## About Velocity.js
Velocity.js is a high-performance JavaScript animation engine that serves as a faster alternative to jQuery's `$.animate` function. It enables developers to create smooth and efficient animations across all modern browsers and devices, including support back to IE8 and Android 2.3. Velocity.js combines the best features of jQuery and CSS transitions, offering a robust solution for complex UI animations. Key Features and Functionality: - Performance Optimization: Velocity.js is optimized for speed, outperforming jQuery animations by utilizing hardware acceleration and minimizing layout thrashing. - Comprehensive Animation Support: It supports color animations, transforms, loops, easings, SVG animations, and scrolling, providing a versatile toolkit for developers. - Seamless Integration: Velocity.js works with and without jQuery, allowing for easy integration into existing projects without significant code changes. - Cross-Browser Compatibility: Ensures consistent performance across various browsers and devices, including older versions like IE8 and Android 2.3. - Advanced UI Effects: With the optional UI pack, developers gain access to pre-packaged effects such as callouts and transitions, enhancing user experience with minimal effort. Primary Value and Problem Solved: Velocity.js addresses the performance limitations of traditional jQuery animations by providing a faster, more efficient animation engine. It simplifies the creation of complex animations, offering a consistent API that works across all browsers and devices. By combining the ease of jQuery's syntax with the performance benefits of hardware-accelerated animations, Velocity.js empowers developers to enhance user interfaces without compromising on speed or compatibility.

## Velocity.js Reviews
 ### 1. Very easy tool for creating Animation

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Ayushi S. | Production Support Executive , Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** December 21, 2024

**What do you like best about Velocity.js?**

Velocity.js is an amazing tool for creating animations using javascript.
it is very easy to use with little to no learning curve if someone knows the basics.
It has a lot of functionalities for ceating any type of animation I can imagine.

**What do you dislike about Velocity.js?**

Velocity.js is an amazing tool for creating animation. i haven't faced any issues or anything to dislike apart from having a bit of performance issues.

**What problems is Velocity.js solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Velocity.js is helping me by saving me a lot of time while creating animations and using them in the Web apps for my project. It is helping me to convert the animations in my mind into a real animation.

 ### 2. Quality, easy to implement animations

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Marketing and Advertising | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** November 21, 2017

**What do you like best about Velocity.js?**

For a front end developer looking for a stand-alone animation library, this is the best option. It can interop with JQuery (and other front end frameworks) very nicely, and heavily reduces complexity for animation-heavy projects like social hubs and complex widgets. When you do not want to spend hours debugging widget animations, it is nice knowing velocity will just handle it for you.

**What do you dislike about Velocity.js?**

I wish there were multiple installation candidates. Compartmentalized libs that offer a single animation tool would make velocity JS usage less painful on smaller widgets. While velocity supports nearly every front end framework on the block, some frameworks already offer their own in-house animation library that is usually preferred over velocity.

**Recommendations to others considering Velocity.js:**

Check you front end framework docs first to see if it already has a preferred way of implementing animations.

**What problems is Velocity.js solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I use velocity JS to quickly develop animations for one-off single page applications. It greatly reduces dev time for high-interactivity widgets, and is easy enough to install that you can rapidly strut out a small client project with it.

 ### 3. Fun tool for motion in web pages

**Rating:** 1.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Fatir A. | Technical Designer - God of War, Entertainment, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** September 22, 2016

**What do you like best about Velocity.js?**

Velocity.js is probably the best standalone tool for handling animation and tweening in webpages. Lots of cool features and really easy to get running.

**What do you dislike about Velocity.js?**

Most of these really cool features aren't practical for most situations. This is very fun for playing around, but with more sites moving toward static simplicity, this seems more like a fun weekend experiment for casual users.

**Recommendations to others considering Velocity.js:**

This is a great product, but if you are already using jquery, be careful in including this as well. Make sure you need the additional features that come with the overhead of working with an additional library.

Also, make sure that you can't solve your problems using css instead, which is designed for animation and often leads to better and more performant results.

**What problems is Velocity.js solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Making fun web pages and experimenting with various web technologies. It's good to keep up with different web frameworks in case you need them, and velocity js is likely the best full featured solution for web page animation. I'm sure it can be used for other things, including game animations, but there are usually other solutions for those as well with better integration that still get the job done.

 ### 4. Animation so easy, grandma could do it!

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Jared S. | Game and Web Engineer, Entertainment, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** May 02, 2016

**What do you like best about Velocity.js?**

Animating and adjusting animations is so simple. I don't have to think about how to make things move! Developers can pick up the tooling quickly. We don't have to worry about additional requirements and that is really nice.

**What do you dislike about Velocity.js?**

The animation tooling is very robust, it can be challenging to pick up some of the interfaces in more complex animations, but I think it is all attributed to a learning curve.

**Recommendations to others considering Velocity.js:**

Go overboard in the development phases, harness the powers and then gradually tone down the animations. The tooling is amazing and you will love it. Playing around with the animating power then toning it down will allow you to see what it can do, making the animations subtle will ensure the page feels alive but not look cheesy.

**What problems is Velocity.js solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We are trying to make interfaces and UI look and feel good in our games and web apps. Using Velocity has helped increase the speed at which we make, iterate, and adjust those animations. It has greatly helped us improve all areas of our games and not just the menus.
