## webtranslateit.com Reviews
  ### 1. WebtranslateIT = International scalability

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Rory C. | Committee Member of ISO/IEC JTC 1/SC 7/WG 21, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** October 05, 2022

**What do you like best about webtranslateit.com?**

I work in a nerdy schism of IT called Software Asset Management (SAM). I knew from the outset that I couldn't reasonably expect everyone to speak English. I required a product that would facilitate numerous translations to be imported into my maturity assessment platform in an automated but precise fashion. WebtranslateIT has never failed to deliver and is a vital cog in my international business.

**What do you dislike about webtranslateit.com?**

Nothing - I wouldn't change a thing. The idea of translations managed at scale in a dynamic IT fashion is wonderfully executed.

**What problems is webtranslateit.com solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Software Asset Management is a difficult-enough topic to relay in English. Having a utility that can support my translations via my platform means I can widen my delivery sphere without limiting myself to an Anglo-based view of the world.

  ### 2. Simple implementation and easy to use

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Ines K. | Product Owner of Fitekin, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** November 04, 2021

**What do you like best about webtranslateit.com?**

It was very easy to upload our existing translation keys using the API. It is very good that we can restrict user rights on a language-by-language basis, and this can be used for both in-house translators and outsourced translators at the same time. The solution is intuitive and, as we have more than 10 translators from different countries, it was very easy to onboard them. I really like that we can upload a screenshot of the pages where the translation key is located.
I like their support as well. They react quickly and professionally.

**What do you dislike about webtranslateit.com?**

I don't remember anything that bothers me. Maybe outdated UI? But it is not a blocking issue. I have thought that maybe it would be great if I can link some languages directly with Google translate because we do not have dedicated translators in place. But that's maybe just me not knowing how to do it? Maybe it is possible.

**What problems is webtranslateit.com solving and how is that benefiting you?**

- the opportunity is to offer users our solution in their native language
- more satisfied users
- an easy and quick way to translate the new keys
- overview of the untranslated keys
- easy to add a new language

**Official Response from Estelle Alexandre:**

> Hi Ines,
Thank you very much for your feedback! You'll be happy to know that we are currently working on a new design and there is indeed away to automatically translate your segments with machine translation if you don't have translators yet, here is the article of our documentation explaining how it works:
https://webtranslateit.com/en/docs/translation_interface/machine_translation/
I hope this helps!
Best regards,
Estelle

  ### 3. Best tool for localisation

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** José S. | Director of engineering @ JumiaPay, Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** September 24, 2021

**What do you like best about webtranslateit.com?**

This tool is great for localisation, it contains all that you need to set up a multi-language mobile application or website. I been using Webtranslateit now for 6 years and it is amazing.
It supports all kinds of file formats for all platforms, iOS, XML for Android, YML, or JSON
It allows multiple configurations to know what to do if a translation is missing, empty, fallback, or the translation key
I can assign multiple roles to users to define clear tasks
It has support for automatic suggestions, proofreading settings
I can use a CLI tool to integrate with my CI/CD platform.
I use the REST API to publish dynamically translations and content.
It supports well HTML or other types of markup.
RTL works like a charm.
Overall it has all that you need to be integrated as static files or dynamically to your building pipeline. It's awesome, for content managers, developers, or the SRE teams.

**What do you dislike about webtranslateit.com?**

The only downside I can think of, if you change the locale configuration it will rename the file containing the translations, make sure if you change the locale to review the file name.

**What problems is webtranslateit.com solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We build a multi-country, language e-commerce platform.
I want to have a central way to take care of all the multi-language content.
With this platform, I can even delegate my CMS management there, that way I avoid having to deal with a multi-language administration panel + a static content tool for translations. I push all my content to WTI and do the translations there.

**Official Response from Estelle Alexandre:**

> Hi José,
Thank you very much for your review! We are going to look into the fact that changing the locale configuration can affect the name of the file containing the translations and will get back yo you about that.

  ### 4. Simple for easy translation for small businesses

**Rating:** 3.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Insurance | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** October 26, 2022

**What do you like best about webtranslateit.com?**

Easy to use to help translate documents and communication

**What do you dislike about webtranslateit.com?**

Not the most up to date but still a good resource to use

**What problems is webtranslateit.com solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Helping to easily translate communincation

  ### 5. Great tool!

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Lizzie C. | Project Manager, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** November 26, 2021

**What do you like best about webtranslateit.com?**

We've used WebTranslateIt for years to translate our platforms, IOS & Andriod mobile apps into 30+ Languages. We've always used freelance translators and the process has always been so simple to get them set up and translating straight away which is so helpful, particularly on a tight deadline. The discussions feature has been invaluable to support translators in context to the appropriate string.

