I can start or join a meeting right away without dealing with sign-ups or verification steps, and guests can join more easily without running into issues. It also works especially well for small-scale meetings (1–10 participants), like research discussions and one-on-one calls, where I tend to experience less noise and better audio/video quality than on other platforms.

  ### 11. Simplicity and Reliability with Room for Growth

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Rahul A. | Senior Technical Lead, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** March 24, 2026

**What do you like best about Jitsi?**

I like Jitsi for its simple and reliable video conferencing capabilities that don't require any complex setup. The browser-based access makes joining meetings quick and hassle-free, saving me a lot of time with no installation or setup required. The audio and video quality is decent, which is crucial for clear communication. I also appreciate its seamless screen sharing, which is especially valuable during reviews and troubleshooting sessions. It's great that it works well even on moderate internet connections, helping my team when working remotely. The simplicity, reliability, and no login required feature really stand out for me, making it a good choice for small teams and quick meetings.

**What do you dislike about Jitsi?**

One challenge I have noticed is its inconsistent behavior during large meetings. As more people join, sometimes we face audio and video quality issues. Also, the UI is very simple compared to the advanced conferencing tools nowadays.

**What problems is Jitsi solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I use Jitsi for quick and hassle-free meetings with its browser-based access and no installation needed. It performs well on moderate internet connections, helping remote teams. The seamless screen sharing is valuable for reviews and troubleshooting.

  ### 12. User-Friendly, Browser-Based, but Limited User Capacity

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Tejas K. | Software Engineer Intern, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** May 14, 2026

**What do you like best about Jitsi?**

I appreciate that Jitsi works in the browser, so I don't have to install apps most of the time. The platform’s interface feels just right—not too crowded or clumped with features but still does the job well enough. It is also trusted by our organization because it’s open source and hostable without signing in. The initial setup was pretty easy with not much required.

**What do you dislike about Jitsi?**

The limit on users is sometimes an issue for hosting webinars or conferences. I would appreciate if holding a work email or corporate account gave a larger user capacity.

**What problems is Jitsi solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I use Jitsi for meetings since it's open source, doesn't require sign-in, and works in a browser, avoiding app installations. Its simple interface prevents overwhelm for non-tech users.

  ### 13. Free, easy, and secure video conferencing tool, with some limitations in stability

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Design | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** March 12, 2026

**What do you like best about Jitsi?**

What I value most about Jitsi Meet is its ease of use: it doesn't require registration or installation to join a meeting, just a link. The audio and video quality is surprisingly good for a free and open-source tool. Additionally, it allows screen sharing, using the internal chat, and has end-to-end encryption, making it ideal for meetings where privacy is important.

**What do you dislike about Jitsi?**

The main issue is the occasional instability, especially in meetings with many participants or with E2E encryption enabled, where the audio may cut out. Recording meetings is unreliable without additional setup (Jibri), and technical support is limited due to it being open source, which makes it difficult to resolve issues quickly.

**What problems is Jitsi solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Jitsi solves the need for quick video calls without relying on paid platforms or time limits like Zoom. It allows me to hold team meetings and interviews immediately, without participants needing to create an account. The main benefit is cost savings and autonomy, as being open source, it can be self-hosted on one's own server for greater control.

  ### 14. Secure, Self-Hosted Video Meetings With Jitsi

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Gijs V. | ICT-coördinator, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** April 28, 2026

**What do you like best about Jitsi?**

I like that we can host Jitsi ourselves, which is very important for us. It works excellently without dependence on big tech, which is a big plus. Group meetings proceed quickly, safely, and well, which contributes to the reliability of the platform. The fact that Jitsi is open source makes this way of video calling very secure. Additionally, the installation is very simple, even for someone with little experience.

**What do you dislike about Jitsi?**

Because we host ourselves: if a lot of people call in at the same time, the server can sometimes struggle. This manifests as glitches.

**What problems is Jitsi solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I use Jitsi for secure video connections and to meet in a reliable and safe way, regardless of location. It can be self-hosted, which means we are not dependent on big tech.

  ### 15. Easy to Use with Great Features but Needs Better Stability

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Aurvin S. | Senior Product Manager, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** April 28, 2026

**What do you like best about Jitsi?**

I use Jitsi for video conferencing because it's easy to use with zero friction entry. There are a lot of good features available directly in the application, such as recording via Dropbox and live streaming to YouTube, which make things easy for me without needing to set up separate environments or do tasks separately. The setup for Jitsi was also pretty easy, making it convenient to onboard.

**What do you dislike about Jitsi?**

You can improve upon the stability especially when there are large groups in the meeting.

**What problems is Jitsi solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Jitsi is easy to use with zero friction entry. It offers many features, like Dropbox recording and YouTube streaming, making tasks straightforward without setting up separate environments.

  ### 16. Privacy-Focused, Frictionless Video Calls

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** souvan D.

**Reviewed Date:** February 03, 2026

**What do you like best about Jitsi?**

I use Jitsi as my go-to 'anti-corporate' powerhouse because it values privacy and simplification, unlike other platforms. One of the things I love is the 'Zero Friction' aspect, the 'Join-and-Go' vibe that makes connecting super easy. I also appreciate how Jitsi provides the ability to create custom, permanent URLs, which eliminates the need for sending invites every time. This 'Open-Room' concept fosters a 'drop-in' culture and gives a sense of ownership through naming. Jitsi feels like a reliable multi-tool for immediate digital communication needs and transforms remote work into a less lonely experience by turning video calls into virtual physical spaces. Plus, everything just works well without any hiccups, making it an enjoyable experience overall.

**What do you dislike about Jitsi?**

Setting up Jitsi can either be extremely easy or take an entire weekend, with almost no middle ground.

