This client is one of the largest freight procurement companies operating between Asia and Latin America, managing more than 250 ocean contracts at the same time. As the digital partner for this client, we process a high volume of freight rate files every week and month, and the structure of those files varies from one carrier to another. In the past, this created a lot of friction in our operations and required extensive manual processing. The risk with that approach is that manual workflows depend heavily on individual experience and are difficult to audit. It’s also hard to change a carrier’s format to comply with ours, so we often had to reprocess everything on our end. The WeTransform platform is intuitive and flexible, which made it easy for our team to get started, even with complex transformations. What stands out is the ability to configure how incoming data should be interpreted and transformed, and then let the system handle it automatically. That said, once this is in place, the system runs smoothly and requires very little ongoing effort for a fixed structure file. For teams dealing with lower volumes or already standardized data, the value might be less immediate. **What problems is WeTransform solving and how is that benefiting you?** We handle around 250 freight rate files per month, coming from multiple carriers and offices all around the world. The main challenge has been the accumulation of small (and sometimes big) differences between these files. Each carrier provides similar data, but with slight variations in structure, naming, or organization—basically, format multiplication. Over time, this created a significant operational burden. The risk is also somewhat hidden: when an output file has too many lines, it’s extremely hard for a human to proactively cross-check everything, but a single mistake can still lead to major commercial penalties if the data is wrong. Before using WeTransform, a team of four people manually reviewed and prepared each file before it could be imported into our system.
