Question 1

Travel Management software buying insights at a glance

Accepted Answer

Travel management software helps businesses plan, book, and manage employee travel while ensuring spending, policy compliance, and duty of care are in check. These platforms centralize everything from flight and hotel booking to approvals, traveler support, and expense reconciliation, allowing finance and travel administrators to control costs without creating friction for employees.
As business travel resumes and budgets come under closer scrutiny, these tools have become increasingly essential. Instead of juggling bookings, receipts, and reimbursements across disconnected tools, travel management platforms streamline business travel into a clear, trackable workflow, providing companies with better visibility and employees with the support they need while traveling.
Buyers typically use travel management software to address common pain points, including inconsistent booking behavior, limited visibility of spending, delayed reimbursements, and inadequate support for travelers during disruptions. Based on G2 reviews, users value how these tools simplify booking, reduce manual expense work, and help enforce policy without constant back-and-forth. Many teams also cite improved reporting, better vendor rates, and more seamless employee experiences as key benefits.
When evaluating the best travel management software, buyers often compare multiple travel management providers to strike a balance between traveler satisfaction and cost controls, as well as administrative oversight.
Pricing varies depending on booking volume, the number of travelers, the service model (self-serve vs. managed travel), and add-ons such as premium support, policy controls, and analytics. Most vendors offer pricing models based on per-trip, per-user, or subscription fees, with larger organizations often transitioning to enterprise contracts. When comparing travel management tools, buyers tend to weigh pricing flexibility against booking reliability, inventory coverage, and support responsiveness, especially during cancellations or last-minute changes.

Question 3

What I Often See in Travel Management Software

Accepted Answer

Pros: What Users Consistently Appreciate

Unified booking workflows surface optimal rates and simplify itinerary changes

“I use Navan through work for all of my work travel needs and it is SO easy to use. I go on at least 5 trips a year with work and so I use it often. It includes many features, my favorite being that it keeps track of all of my memberships and then gives me the best deal for those while booking for work. I book flights, hotels, and car rentals and the prices are fair for my organization and super easy to shift. Customer support is always available and sometimes I use it for personal trips because they give me great deals. I also use it to keep up with my work credit card spending, which is also easy to use.”- Reem C, Navan Review

Integrated travel and expense workflows improve spend visibility and accuracy

“What I like best about SAP Concur is how it simplifies and streamlines expense and travel management. It saves time, reduces errors, and provides clear visibility into spending, making processes more efficient for both employees and finance teams. I also appreciate its user-friendly interface and the way it integrates seamlessly with other systems, which makes managing expenses less stressful and more organized.”- Corina D, SAP Concur Review

Broad inventory access and negotiated corporate rates reduce travel costs

“I appreciate the substantial discounts available through myBiz by MakeMyTrip, which significantly reduce the cost of group or individual travel and accommodation. This feature stands out as it allows both me and my employees to travel affordably, making it easier to manage business expenses. The platform also offers maximum convenience and ease of travel arrangements, simplifying the entire booking process for business trips. Additionally, I find value in the wide range of travel and stay options the service provides, ensuring access to top-tier properties. This comprehensive selection enhances the quality of our travel experiences and supports our business needs effectively.”- Nitesh K, myBiz by MakeMyTrip Review

Cons: Where Many Platforms Fall Short

Saved itineraries lack reliability, creating extra rework during planning

“Sometimes, when I create or save specific items like hotel bookings or flights that I want to save, they don't properly save the actual trip I've created. Instead, they merely get bookmarked, requiring me to look them up again later, which is pretty inconvenient.”- Joseph C- Navan Review

Pricing competitiveness and added convenience fees reduce cost efficiency

“I dislike that sometimes the pricing on myBiz by MakeMyTrip isn’t as competitive as other portals. Additionally, I find it problematic that myBiz by MakeMyTrip charges convenience fees, which some other portals do not, potentially making those alternatives more appealing.”- Harsh B. myBiz by MakeMyTrip Review

High Balance Requirements and Limited Auto-Prepay Flexibility

“Brex requires that you keep a balance of $10k in linked bank accounts to maintain a credit limit of $5k, to use more you have to prepay. It takes time with a linked balance over $25k to get a higher credit limit, or time to show activity. If you need to top up to cover expenses you can do a prepay (as above) or an auto prepay. Prepay can be the full outstanding balance or an amount that you set, but the auto prepay is only the full amount. This means you can't just automatically top up $1k until the end of the month to cover services that hit at different times of the month.”- Eric K, Brex Review