**What problems is Jitsi solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I use Jitsi to tackle digital communication issues with its simplicity and privacy. It solves problems like friction in joining calls, invite anxiety, and brings in a drop-in culture, enhancing remote work with custom, permanent URLs.

  ### 17. Quick, Simple Video Calls with Jitsi

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Sanjeev S. | Cybersecurity Engineer, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** February 01, 2026

**What do you like best about Jitsi?**

I really like how easy it is to start and join meetings on Jitsi without any complicated setup. The clean interface and good call quality, along with simple screen sharing, make it very convenient for everyday use. Jitsi also lets us start meetings instantly without complex setup, making team coordination and screen sharing fast and efficient. It fits in well with our existing workflow and doesn't require heavy integrations to be useful.

**What do you dislike about Jitsi?**

At times, call quality can be inconsistent on slower networks, and meetings with a larger number of participants can feel less stable. The interface is simple, but a few advanced controls could be more intuitive. Overall these are minor issues and don't significantly impact regular usage.

**What problems is Jitsi solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Jitsi enables quick, hassle-free communication for internal team meetings and client calls. It's especially useful for ad-hoc meetings with instant setup, making team coordination and screen sharing fast and efficient without complex configurations.

  ### 18. Open Source Flexibility with Setup Challenges

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Ganesh G. | Senior Software Engineer, Information Technology and Services, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** January 27, 2026

**What do you like best about Jitsi?**

I like that Jitsi is open source and costs nothing to use. It's great that I can configure almost every part of the audio and video communication without worrying about technical needs. Plus, it's completely deployable on my cloud infrastructure, and I don't need any special kind of hardware or software for it.

**What do you dislike about Jitsi?**

The learning curve for Jitsi is quite complex. I have to spend an enormous amount of time understanding how the data sheets work. Also, the setup was complex. Setting up a Docker environment is the simplest method, but using Jitsi without Docker requires configuring servers and installing GCP manually, which is really time-consuming and complex.

**What problems is Jitsi solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I use Jitsi to set up cloud infrastructure for audio and video calls. It simplifies making real-time communication setups without dealing with complex infrastructure. Jitsi allows customization and privacy protection by deploying a container, eliminating the need for coding everything from scratch.

  ### 19. Powerful Free Alternative to Paid Platforms

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Rafał M. | Vice President, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** March 24, 2026

**What do you like best about Jitsi?**

I love Jitsi for its speed and performance, especially since it holds up well even when my internet connection is poor. The fact that it's free is a huge plus for me. I also appreciate how well it functions like paid platforms such as Zoom and ClickMeeting.

**What do you dislike about Jitsi?**

session protection - now it requires setting a password for the conference room, but when all participants leave, the password disappears too, and you have to set it again. In 1:1 sessions, when my customer leaves (because of poor internet connection), I must reload the webpage and set another password to lock access for other users.

**What problems is Jitsi solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I have access to a free tool for videoconferencing, 1:1 coaching, session recording, screen sharing, chat, and whiteboard features.

**What do you like best about Jitsi?**

Honestly, I love open source software, so that's a plus for me. I preferred it always and I don't know why it didn't got more attention over Zoom for example during Covid. For most use cases and small meetings it works very well and it's simple enough for most users. Being OSS, it's fairly easy to get support from peer users. You can easily integrate it other software if needed.

**What do you dislike about Jitsi?**

I haven't needed, but I understand you might need some tech knowledge to make a custom implementation.

**What problems is Jitsi solving and how is that benefiting you?**

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Research | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** April 23, 2026

**What do you like best about Jitsi?**

The backbone of Jitsi is the Jitsi Videobridg. Unlike older systems that mix all video into one stream , Jitsi uses a Selective Forwarding Unit. It simply routes everyone's video to everyone else without "transcoding" it.

**What do you dislike about Jitsi?**

Unlike Zoom or Google Meet, where recording is a simple API toggle, Jitsi requires a separate component called Jibri.

**What problems is Jitsi solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Unlike Agora or Twilio, where a successful app can lead to a $10,000/month bill, Jitsi costs you only what you pay for your Linux servers.

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Manuel M. | Director de Innovación en Sistemas, E-Learning, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** December 14, 2024

**What do you like best about Jitsi?**

It is a free alternative, easy to integrate and implement on your own website, with the possibility to customize the functions available in the interface and with servers available to connect your meetings.

Additionally, it has a mobile application that allows you to extend its utility across all types of devices.

**What do you dislike about Jitsi?**

The software uses quite a lot of resources from the client devices that connect to the call, which can cause them to slow down or not provide a good experience on devices with low specifications.

**What problems is Jitsi solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We discovered Jitsi during the pandemic, a time when mandatory confinement made work difficult for many industries, including the development of educational activities.

  ### 49. very good - the real problem is not 'in jitsi'

**Rating:** 3.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Jonathan J. | Director of KIE, Executive Office, Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** January 27, 2025

**What do you like best about Jitsi?**

It's free, open source, as easy to use as anything else out there, if not easier. It's no encumbered by being associated with the big companies, and does not obsessively try to sell you all the nonsense that Zoom seems to be pushing on you

**What do you dislike about Jitsi?**

The problem is that it is not well known enough - if others are not willing to trust it (because they do not know the name) or if they are not willing to try it (because learning another tool is just so difficult) then it is just very, very difficult to get adoption of it for use with everyone you might need to use it with.

**What problems is Jitsi solving and how is that benefiting you?**

It allows me to escape Zoom, and is so much simpler without the millions of settings that has, without the pushy attempts to get you to buy things, and without trying to over integrate things with your email and everything else. It is so much easier than Teams to use, and when people try it, then they generally are fine with it - it does not cost either if you self-host it. Open source is a benefit when it comes to security.
