**What do you like best about Handbid?**

I’ve used many tools and Handbid is top-of-the-line for auctions and fundraising. The product is user-friendly for both our staff and donors. The team  always go above and beyond to help us! Elise Neugebauer is an expert and always willing to help us with technical issues or more importantly, overall strategy

**What do you dislike about Handbid?**

Hand if is really the best product for online options that I have utilized. There are some free resources and given our ongoing struggles to recover from the pandemic, free is always a good thing, but at the end of the day Handbid is worth the investment if you are planning an event

We love That our community can support our event and auction, even if they can't attend

Handbid made our auction event incredibly smooth and stress-free. The platform is intuitive, with a sleek, user-friendly design and powerful backend tools that made setup and management easy. Most impressive was the Handbid team’s responsiveness—every time we had a question, they were quick, helpful, and supportive. Great functionality, great look and feel, and top-tier customer service. Highly recommend!

Like everything else, cost is always a factor. Limited characters on titles are sometimes a challenge.

Organization of the auction items, check in and check out is much easier for guests.

**What do you dislike about Handbid?**

Ticketing is very good when guests do a good job to complete the information. However, it puts the onus on our guests and when they don't complete it upfront it makes more work at registration time. There tends to be a few corrections needed. That said, it is still a good product but some tweaking may be beneficial for all.

**What problems is Handbid solving and how is that benefiting you?**

No problems, per se. It takes a while to learn and get accustomed to the site and how to best use it but after a few auctions it seems to flow nicely.

Jeff Porter and the entire team at Handbid are the best in the business—they empower us, provide invaluable training, and inspire us with their unwavering belief that every event we host will be a success. Their support is second to none, making each experience truly outstanding.

**What do you dislike about Handbid?**

If I had to mention one downside, it would be that I wish Handbid could sync with our organization’s accounting systems. Unfortunately, we use two different platforms for CRM and accounting that don’t integrate, which isn’t Handbid’s fault. It’s simply a challenge with our organization’s setup.

**What problems is Handbid solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Handbid solves several key problems for FCA. First, it streamlines the event planning and auction process, making it easy to manage everything from ticket sales to bidding in one place. This efficiency saves us time and reduces stress during event preparation.

Second, the platform offers powerful analytics that provide insights into attendee behavior and fundraising performance, helping us make informed decisions for future events and maximizing our impact.

Thirdly, Handbid provides first-class education on fundraising, event planning, and auctions, which is invaluable for me as an executive director. Jeff and his team have shared powerful insights that have enabled our organization to raise over $300,000 in the last two years. What we’ve learned along the way is truly priceless, equipping us with knowledge that will benefit FCA for years to come.

Handbid is taking out all the complications of silent and live auctions. It's all in one place so we don't have to have multiple reasons for one event.

**What do you like best about Handbid?**

There are so many great features to use, each year we target a few more things to do to maximize our revenue. We've looked at some other conference apps with integrated silent auction functionality and that made us realize how robust an app handbid is for managing silent auctions.

**What do you dislike about Handbid?**

This is nit picky - but the validation of the spreadsheets to import into handbid always takes about 4 to 5 hours longer than it should - mostly going in and figuring out which titles or characters are too long, or fixing import text mistakes from going from a xls to a csv type format. I had to use a very specific csv MSDOS format to get the imports to work - a regular csv didn't work - commas in the description messed up the csv parsing.

**What problems is Handbid solving and how is that benefiting you?**

easy ways to do bidding online, and to set max bids and to get people really competitive about bidding.  just wish the picture formatting was a little better. Event when we import at the correct dpi and format, it never appears sharp on the app itself.

**What do you like best about Handbid?**

I've had the pleasure of using Handbid for the past three Classic silent auctions, and I can't say enough about how much it's elevated our events. The software is incredibly user-friendly, making it easy for both our team and our bidders to navigate and participate. What really stands out, though, is the exceptional support from the Handbid staff. Whenever we've had questions or needed assistance, they've been there with prompt, helpful responses. Their dedication to ensuring our auctions run smoothly has made a significant difference. I highly recommend Handbid to anyone looking to streamline their auction process and enhance their fundraising efforts.

**What do you dislike about Handbid?**

We don't have a sponsor for silent auction, so I wish I could've been able to take the "Sponsored By" part off when people first log on and see our auction on Handbid.

Handbid organizes all bidders data, which is important for me when organizing winning packages. I was also able to add appeals this year, which is great for donations aside from auction bids.

