It helps us control user access, manage license entitlements, and support compliance through centralized license management. **What do you dislike about 10Duke Licensing?** We needed significant customization to make the platform fit our clients’ requirements. Our engineering team had to remain deeply involved throughout the entire process, including building a dedicated application and developing integrations with the platform, which ultimately became a long, resource-intensive effort. Although the platform itself is solid, meeting specific client requirements still requires substantial engineering time and resources for customization. As a result, we had to pause other planned improvements on our product roadmap to focus on getting everything implemented. On the positive side, 10Duke was very helpful throughout and responded quickly to our questions and needs. **What problems is 10Duke Licensing solving and how is that benefiting you?** The platform supports flexible licensing models and gives us clear visibility into license usage, which helps us deliver a smooth, consistent experience for our users. We needed to upgrade from our in-house system into a solution that would offer us more flexibility and scale, and reduce the need for license activation related support. In these respects, 10Duke has been exactly what we hoped it would be. With 10Duke you get more than just access to a system, you get to work with a dedicated team who are very knowledgeable and always willing to help. We also had certain security requirements that some of the smaller vendors in the market couldn't meet. **What do you dislike about 10Duke Licensing?** I wouldn't necessarily call this a downside, but coming from serial number based licensing there was a lot that we needed to unlearn, as 10Duke is somewhat different to most solutions in the space. That being said, I'm very happy that we made the switch. **What problems is 10Duke Licensing solving and how is that benefiting you?** We finally have full visibility into our licensing, so we're in a much better position as a business as there is less guesswork as to who's using our product and there's now a single source of truth for everything related to licenses. We're able to capture more revenue thanks to tighter licensing that is still very user-friendly as well. ### 3. The identity + licensing combo makes onboarding seamless, and integrations saved us a lot of manual effort. **What do you dislike about 10Duke Licensing?** There isn’t much to dislike, but if I had to point something out, I’d say the initial setup takes some learning. The platform is powerful, which naturally means there are a lot of configuration options, and a bit more step-by-step guidance or clearer documentation for advanced scenarios would make the onboarding smoother. Once everything is in place, it runs flawlessly—but getting there required a bit of back-and-forth with support. **What problems is 10Duke Licensing solving and how is that benefiting you?** 10Duke helped us centralize identity management and licensing under one system. Before this, we had separate tools handling user authentication, trial management, and license provisioning, which created friction and manual work. With 10Duke, everything is automated—from activating new customers to managing renewals—and we now support multiple license types without custom development. Our experience with 10Duke has been vastly different from other vendors where you just get access to a tool. The 10Duke licensing management platform was the only solution that really met our needs in terms of how we want to license and sell our applications, integrating with our tech stack, and enterprise-readiness from a privacy, security and global support perspective. The integration was straighforward and very well documented, and their support team has been very responsive. **What do you dislike about 10Duke Licensing?** As with any new solution there is a learning curve, especially when switching providers, but I can’t think of any major issues. **What problems is 10Duke Licensing solving and how is that benefiting you?** Before 10Duke, managing licensing was a constant challenge. We used another licensing provider and with them it was serial-number based licensing. Relying on serial numbers caused many customer support calls, which was costly and time-consuming, and obviously not a great customer experience. 10Duke has modernized and streamlined our licensing management so that everything is in one place and more automated, and we don’t have to worry about it. It's just a more capable solution. We have been able to reduce customer activation calls, and it has been easier to implement technical solutions for our enterprise clients, like SSO and device-based licensing. 10Duke has allowed us to better respond to client requests, accelerate our growth, and release major updates with confidence, knowing that there won’t be any licensing issues. Overall the reduced need for customer support alone pretty much has made the investment worth it, plus we’re in a much better position from a technology perspective for the future. ### 5. This is our first foray into cloud licensing and it has been a very positive experience. **What problems is 10Duke Licensing solving and how is that benefiting you?** For decades we licensed our software using physical hardlock keys. However, some organizations are no longer permitting these types of devices to be used. Also, users would lose them, or damage them. Users also passed them around, making it easy to short-circuit our End User License Agreement. Finally, there are hardware driver issues that cost us time to support. Transitioning to 10Duke has addressed all of these. ### 7. Implementing 10Duke has helped us free up our team by largely automating the licensing process. It works amazingly well with other business systems, and their support team has gone above and beyond to help make everything as smooth as possible. **What do you dislike about 10Duke Licensing?** Their terminology was quite different from what we were used to, but once we learned it we had no issues whatsoever. **What problems is 10Duke Licensing solving and how is that benefiting you?** We were finally able to let go of the self-built licensing mechanisms we had had in place for many years, and our licensing process is now 10x smoother for both ourselves and most importantly our end customers. We now have a clear view into the licenses we’ve issued, how they are used and our customers also know exactly what they’ve licensed, when licenses expire etc. ### 8. It’s been very reliable and we haven’t had any issues. What really sets 10Duke apart is the support and guidance we’ve received. Other vendors we looked at kind of leave you to figure it out on your own, but 10Duke guided us through what was basically a big overhaul of our licensing process, and the dedicated technical support team was incredibly helpful from evaluation through to integration and production, and saved us a ton of time and headaches. **What do you dislike about 10Duke Licensing?** There isn’t much, the most difficult part was figuring out how we wanted our licensing to be, but 10Duke helped us get there. **What problems is 10Duke Licensing solving and how is that benefiting you?** Before 10Duke, we had our own licensing system, which over time became a nightmare to maintain (we have several products) and to get it to work with other systems. For us the biggest improvement was a single source of truth for license management. That alone made the investment worth it as we’ve been able to save so much time. Not having to deal with fixing bugs in an in-house solution that we used to have has freed up our team and increased our efficiency. Before migrating to 10Duke, we weren’t always sure if our applications were used without us knowing about it, but through their identity-based approach to licensing where the end users need to log in to be able to use our products, we’ve been able to generate more license revenue from existing customers. We’ve also been able to offer trial access more easily where end users can just self-serve to sign up and try our products, which has definitely increased sign up rates. ### 9.
