Best Management tool for game dev **Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars **Reviewed by:** Danie G. | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.) **Reviewed Date:** November 15, 2023 **What do you like best about HacknPlan?** What is best about this compaired to other management tools are the oranization of the tasks, this is set out for Game Developers where each rol in the dev team has there own boards, you can also create each phase for your game, which makes it much easier to plan ahead. **What do you dislike about HacknPlan?** Only thing that would be great is that if the clock running of each task can be monitored by the admin, and be able to see the amount of time the other users has worked in a month, things like this to be able to work out payments for the team per hour. **What problems is HacknPlan solving and how is that benefiting you?** The ease of organising everything is so nice, less stressful. For example: Have an idea, add an idea task, think of a feature to work on in the future put it into you "beta release" board. This make the tasks not overflow and cause overwhelm and will be able to plan out almost the whole project. ### 2. Logging hours could also be simpler, it feels clunky atm. **What problems is HacknPlan solving and how is that benefiting you?** Managing tasks in an indie studio is the problem. You have to work in large team and then comes the project management . You need a good project manager to handle your game development project . HacknPlan has so nice UI for game project management that it makes all the difficult things being done easily. **What do you dislike about HacknPlan?** Hacknplan is good for project management . But some time when i post a new commit or file from my terminal. It doesn't load at the same time in the web page. This sometimes turns into a bigger issue. Apart from that Sonetime the server gets down too and my team is unable to add files to their project at that time for some unknown reasons. These things need to fixed asap. **What problems is HacknPlan solving and how is that benefiting you?** I work in a large team and all of us work on same project. We all are located at various diffrent part of the worls so we need one common project manager and there comes this hack n plan which makes our life easier by doing all these things for us and so we can concentrate more on our projects. ### 9. This tool suits best for game / tech developers **What do you dislike about HacknPlan?** Business Developer like me doesn't get that much out of HacknPlan compared to our tech guys, project lead, artists and other hands-on developers. UX could use some polish, to be honest. The UX might be good for our tech guys but I as a Biz Dev would need an improvement on the UX. A bit complex to begin with but after some time of practicing it seems to be easier than I initially thought. **Recommendations to others considering HacknPlan:** Gets project management, tasks, backlog and bug fix tickets handled in an easy and efficient way. Maybe not the best tool for business development people. A good start with the free plan - later can jump to the premium plan that unlocks many good features for a <10 people team at least. **What problems is HacknPlan solving and how is that benefiting you?** We keep our game development projects and tasks in HacknPlan so that everybody in the team can collaborate better. Following and implementing backlog issues works fine and cleaning up those QA tickets too.