**What do you like best about Handbid?**

The accessability to Elise, Inga, and the service team throughout our planning process is always appreciated. Paying to have Elise on-site this year was totally worth the money. We were so grateful to have someone on site to help problem solve, process payments, assist with check out, and train volunteers. The client was thrilled with how much better registration and check out was, and how quickly we were able to close and settle the auction as a result.

**What do you dislike about Handbid?**

I find handbid easy to use after 3 years of using the application, but I do find the technology to be a bit glitchy and limited.  IDK why you can hit enter to search in the guest list but not the bidder or item list. Using Enter to activate the search is pretty standard in technology, and its already set up that way on the other list, so this seems easy enough to fix. I also don't understand why the auction pages and import template require different info for the exact same thing: display name and display name for sheet; description and description for sheet; donor name and donor name for sheet. Why would this ever need to be different? It just creates more work for us. When you drag and drop categories after importing the item list, can you drag multiple into the same row so one description ticks both boxes?  I know in past years I found emailng the guest list to be frustrating because of limitations and formatting issues caused by bullets, &, and other symbols. 

I would be nice to have a few display sheet formats to choose from (I do like the new version better than last year!)

Managing the auction items and payment for winning bids is a huge help. Other clients have tried companies who prove to be little help.

**What do you like best about Handbid?**

Once I learned the platform, it was pretty simple to use.  Our guests found it easy to use as well.  The option to open the bidding before the event was awesome.  We made $10,000 more on our silent auction this year than last and a large part of that was because of how easy it was to use the software.  Hands down the best thing about this was the customer service I received.  I was very nervous to use it and move to an online platform but Inga Veiss was there for me every step of the way.  She was patient and very responsive to all of my questions and issues over several months and even the night of the event.  She is the reason I feel comfortable continuing to use Handbid because I know I have help when I need it.

**What do you dislike about Handbid?**

There were a few situations with guest check-in that we needed to have help for because it was too complicated for us to do at the event.  Some guests said they had difficulty creating accounts.  It is definitely more geared toward younger people who are familiar with technology.

It captured all of our ticket sales and revenue in one place

**What do you like best about Handbid?**

Handbid is easy to use and the company provides a lot of helpful advice to increase fundraising. The platform provides multiple ways to fundraise too. Our organization has been using handbid for several years and the customer support is outstanding. I also really like that there is a phone app in addition to website access. New features are added regularly and the most recent option to check in guests on the phone app is a great feature that really streamlines the check in process.

**What do you dislike about Handbid?**

We have run into issues with people using android phones.

Our biggest fundraiser is our annual live and silent auction. Hanbid's suggestions to increase funds raised through the auction have paid off. The check in process and the check out process have relieved a lot of stress for both staff and for guests, making for a much better experience for all.

The manager app is fairly easy to work with once you know how to use it.

**What do you dislike about Handbid?**

It can be difficult to navigate on the back end if you're not familiar with the program.  

Also the photo you take for an items is a much smaller portion of the full photo when you see things as a bidder and scroll through the item categories.  Not until you click on the actual item do you see the full image.

**What problems is Handbid solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Years ago we made paper bid sheets.  Handbid helps stream line the bidding and collecting payment processes.  It also allows our guests/bidders to continue to bid when they are walking around enjoying the event.  This translates into higher sales.

Uploading horizontal pictures. I think this needs to be improved. We had to first export picture to power point, then crop, screen shot and then upload into Handbid.

The online training and support documentation was excellent.  The System is easy to use and support is available when needed.

When I started using the system, there was not support avialable after hours or on the weekends. I am a volunteer and working on this site as time permits.  After hours is when I was utilizing the system. I now see a pop up that advises how to get asssitance after hours. An update needed and glad it now exists.

I like having everyones information for the event and their ability to bid online from anywhere.

**What do you dislike about Handbid?**

Guests dont know how to use handbid for bidding. It actually takes awhile to input auction items and alot of the check in process is confusing. The only way our event was successful was because we had a handbid rep there to make sure eveything went smoothly.

It's allowing us to sell tickets for our fundraisers and people to bid on silent auction items from whereever they are.

**What do you like best about Handbid?**

Our silent and live auction was a great success due to the use of Handbid's mobile app.  We had 73 items and the idea of using paper bid sheets would have been unrealistic for our event. We had people in our group unable to attend who were thrilled to compete for favorite items.

