[Top-rated AI chatbot platforms for customer retention](/discussions/top-rated-ai-chatbot-platforms-for-customer-retention)

Hi all! I’m exploring AI chatbot solutions that can support customer retention, not just initial conversions. The goal is to keep customers engaged after purchase, provide fast responses to support questions, and build long-term loyalty. These are a few platforms I’m looking at:

- [ChatGPT](https://www.g2.com/products/chatgpt/reviews): Flexible for building retention flows like proactive check-ins or automated follow-ups. Has anyone seen measurable improvements in loyalty using it this way?
- [Gemini](https://www.g2.com/products/google-gemini/reviews): Google’s AI model that can be embedded into chatbot frameworks. Curious if anyone has used it for real-world retention cases rather than just general Q&A.
- [Voiceflow](https://www.g2.com/products/voiceflow/reviews): Designed for building conversational experiences. Can it deliver strong results when used for ongoing customer engagement and retention workflows?

If your team has tested any of these, I’d love to know: Did they actually move the needle on retention, or did they end up being more of a support add-on?

I’d also be curious to hear how teams are measuring success with AI chatbots for retention. Are you tracking repeat purchases, NPS, churn rates, or something else to know if the chatbot is actually making a difference?

[What are the top AI chatbot tools for lead generation?](/discussions/what-are-the-top-ai-chatbot-tools-for-lead-generation)

Does anyone in the community working in B2B sales or marketing have a preference for [AI chatbot tools](https://www.g2.com/categories/ai-chatbots) when it comes to capturing and qualifying leads? I’m evaluating some of the top-rated tools on G2’s AI Chatbots software page, and I’d love to hear which ones teams are actually finding success with.

- [Tidio](https://www.g2.com/products/tidio/reviews): Easy to add to Shopify or WordPress sites, with automation for capturing visitor details. Curious if it scales well for B2B lead generation beyond e-commerce.
- [Podium](https://www.g2.com/products/podium/reviews): I have heard good things about it in the customer communication and reviews space. How effective is it at pulling in fresh leads directly from websites?
- [Kore.ai](https://www.g2.com/products/kore-ai/reviews): Advanced conversational AI with lead capture and routing features. Wondering if it’s too heavy for mid-sized teams focused mainly on lead gen.
- [ChatGPT](https://www.g2.com/products/chatgpt/reviews): Flexible for building custom lead flows with natural conversations, but does it demand too much dev work?
- [Gemini](https://www.g2.com/products/google-gemini/reviews): It can also be embedded into chatbot frameworks. Has anyone tested it for structured lead qualification?

I’d love to know which of these tools (or others) have worked best for your teams when generating and qualifying leads through conversational AI. Thanks in advance.

The biggest thing that worked for us was making sure the chatbot collected information reps could actually use. If it only grabs name, email, and a vague question, it doesn’t really save much time for sales.

Answered: Tanuja Bahirat on April 14, 2026

I’d also appreciate it if the community could share how much technical setup was required before you started seeing results with lead capture. Are these chatbots generally realistic for smaller sales teams without dedicated dev support?

Answered: Harshita Tewari on August 25, 2025

Getting GPT up and running was the easy part. Making it actually useful was where the time went, especially around the qualification questions, flow tweaks, and lead routing.

Answered: Aditi Rai on April 13, 2026

It really depends on whether you’re optimizing for volume or quality. Simpler chatbots can bring in more leads, but they’re often less qualified. More structured bots tend to capture fewer leads, but the ones you do get are usually much closer to converting.

Answered: Yashwathy Marudhachalam on April 13, 2026

On the technical setup question, the answer really depends on whether you want a chatbot that just captures contact info or one that actually qualifies leads properly. The first is pretty manageable for a small team. The second usually takes more work around CRM mapping, routing, and conversation design.

[Best AI-powered chatbots for B2B lead qualification](/discussions/best-ai-powered-chatbots-for-b2b-lead-qualification)

Hello G2 users, I’m exploring [AI chatbots](https://www.g2.com/categories/ai-chatbots) that can help with lead qualification for B2B sales. My goal is to reduce the manual work of sorting through inbound leads and make sure my sales team spends time only on the most qualified prospects. Here’s what I’ve compiled so far:

- [ChatGPT](https://www.g2.com/products/chatgpt/reviews): While not a plug-and-play chatbot, it’s being used by many companies as the AI “engine” behind lead qualification flows. I’m curious if anyone here has built custom workflows with ChatGPT that connect to their CRM.
- [Gemini](https://www.g2.com/products/google-gemini/reviews): Similar to ChatGPT, it’s more of a foundation model than a chatbot. It looks powerful, but I’m wondering if anyone has successfully used it for structured B2B lead qualification.
- [Podium](https://www.g2.com/products/podium/reviews): Known for messaging and reviews. Can it be adapted to capture and qualify inbound B2B leads effectively?
- [Tidio](https://www.g2.com/products/tidio/reviews): Popular for e-commerce, but I’ve seen it mentioned in B2B contexts too. How flexible is it for lead scoring and CRM integration?
- [Kore.ai](https://www.g2.com/products/kore-ai/reviews): Looks like an advanced enterprise option. Is it worth the setup time for smaller B2B teams looking to automate qualification?

If you’ve used any of these tools for lead qualification, I’d love to hear:

- What criteria did you set for “qualified” vs. “unqualified,” and how well did the chatbot handle that distinction?
- Did the AI collect enough useful data for your sales reps to confidently follow up?
- Were there any surprises around integration with your CRM or marketing automation tools?
- Over time, did the chatbot actually reduce the workload on your sales team, or just shift it around?

Looking forward to your input, thanks.

What do you think about Voiceflow? I’ve heard it mentioned a few times, but not sure if it actually helps with B2B lead qualification or if it’s more for prototyping/chatbot design. Anyone here tried it in a real sales workflow?

Answered: Harshita Tewari on April 13, 2026

I honestly think in terms of workload, chatbots reduced manual triage for us, but didn’t eliminate it. Sales still reviews edge cases, especially when responses are vague or incomplete.

Answered: Hasitha Varre on April 13, 2026

For “qualified vs unqualified,” we ended up using a mix of firmographic (company size, industry) and intent signals (use case, timeline). The chatbot could collect it, but you still need clear rules or scoring behind the scenes.

Answered: Soundarya Jayaraman on April 16, 2026

One big learning for us over time was that the real value came from consistency. Even if the chatbot wasn’t perfect, it ensured every lead was asked the same core questions, which improved downstream sales efficiency.
