I primarily utilize Generect on the administrator side for the management of lead information. The lead information enters from various campaigns. Previously, I would export CSVs manually every week, which meant I had to clean up the data in a Google Sheet. It took up so much of my time honestly. With Generect I can review incoming leads, tag them with replies and generate reports from the dashboard without switching apps.
To start with, I am a fan of the automated reporting dashboard. I usually check the “recent activity” panel as the first thing every morning to see what needs follow-up. I find it easy to use and saves me from repetitive admin work.
I handle partnerships with fashion influencers, stylists and key press contacts to help raise our brand. Before Generect, it was wildly inefficient to do this. My team and I would spend hours swiping through Instagram and LinkedIn, only to send pitches to generic info@ email addresses or via social DMs that disappeared into the sea of unread messages. Generect changed everything.
Main use case for us is Chrome Extension. As soon as we spot a potential editor or influencer we copy and paste their LinkedIn or publication “about” page into our system and hit the Generect button. Within seconds, we receive a professionally verified email address (think first.last@condenast.com or business@influencername.com) and frequently a direct phone number for the office. This means we can approach making a professional impact by doing something that sets us apart. The lead enrichment is also important for screening. We upload lists from PR agencies or events, and Generect scrubs the data, verifies the person’s current company, title and adds some firmographic context. This way we never accidentally pitch a freelance writer on a feature that should go to an editor at Vogue.
So as a product evangelist and B2B marketer in the thorny AdTech space, my challenge is focus and accuracy. Generect is the scapel in my toolbox. I need it for two separate but equally indispensable tasks. First off, ABM (Account-Based Marketing): I create targeted account lists that include both DSPs, SSPs and key brands. I never leave home without my Generect Chrome Extension (in LinkedIn and Twitter at least). If I find a decision maker at that company (specifically; VPs of Fraud Prevention, or Head of Supply), I’ll click on the extension and get a confirmed corporate email, plus usually direct dial. And that’s sort of non-negotiable for any kind of custom outreach, you’re not going to evangelize with a contact@ address:.
Second, in influencer and partner mapping: I leverage the lead enrichment to research journalists, analysts or other AdTech influencers. Whether from a list you upload from an event or names pulled from articles, Generect appends company details, corrects job titles and validates contact info. That way I can adjust my pitch to perfection recognizing if it’s a freelance writer or an analyst at a large firm like Forrester.
