## Creo Reviews
  ### 1. PTC CREO is the best 3D CAD/CAM/CAE modelling software in the industry.

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Pradeep K. | Senior Technical Officer, Octagon/CSG, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Current User:** The reviewer uploaded a screenshot or submitted the review in-app verifying them as current user.

**Reviewed Date:** June 16, 2023

**What do you like best about Creo?**

PTC CREO 3D model based is very easy to learn, and it is also easy to visualize. Has great features. One of the industry-leading software. We use CREO for our CAD/CAM lab. It is value for money and has quick RoI.

**What do you dislike about Creo?**

Even though CREO is a CAD/CAM/CAE software, the capabilities of CAE have to be improved. It can be a nightmare for IT administrators when it comes to upgrading the license server, as sometimes it is not easy, especially when upgrading the version from version 9 to version 10. Hence technical support for license administration should be improved.

**What problems is Creo solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Since CREO is built on the concept of parametric modeling, it is very easy to modify and change the dimensions of the CAD model. We are using CREO as a part of the CAD/CAM lab curriculum and since it is easy to learn, it saves us a lot of time while training our students to learn this software. It is also very competitively priced, making it more affordable with a quick return on investment.

The tool has easy to use function and commands are very handy. it is very user friendly and one can easily learn the modelling of any cad modeling in 2d as well as 3d.

**What do you dislike about Creo?**

2D sketching and on somewhat extent 3d modelling is good. but nowadays some of the tools are available with plugin loading functionality. if this functionality added then it can be powerful tool.

**What problems is Creo solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I am using this tool for Modelling of Cutting tools and Can parts.

**What do you like best about Creo?**

CREO is great for large assemblies with large number of components and mates to manage.

**What do you dislike about Creo?**

CREO's menu is very confusing, simple commands are buried layers deep. CREO should redesign the GUI.

**Recommendations to others considering Creo:**

Consider redesigning the main menu, maybe adding a compact menu that can hover on the main design area for frequently used features.

**What problems is Creo solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Our industry requires large complex components to be mated which CREO does an excellent job handling.

**What do you like best about Creo?**

Creo is a powerful software of 3D CAD capabilities optimized to meet all the needs and requirements of product development. It offers all the 3D designs such as sheet metal design, mechanism design, human factors design, routed systems design etc. It has the ability to do all kinds of analysis like structural, thermal, motion, fatigue etc. It is a well-built software with less bugs hence I have never faced any crashing issue.

**What do you dislike about Creo?**

It was very confusing and problematic in the beginning then I went through some tutorials online, it took a while in exploring all the best options to optimize the drawings. Once I got the command and became familiar with the tools then I started liking it and have been using only Creo since then.

**Recommendations to others considering Creo:**

I would recommend to first go through a training on Creo then start practicing to work on the same on daily or weekly basis. It will be tough in the beginning but once you master it, you will love it!

**What problems is Creo solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Creo has made easy assembling of parts together, collaborating and sharing 3D models and designs. It helps me to transform my ideas into reality and gives notification if I make something that is beyond reality. This saves a lot of time and increases productivity. Also, it helps in doing complex analysis and gives accurate results.

**What do you like best about Creo?**

It has a variety of features, capabilities, and tools that help us make our product better. Simulation and analysis are fast and easy with Creo software. We can measure how our product is used and performs in different situations. Creo has more surface tools, making it better for surfacing, and it is also useful in drafting and modeling.

**What do you dislike about Creo?**

Creo is better for solid modeling because sometimes I find difficulty in drafting operations. The process for any command in Creo software is very lengthy. Creo creates new draft files in your system every time you make changes to your design.

**Recommendations to others considering Creo:**

I recommend Creo for solid modeling because in drafting you may encounter many problems. It is easier to learn compared to other software, so if you are a first-time user in designing, I suggest you use Creo to easily understand its features and processes, and then you can easily use other software. It is cheaper compared to other design software but not useful for large projects.

**What problems is Creo solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I used Creo software in my college project called the 360-degree drilling machine. Initially, I used another software for the project design but faced some problems in surfacing, so I switched to Creo for modeling and surfacing. I created a better design with good surfacing using Creo software. I also used the MBD tool in Creo for producing data directly in the 3D model. I completed my project without any errors in Creo.

**What do you like best about Creo?**

Creo is great software for viewing 2D drawings and 3D models. It's free, so non-engineers can use it without having to have an expensive seat of Creo, and it also allows them to make notes for the engineers. You can build assemblies and test them. Easy to use and fast to hang. Great models in 3D, and also in 2D.

**What do you dislike about Creo?**

The software is limited in feature set, but it has more than enough features to get you off the ground and running making your cad models.

**Recommendations to others considering Creo:**

1. Creo easy to work with.
2. There a lot of options for our views to accomplish.
3. It's a powerful software well built with fewer bugs and hence I grand never come across crashing of this software no matter how much inputs use give.

**What do you like best about Creo?**

For Designing in 3D I think the Creo program is very useful. It has been developed to the point that almost any shape can be represented, eventually.

**What do you dislike about Creo?**

The complexity of Creo requires much training to be able to do the kind of work that sets this program apart from low range 3D modeling programs. Hours training and weeks of practice. It is best to learn on the job from colleagues who are experience. The normal training programs are to accelerated; you forget so much from a week of training, because you are not able to assimilate all those options as a new user.

**Recommendations to others considering Creo:**

Compare it to other programs. On size does not fit all in the design world.

**What problems is Creo solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We use Creo to design components and assemblies for aerospace application. I specifically use Creo to design machine components prior to fabrication using conventional or CNC machining processes.

**What do you like best about Creo?**

Easy to use once learned the basics and fundamental. You can build a complete product in the software before even making the prototype. Not too many bugs to it, it never crashed on me even when inputting a ton into it. I would say the best choice for people to use, especially for professionals in a company

**What do you dislike about Creo?**

It is very tough to learn for a beginner. Need proper guidance/help. It isn't for low end systems because it becomes slow. Pretty costly for personal use, using for a company is best. There are many options to use so it gets rather confusing and overwhelming because of the variety that you can have.

**Recommendations to others considering Creo:**

Quite difficult to learn unless you have an experienced user giving guidance. Once learned, it is easy to understand the concept and then can truly excel at creating your works

**What problems is Creo solving and how is that benefiting you?**

CAD drawings for projects, works, seminars
