I have used and considered quite a few platforms over the last 20+ years, and one of the things I love best is that Anedot does everything in-house. They are the processor and the merchant services, so our transaction fees are very reasonable and almost all of our donors choose to cover the fees. It's very easy to use, and the customer care from set-up to everyday use is second to none!!! I have found their leadership team, on every level, to be accessible (like.....a for real person, imagine that!!!), incredibly responsive, and they take requests/suggestions and implement them when possible so that both our and our user experience is smooth, simple, and successful. The platform was easy to integrate with our website, and with some assistance, we were able to make sure all workflows were exactly right! We have donors who give on a recurring basis, others who give one-time, and our donors use Anedot regularly in supporting our nonprofit impact. I could not be more pleased with our decision to use Anedot and I would highly encourage any business to consider them if their services align with your needs. **What do you dislike about Anedot?** I wish we could add (and I'm hopeful that with time it may evolve) would be to have the ability to create more short codes to connect to campaigns. We are multi-faceted in our services, and that would help us in specific fundraising efforts. They have worked with us to meet our needs, but that would be a nice addition, and perhaps a 6 digit text code rather than an 800# would be nice as they have the capacity to do so. My other dislike over time has been the learning curve, by which we have had some things to clean up in integrations, mapping, etc. where we didn’t have any idea the default settings would create a mess for our financial reports (or that we had to create settings to avoid this). I’ve appreciated the support so very much, but it would be nice to have been given this information on the front end, perhaps an on boarding checklist for new organizations, rather than directions where we could have found the information if we had any idea that we needed to manually create those settings for proper integration. I really do believe this is a great platform, but you will be wise as a new user to find out as quickly as possible all the things you don’t know before you jump in with both feet. Once you have all that set correctly, you will likely be very glad that you have chosen to use Anedot. **What problems is Anedot solving and how is that benefiting you?** We can set up any and all campaigns under one roof and alleviate the need for third-party platforms to process our donations. We have multiple people on staff and would like our team leads to only see their submissions and not have access to the entirety of our giving platform. Maximize your usage of the ANEDOT app. Once individuals utilize ANEDOT, they will be more inclined to donate to sites with ANEDOT as their single collection device. 2. Utilize customer support at ANEDOT and you will be surprised how many times a key administrator answers. That's where Anedot comes in. It's pretty straightforward and does the job without any fuss. You don't need to be a tech wizard to use it, which is a relief for me. **What do you dislike about Anedot?** One thing I'm not too thrilled about with Anedot are the fees. While I get that processing donations isn't free and every service has its costs, the fees can add up, especially for a campaign that's watching every dollar. It's a bit of a downer when you're trying to maximize every donation. They have probably made it as simple as possible, but there are quite a few rules about what kind of legal entity can use their services, confirning identity, etc. Some years ago I attempted to set up an account with them and was unsuccessful. This year I had a consultant helping me on other things, who offered to help with this setup. For him it was instant and smooth, and I didn't have to lift a finger. So, it might be helpful to have someone help you with this part (or maybe they have simply made the process easier in 2023). **What problems is Anedot solving and how is that benefiting you?** Anedot solved the problem of needing a smooth, frictionless gateway for supporters to donate money on my political campaign website. They processed credit cards, sent email receipts, kept me notified, and generated reports. ### 9. The ability to quickly create a professional donation page and immediately receive gifts is fantastic. The tools available for the organization for tracking and proper allocation of funds are also just what is needed. Though all of that is amazing, better yet is the staff behind the scenes within Anedot. If you have a specific need within your organization, they are willing to listen to your needs and look into how they can help you accomplish your goals. They are not just selling a service but constantly updating systems and increasing their simplicity. They are also very involved in requesting input for future updates and feature requests, which is fantastic. One other thing that I truly love is their stand on personal and account privacy. Anedot charges for the service of performing a transaction. They do not re-sell personal data or donor information to outside companies. Anyone donating through Anedot can be confident they are not giving out personal data that will then be used for telemarketing or specific targeted services. Last on my list that I can think of now is the lack of an Annual service fee or monthly charge. Anedot charges a small transaction fee; however, there is no exuberant secondary cost for their service and the use of all of their tools. **What do you dislike about Anedot?** There may be some limitations to using this service as opposed to other, larger or more widely known companies for specific types of organizations. But, if you do find an area that could use a different feature or an easier way to accomplish the same goal, they are very involved in seeing if they can either fix the problem or include a solution in one of their updates. **What problems is Anedot solving and how is that benefiting you?** Anedot simplifies the donor experience without the added manual input sometimes associated with some solutions. They include the ability to choose different funds, so correct allocation of funds becomes much easier. Also, Anedot takes care of sending out customized receipts automatically and includes the ability to send out an Annual statement for all donors with one button. ### 14. Their backend software never seems to have glitches, it's easy to see what has been given and with their new donor support page, I don't have to intercept changes donors want to make. Additionally, as each person gives, we receive an email that allows us to immediately respond to donors. **What do you dislike about Anedot?** As is the case with any type of donation service, donations come in one lump sum and not in real time, so when we have individual donations, mixed in with corporate, it take a bit of time to split those out in accounting. **Recommendations to others considering Anedot:** Definitely consider Anedot. I would also love a QR code scan option. **Recommendations to others considering Anedot:** I would recommend that folks explore the text to donate option for maximum donation collection. **What problems is Anedot solving and how is that benefiting you?** I spend less time doing data entry and more time working on pressing campaign tasks. Andeot's user interface and template customizations are simple and easy to navigate and initialize. **What do you dislike about Anedot?** Sometimes when setting up a new account, you have to wait for them to call you to verify information and then have the underwriting processed. While I understand this for a new account, it can be kind of a hassle and unnecessary when creating a sub-account. Also there is a requirement that two verified users have to be listed under an account.
