Jeenie runs an all-Mac fleet of about 40 endpoints supporting a healthcare-adjacent language services business. Our compliance obligations are real — SOC 2 Type II, HIPAA, GDPR, and we're currently working toward ISO 27001 and ISO 42001. Iru is what makes managing that fleet a part-time job instead of a full-time one. The biggest win has been compliance evidence. When auditors ask us to prove full-disk encryption, we point to a FileVault profile enforced through Iru across every enrolled device, with escrowed recovery keys we can pull via the API. When they ask how our EDR agent gets deployed and stays deployed, we point to the Blueprint that installs and enforces it. Fleet inventory, per-device compliance status, profile enforcement — it's a screenshot away instead of a two-week evidence-gathering fire drill. For a small team, that difference is enormous. Blueprints and Assignment Maps are the features I'd show any prospective customer first. Define the desired state once, assign it, and every Mac converges on it — new hires included. Custom Profiles and Custom Apps cover everything else, so we're never stuck waiting for a feature to exist. And the API means Iru fits into our workflows instead of forcing us into a console-only rhythm. Onboarding a laptop is enrollment plus a Blueprint, not a checklist. Offboarding is handled remotely. Iru's managed local admin account has bailed us out of situations that would otherwise have meant a trip to Apple with proof of purchase. Iru is one of the few tools in our stack I don't have to think about, which is the highest compliment I can pay a platform. The price and value I am getting from IRU are worth the cost. It has helped keep our fleet up to date and deploy new apps faster.
