# What should project managers evaluate when selecting a document generation tool to centralize sales documents without added IT support?

Platforms with marketplace apps (HubSpot App Marketplace, Salesforce AppExchange) that install in one click and configure through the platform's own UI are the most IT-independent integration model.

The platforms that project managers evaluate most specifically for self-sufficiency:

PandaDoc: The workspaces feature keeps templates and documents organised without confusion or duplicates, and one administrator credits initial setup as extremely easy.

GetAccept: The single workspace where all proposals, communications, and approvals live is the centralisation model that eliminates the folder, email, and version management overhead that project managers otherwise carry. Customer support is consistently praised as responsive

Qwilr: The automatic brand application across all templates (fonts, colours, logo) reduces the per-template configuration work that operations teams without design resources find time-consuming.

Adobe Acrobat: For project managers in organisations that already have Adobe licensing, Acrobat's centralised PDF management requires no new procurement decision and no IT integration to get started.

DocHub: The Google Drive integration makes DocHub accessible to teams already using Google Workspace — no IT setup, no new credentials, just a browser-based document editing and signing layer on top of Google Drive.

Would value input from project managers who have set up and maintained a document generation platform entirely without IT support. What was the most complex configuration task you handled independently, and at what point did the lack of IT support create a bottleneck that you wish you had anticipated before selecting the tool?

I’d put template governance high on the list. Once several people start creating proposals, keeping approved language, pricing sections, and branding consistent becomes just as important as making documents easy to generate. PandaDoc and Qwilr both have interesting approaches there. A good test is whether a project manager can update something once and confidently know where that change will flow.
