FreeCAD has slow performance. It's impossible to edit or view large models. At work, my colleagues give me STEP models to view. It's so hard to view these models using FreeCAD. Also, FreeCAD doesn't work well with B-splines in the Sketcher and PartDesign workbenches. Sometimes it's impossible to make a fillet if you use B-splines. Free CAD is a rare bird because the number of open-source CAD applications is somewhat limited. The application appears a suite with modules for different CAD applications, called "workbenches". There are workbenches for Architecture, Draft, Reverse Engineering, Part Design, and much more.
