After trying one of the software applications that some producers recommended, which was too complicated to use, I found WriterDuet, which is not complicated. I am so thankful I did, since I was about to give up on writing because I couldn't find an industry-accepted format that I could easily use. I have won several awards with my writing, and although it was my idea, WriterDuet made it an Industry Standard and easy to use. It does what needs to be done next while you are writing, and the Questions and Answers section is easy to follow if I do not understand something. I won't name names, but I was knocked down on my first and second script submissions before finding industry-standard writing software. A Producer specifically suggested another software that was so difficult to use. I almost gave up writing, but found WriteDuet, and it saved me. WriterDuet helps put my script in the correct format with every sentence, for every action of the person speaking, and even has the option of 'DUAL' speaking persons. For example, going from screenwriting to graphic novel writing is sometimes a bit of a creative challenge. Thankfully, WriterDuet makes this a breeze. I can't even begin to describe how easy this software is to use. It is one of the most user-friendly scriptwriting software available. The best thing is that the free version is great but the Pro version is greater. I was happy to have found out about this software because now I carry my scripts right in my pocket. This excellent application brings together a series of amazing features among which the ones I like most are the following: - WriterDuet has a composition that makes it very simple and easy to understand when working with the program. - Its interface is too fast that facilitates everything when working. - It has a large number of tools to edit, create and modify everything we want in a simpler way. - And the most important thing and what catches my attention is that you can write at any time and place while you have a computer available. It seems to me that they put many limitations on people who do not have a Pro account in such software and you can even lose the documents stored there because of problems you may have when you log in. For the rest, I think it has a lot of problems with regard to functionality. What WriterDuet is good at is being a formatting app. The features that the software has are great ideas but need work. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com. What do you dislike about WriterDuet? \*Note that I am a young, advanced technology user (I work professionally in social media) and know my way around apps and word processors. I have had numerous issues with Writer Duet. First, I like saving each draft locally as a PDF. This feature is available but when I hit save it takes between 30 seconds and two minutes for the save dialog box to pop up. Frequently hitting save causes the site to crash and freeze. I contacted support and they said they could not find a cause. Writer Duet is also incredibly slow. I will often write a few lines and nothing shows up for several seconds. I spend a lot of time waiting on the site to catch up to my writing. It will also crash on me frequently, completely freezing, blanking the web page so it only shows the page's background color, and/or giving me a dialog box saying the site is not responding and do I want to wait or reload. I have lost the last several lines of what I just wrote many times. I usually remember exactly what I have written but when this happens on almost a daily basis, it really stems the writing flow. The longer my script or novel runs, the more issues I seem to have. Customer support is friendly and is obviously trying to be helpful but I have never gotten a solution or workaround from them for my issues. It has also sometimes taken several days to get a response. I've tried their online help chat feature and even when it says someone is available it most often sends me to email. I have had these issues across multiple computers, both PC and Mac and in multiple browsers including Chrome and Explorer. Other more minor complaints include features that are labeled similarly and aren't intuitive to use. Navigation is also confusing. When using the app on your phone, there is no scroll button you can click with your thumb to scroll through pages quickly, you have to move the whole page up/down manually with your thumb over and over to scroll a fair distance. I don't like how WD opens different projects in multiple tabs, then opens documents within that project in identical looking tabs. You have to stay on top of what tab goes to what project and I am constantly closing unwanted tabs instead of just switching between projects. They're extremely rude to you when you don't have a Pro account. I couldn't log in due to a technical issue on the site. I was a little worried the information I saved on there was lost, so I used their chat service and was connected with their CEO, Guy, from Austin. He bluntly told me that they won't help me because, "You need to support a company if you expect support back from them" and I should "buy a Pro account". He acted like I did something wrong for using their free online service which they willingly provide. Shaming people into financially supporting you has the opposite effect.
