I've used Veras for about three months as Digital Marketing Manager at Yebehir Marketing to turn sketches and photos into concept renders for client campaigns. I upload a sketch or photo, add a prompt or preset for the style I want, and Veras creates the render.

What I like best is the speed. Even a rough sketch becomes a usable concept render in seconds, so I can make campaign visuals myself much faster than before. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

The main drawback is that results vary from render to render. The same sketch and prompt can give quite different images, so I often re-run renders several times before I get one that fits the campaign. More consistent results between runs would save me time. I like using Veras to visualize my projects in their early stages, especially when they aren't fully refined. It helps me see different perspectives for lighting, placement of characters, and other elements. I appreciate features like the specific seed selection, which allows me to maintain a consistent style across different views of a project. I also value the templates, particularly cinematic and landscape photography ones, as they provide a solid starting point that aligns with the style I want for my final renders. Veras allows me to quickly explore different design ideas while still keeping my original model and design intent. I can test different materials, forms, atmospheres and directions without having to start from scratch. For me, it is most interesting as a tool for the early design process, where I can explore and see possibilities that I might not have thought of before.

I mostly use Veras as part of my in-house design workflow, so the integrations with tools like Enscape and Corona are really useful. I like being able to quickly test different materials, atmospheres and design directions within my existing workflow.

The pricing, however, feels a bit on the high side. When experimenting with different materials and iterations, the credits can be used up quite quickly before I’m fully happy with the result.

The main thing I dislike is the credit system. When I’m exploring different materials, atmospheres and design options, I tend to iterate quite a lot, and the credits can be used up very quickly before I’m happy with the result.

I would also like to have more control over specific parts of the design. Sometimes I want to keep the architecture, proportions and geometry exactly as they are and only change one element, such as the material or landscape. Having more precise control over these changes would make Veras more useful within my architectural workflow.

One thing I find challenging when using Veras for video is that it can sometimes introduce things that I didn’t ask for, such as people, furniture or other objects appearing in the scene. When I’m working with architecture, I usually want to have quite a lot of control over what is in the frame, so these unexpected additions can make the result feel less accurate to the original design. I really like that Veras is built into my modeling software, making it very simple to use. It's a plug-in, so I don't have to leave my interface or stop designing. I can take a screenshot from SketchUp and continue in Veras for quick validations, then go back to modeling seamlessly. I also appreciate how easy it is to use, with natural language inputs and no complex technical stuff to figure out. I feel like Veras doesn't really translate its initial fast iteration efforts into the next step of the visualization process. I wish Veras were more connected to other software like Enscape or Envision, so the settings and decisions made could be seamlessly carried over, allowing for more control. One issue is the lack of control with Veras, which is more of a general thing with AI models. It relies heavily on iterations and prompting, making it hard to target specific adjustments or fine-tune details.
