The way you share estimates could make sense if it didn't require a clunky inefficient method of uploading esx files that have been shared. If the person sharing the file did not leave it unlocked or open then you cannot use the file. Instead of creating your own local copy of the file you are uploading, it connects to the original through their cloud system which causes multiple issues with utilization. Customer support is basically non-existent, it is near impossible to get help with the program. **What problems is Xactimate solving and how is that benefiting you?** It is the industry standard. That is the only "problem" it solves. The new updated version of the program is just a new look for the old software that was not good. ### 2. User friendly, and it gets better as they do more updates and add more tools. I started in the industry 10 years ago and had to learn everything on my own as I go, I used a few estimating products in the beginning but enjoyed Sactimate the most and have been using it ever since. **What do you dislike about Xactimate?** I would like to see a more detailed line item discription and more info on what is included or excluded in a particular line item. Would be a big help with talking to insurance adjusters. If there was more info it would eleminate opinion, and everyone could be on the same page and have all the same facts. **What problems is Xactimate solving and how is that benefiting you?** The amount of time to estimate a claim. It cames the process easy and with the tools available, makes it a fast way to write estimate consistanly with less errors. In my experience, using Xactimate as my estimating software has made getting paid by the carriers a faster process. ### 6. Especially for insurance claims. Whenever any natural disaster comes, there's a short time to meet customers' needs while their roofs leak or any other property damage that needs to be fixed as soon as possible, at this time, Xactimate helps a lot. ### 7. The pricing for labor, equipments and materials are all updated. **What do you dislike about Xactimate?** Sometimes the tool crashes. I would suggest you save your progress every time you make changes to the report. But I think you also consider the device that you're using. It is used almost universally throughout the industry and that makes it one of the best options available. **What do you dislike about Xactimate?** There are times when it does not have some of the specific items, materials, labor, etc., that I need for a claim. It can be difficult also to explain how the material and labor pricing works if someone is unfamiliar with the program. **What problems is Xactimate solving and how is that benefiting you?** Xactimate is well know and easy to quickly review and explain to a client because of my extensive background with the program. It is consistent and predictable which makes it the most effective option. ### 11. Comprehensive line items for removal/replacement of damaged items, as well as cleaning, detaching/resetting, labor hours and bid items. Symbility and Simsol simply do not compare. **What do you dislike about Xactimate?** Xactimate can be a bit buggy at times, but with enough use, you learn to navigate and even anticipate the small bugs that come with the program. In some cases, the bugs can be ignored entirely and in some other cases, you may have to revert to a prior version of your estimate to start over. Luckily, with the current release(s), it will autosave at intervals you can select. I choose to have it autosave every minute. **Recommendations to others considering Xactimate:** If you are a contractor, appraiser (of claims) or an Umpire (of claims), Xactimate is hands down the best tool to complete an easy-to-read and understand estimate that can be provided to a carrier or policyholder for use during their claim (or even to help resolve their claim) **What problems is Xactimate solving and how is that benefiting you?** Property damage claims, for both residential and commercial buildings. I also use it for contents damages, bid items from contractors, and permitting. The biggest benefit is printing a copy of your estimate to PDF and emailing for the quickest delivery method and sharing of your estimate. ### 17. This tool doesn't auto save options to save the data automatically in cloud.