**What do you dislike about webtranslateit.com?**

The UI & design is a little dated; however, I hear that this may be being revamped!

**What problems is webtranslateit.com solving and how is that benefiting you?**

WTI helps us quickly & efficiently manage the translation process with users that are brand new to the service, but find it super easy to use.

  ### 6. Nice tool for managing localisation

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Norbert M. | Team Leader, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** September 29, 2021

**What do you like best about webtranslateit.com?**

We at Tresorit have been using Webtranslateit for more than four years. It's an excellent tool for managing localization. Our translators like the different filters they can use while working on the new segments.

**What do you dislike about webtranslateit.com?**

The UI is a bit outdated, but I heard that the team is working on a bigger revamp to introduce a new layout.
Another improvement would be to introduce tagging or aliasing a file to help the translators under Filers->File.

**What problems is webtranslateit.com solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Webtranslateit is the only solution we use at Tresorit for translating our Apps, WebApps, and Emails. We have 10 projects in WTI that different teams and different translators can manage parallelly.

**Official Response from Estelle Alexandre:**

> Hi Norbert,
Thank you very much for your feedback! We are indeed working on updating our design so stay tuned ;)
Can you please send us an email at support@webtranslateit.com with more details as to how you would like the files to be tagged?
Thanks,
Estelle

  ### 7. Good but not great

**Rating:** 3.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Retail | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** September 24, 2021

**What do you like best about webtranslateit.com?**

We've used WTI for years. It works well with the Ruby on Rails conventions (and other formats too) including stuff like pluralisation.

It highlights markup and validates things like same number of newlines, which can help catch issues.

Lets you provide explanatory texts and length limits.

**What do you dislike about webtranslateit.com?**

Syncing files between your repo and WTI is effectively like a force-push in Git – it does not attempt to intelligently merge, so we do the "WTI dance" – make local changes, stash them, pull down from WTI to verify nothing else would be affected, unstash, push to WTI. A more intelligent merge would be better. Better still would be if we didn't have to explicitly push from our dev environment to WTI – ideally we'd just push our changes to Git, and WTI would pick up the new or changed translations via a webhook or whatever.

Updates are slow in a big project, and the command-line utilities don't handle this well. If I e.g. push some source locale changes to WTI, it can then take several minutes and several tries before it lets me pull down the updated target locale files. If I want to commit all those changes together, that gets annoying.

**What problems is webtranslateit.com solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Letting external translators help translate our web site.

**Official Response from Estelle Alexandre:**

> Thank you very much for your constructive feedback! We are aware of the fact that updating big projects can take some time and we are currently working on this issue.
We'll definitely take into account your remarks regarding files syncing and we are open to hear any suggestion as to the way you would like to see the process happening differently.

  ### 8. Good tool that does the job fine

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Fabio S. | Product Manager, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** October 07, 2021

**What do you like best about webtranslateit.com?**

I like the simplicity, I don't want to learn how to use another tool and they manage to solve this well. Also I never saw the site down or had any technical issue.

**What do you dislike about webtranslateit.com?**

The interface it's a bit dated and it has too many buttons around, they need to hire an UI/UX designer.

**What problems is webtranslateit.com solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Translate a website into 15 languages. Translators found easy to use it and developers integrate it quicly into their workflow.

**Official Response from Estelle Alexandre:**

> Hi Fabio,
Thank you for your review! We are currently working on revamping WTI so stay tuned ;)

  ### 9. Useful platform

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Broadcast Media | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** November 08, 2021

**What do you like best about webtranslateit.com?**

Coordination of large translation projects for apps and websites : easy to use, easy to import translation files, easy to export, and easy to dialogue with different collaborators.

**What do you dislike about webtranslateit.com?**

Maybe the UI is not the fanciest you could have, it could be improved but still serves its purpose.

**What problems is webtranslateit.com solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Large translation project for apps and websites.
Benefits: time saving.
What is also great : the possibility to link to translation APIs (google translation for instance).

  ### 10. Very useful (needs some UI touches, though)

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Ivo J. | Senior Software Engineer, Computer Software, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** March 27, 2018

**What do you like best about webtranslateit.com?**

I love the fact it supplies bulk operations such as machine translation, copy tagging.
Makes it very easy to manage a multilingual app.

**What do you dislike about webtranslateit.com?**

The UI looks like something from the early 2000s. It is usable, just not that appealing...

**What problems is webtranslateit.com solving and how is that benefiting you?**

This makes very easy to hire language specialists and have them correcting the machine translations or even translate from the original language by themselves minimizing the need for developers to be involved in the process

**Official Response from Estelle Alexandre:**

> Hi Ivo,
Thank you very much for your review! We are currently working on revamping WTI so stay tuned ;)
