My website started to grow when I hired someone else, don't use this company for SEO, they are not good for this at all. They include fine print words in their contract about not providing refunds or able to cancel, which they do not discuss with you when you sign up. ### 3. I signed up in June of 2021 and paid $1,600. I was told by Will (Sales) that my entire site would be optimized for SEO and Google Core Web Vitals. Services such as Images without Alt Tags would be added, Meta Descriptions optimized for local search, SCHEMA and Structured Data added, Internal Link Building, Fixing Broken Links, etc. Be mindful that my site already had a steady growth of organic traffic since the website has been live for several years. The site had over 75 subpages and over 50 blogs posts. The sales team was aware of the size of the site and ensured complete optimization would be done. After signing up, access was given to the Dashboard, where I added all the necessary information GoZoek needed, including Social Media Pages, Access to Google My Business, etc. The Dashboard is nice, but the knowledge of the employees who demo it is lacking. As for Off-Site SEO I was told they would update my business details (NAP - Name Address Phone) on multiple directories, and where necessary, duplicates would be deleted, and incorrect data would be changed. I provided documentation to GoZoek with all the listings that already existed. Did they reference this document? No, they published new duplicate listings. Somehow the one listing that did exist with a wrong telephone number became eight listings with the same wrong telephone number. I communicated this issue to GoZoek Team within three days of that issue arising. Now I'm aware that they use a Third Party for Listing Management (Advice Local), but GoZoek sat on the errors for two and a half months before I took matters into my own hands. Once I spoke with Advice Local, all but one issue was fixed in 7 days. GoZoek made three landing pages (Under About Section) for Computer Repair and Service, Mac Computer Shop, and PC Computer Shop. Check them out; they're horrid. Even worse, they didn't include a Call to Action button on the page to increase conversions until I asked them why that was omitted. *shakes head* Side note, they still don't rank according to their Dashboard. GoZoek cleared all my previous SCHEMA Structured Data and applied the same Local Business SCHEMA on all pages. This change caused traffic to drop 60% from the previous month. Their Team told me to wait a few months, and it would go back up. Guess what, three months later, and it hasn't. Their dashboard (which links to our Google Search Console) shows our site is no longer ranking for the keywords they optimized my site for. I did have one employee try to swindle me into believing traffic was going up, but that was because of a blog post about "Why Computer Motherboards Fail," which I wrote and published in May 2021. That blog post gained a lot of traction outside the USA. Thankfully I had Google Analytics Reports before working with Zoeks and am familiar enough to show where traffic was coming from. Don't let them fool you with Clicks and Impressions either. Even more insult to injury was the GoZoek Team had Manager access to my Google My Business listing, which they said they would optimize. The only edit they made was keyword stuffing "Computer Repair" into the Company Name, which violates GMB conditions, and led to a suspension of that listing. Thankfully after paying $35.00 for Google's Small Business Advisors Support (I highly recommend this program for any small business) and explaining the situation, Google looked into the case and advised me to remove GoZoek access to the GMB Listing and restored the profile. With 60+ reviews on the listing and most of our calls coming from the Google Map Pack, this was a big hit in the wallet for the one week it was down. It's 2021, post-COVID era, and they don't do screen sharing. I sent a response to the CEO on my experience and have was told by their CEO, Sam R is out of the office "indefinitely" and the best they can do is refund $300.00 to me. Zoek's promise of Advanced SEO at no charge until traffic increase was not performed and they have blocked my phone number from their systems, banned me from communicated with them on their Social Media Pages and are ignoring my E-mails. Bringing Your Tech to Life **What do you like best about Zoek: Search Defined?** Go Zoek's custom Dashboard is friendly and well laid out, but it's provided by a third party that is just white-labeled for third parties to use. There is nothing positive I can say about GoZoek as a company, its employees, project managers, or CEO. **What do you dislike about Zoek: Search Defined?** There SEO team is not knowledgeable about SEO guidelines. They do not follow industry standards. Their salespeople lie about the money-back guarantee and advanced SEO for free until traffic increases. My e-mails are being ignored, and my phone number is blocked. This says all you need to know about this company. I can call using a Google Voice number or friends/family cell phone and get through. However, nine out of the ten times I've reached someone at GoZoek using another phone number, they hang up. **Recommendations to others considering Zoek: Search Defined:** Record calls with salespeople, so you have evidence of broken promises. Have Google Analytics Snapshots or SEO Reports using tools like SEMRush, UberSuggest, AHREFs as a baseline to compare what they did for your website. Better yet, avoid hiring them at all. **What problems is Zoek: Search Defined solving and how is that benefiting you?** The goal was to resolve a listing error on CitySearch.com, improve local rankings on Google and Bing Search Engines, improve Website Speed and Performance from a Google Core Web Vitals standpoint and improve Click Thru Rate (CTR). None of these items were accomplished, aside from decreasing website load time on mobile, which GoZoek accomplished by hiding content on the website's mobile view. ### 4. After 7 months I noticed none of my pages were even in the top 10 pages of Google search, and I had 3 other SEO companies telling me the same thing. Once I confronted Zoek they came up with all these solutions, change this, add that. My first thought was, lucky I didn't get the 6 month contract, I would have really had nothing. My second thought was, this is the first time we've communicated after the initial set up, if I hadn't contacted them maybe the silence and inaction would have continued. I gave them one more month, still nothing. I terminated the contract after 8 months and had to pay 50% of the remaining costs. I've since learnt SEO myself, to avoid all of that headache again, I've found dodgy practice that I know Google would not like - a websites/page is ranked largely due to the keywords on a particular page and Zoek to avoid confusion would write those keywords in places that a human would not notice them: - small text - font color same as background color The Google bots/spiders/algorithm would pick these keywords up and it would help with ranking, but this is dodgy and probs against Google policy, not good practice. I DO NOT recommend Zoek because of the above issues and more. **What do you like best about Zoek: Search Defined?** Communication was clear and understandable during the initial start up process, it's fast and the people I've spoken to are easy to talk to, even for me a dyslexic, construction worker with zero experience with computers. **What do you dislike about Zoek: Search Defined?** I've stated most of my dislikes in the above statements. - communication after the initial setup - the content added was incoherent and seemed like it was done by someone who's first language was not English - Dodgy SEO practice - expensive, especially because they were based in US and I'm in AUS - they did absolutely nothing for my social media which was all part of the 12 month contract - no results at all The whole experience lead me to learn SEO myself which is also not recommended as it's hard, not helped by my dyslexia. **Recommendations to others considering Zoek: Search Defined:** DONT DO IT! **What problems is Zoek: Search Defined solving and how is that benefiting you?** They taught me that if you want something done right then do it yourself. Response times, commitments about waiting for approvals before posting anything, articles being made visible when I was assured it'd be made private so it doesn't mess with our brand and website, which IS our business. **What problems is Zoek: Search Defined solving and how is that benefiting you?** So far, nothing except they fixed the keywords.