**What do you dislike about Handbid?**

We purchased a package that provided some training but we could have used a bit more instruction.  Since we implimented less than two weeks prior to our event, we had to be quick in learning. Our registration process was difficult and lengthy with six staff helping with their laptops for 420 guests and it still took too long.  We needed more time to get everyone registered in Handbid for the evening.

**What problems is Handbid solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We had a lot of items in our auction along with two live auction items and a fund a need portion. Once everyone was in Handbid, the process was smoother.

Handbid allowed us to sell event tickets, raffle items, 50/50, silent auction AND live auction items to raise $70,000 for the Central PA Leukemia & Lymphoma Society (LLS) Visionary of the Year campaign that raised over $160,000 in just 10 weeks.

**What do you like best about Handbid?**

The software is very user friendly! Someone without a lot of background knowledge in technology can use it. I also love the customer service. Always treated like the most important customer. Having the ability to have someone on site for the first event provided me comfort because change is never easy. Since I'm a one man operation, that support staff helps me tremendously.

**What do you dislike about Handbid?**

They've fixed some of the issues with limited items this year, so not a lot of dislike. They are always looking to improve and like suggestions. If something goes wrong, it is fixed immediately.

**Recommendations to others considering Handbid:**

It's amazing. The Handbid guide helps answer any questions you have about the product, and even if you can't find it on there, the response team is quick and answers any questions quickly. They also offer on site support for your event which I highly recommend for at least your first year.

**What problems is Handbid solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Getting our auction to the world has been very beneficial. Prior to Handbid, we averages around 30k at our fundraiser. Now, we are averaging over 100k! People at the event like it a lot better than having to always leave the entertainment to check on the items as well!

We loved working with the Handbid team, they were so helpful and knowledgable about the product. The software was easy to use from an admin side as well as a user experience. Our guests loved this platform. We also greatly appreciated the onsite support provided, Inga is the best!

There were a couple functionalities that do not exist on the platform that would make our event run easier, but it is not a downside to the platform, just "nice-to-haves".

The software seems to work efficiently in regards to transactions.

**What do you dislike about Handbid?**

There is not one report that provides all the data needed for internal accounting reports. When patching together data from Handbid, Stripe and internal systems, it would be greatly appreciated to have one comprehensive report that lists auction items, amounts, fees, bidders, bidders' contact info and item name/description.  Patching together data is time consuming because I am constantly having to proof in order to ensure internal reports are accurate. For example, there is one report that lists all the components of the address except for the State. I had to extrapolate this data from the invoice report that had listed the full address in one long stream.  Auction are data intensive from collecting donations to the usage of an auction platform.  Creating one comprehensive report will greatly reduced time and effort on my end. What is frustrating is that I gave this same feedback 2 years ago.

Moreover, there is no proactive customer service. No review 1:1 review of the contract that led to a misunderstanding of deliverables. Emailing the support desk was OK, but not once did anyone reach out to check on my progress or if there were any questions, nothing.  There used to be a weekly Zoom call to review the process and tools available in Handbid. That is not even available anymore.  This would've helped me to better understand the functions and the why's behind some of the data components vs making assumptions. 

Due mostly to the lack of proactive customer service, we will be searching for alternatives for our next auction.

There didn't seem to be many issues with people registering this time.  I didn't notice anything else in particular.

The support and instructional videos have been keep to our success. The app is very easy to use and our event guests have been very pleased. It has helped us increase our revenue.

**What do you dislike about Handbid?**

The only thing I don't like about Handbid is when I upload a picture for the auction the sizing option cuts off images that are vertical so they fit in the horizontal space.

We used to use bid sheets which caused chaos at the event when the auction was over. Checkout times were super long trying to get everyone paid out.

It is now super easy for the bidder to pay and collect their winnings. We also have people who cannot attend the event bidding.

At the minimum, we are always available M-F, 8-5 (MT) for email and/or chat support and our Knowledge Base (it's like a Google for Handbid!), as well as After-Hours Event Emergency support via our Hotline Number. In addition, we also provide free group training sessions monthly where we review the 4 biggest aspects of Handbid: Getting Started, Ticketing, People Management (Guests & Bidders) and Item Management. These sessions are recorded and sent to registered participants following each session. If your current plan does not provide the level of support you're looking for, we are happy to discuss upgrading your subscription to include a more personalized service approach.

**What do you like best about Handbid?**

Handbid allowed us to expand our donor/bidder base by adding the online auction component.

**What do you dislike about Handbid?**

Our event location has limited wifi. Many of our bidders are elderly and struggle with the technology.
