"Best for building community forum."
What do you like best about vBulletin Cloud?

Can't think of any other platform except Vbulletin to create a forum for my community, I have been using it for years and so far i have had not a single issue with it. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about vBulletin Cloud?

I have had no issues with Vbulletin as far as I am concerned. It's not overly mixed up with tons of features but simplified for you to host and moderate any community you build a forum for. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"A solid option to build your forum/community"
What do you like best about vBulletin Cloud?

It's a fairly user-friendly platform and easy to navigate. By the best part is the moderation tools. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about vBulletin Cloud?

A number of the templates look pretty outdated, so I do hope they update them in the future. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"vBulletin Review"
What do you like best about vBulletin Cloud?

It was very easy to set up without knowing much about vBulletin beforehand. There was also a lot of helpful information online that aided me in setting up vBulletin. In addition, I contacted the support team multiple times during the implementation process and they were very willing to help. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about vBulletin Cloud?

There was little ability to customize vBulletin to match my business website. I tried to get my company's logo represented in the header on vBulletin but ran into many sizing issues that prevented me from getting the exact look I wanted. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"vBulltin Cloud - it's OK if don't have tech skills and you are not too concerned with security"
What do you like best about vBulletin Cloud?

Ease of Use - As with all "Cloud" (or managed) solutions, this approach takes away the hassle of having to install the software yourself and to maintain it. Keeping the software up to date and secure can be expensive, so not having to worry about this is a plus. The same goes for not having to worry about choosing a hosting company that is "compatible" with vBulletin. Depending on the plan you choose, you also get access to support. You don't think support is something useful until you desperately need it and you cannot find anyone to help you. If you don't want to worry about the tech, and have someone help you setup and maintain the community, then vBulletin Cloud can be a good choice for you. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about vBulletin Cloud?

Bad Reputation - I have been using vBulletin 4.x for almost 8 years. I knew the code, and I could easily customize it to the needs of my community. When the company launched vBulletin 5.x (Connect and Cloud) I gave that a go as I was hoping for cleaner code, better integration, better performance, and support for PHP 7. I was disappointed. The solution felt rushed, it was full of bugs and I was not the only one complaining. To be fair, I continued to use the 4.x, self-hosted version, so I have not checked the Cloud edition in the past 3 years, and that is a long time for the software to grow.

Regardless of code quality, and overall performance, choosing a Cloud solution has its own disadvantages. You give up control in order to buy comfort. You can no longer customize the code and the extensions to make it a perfect fit for your needs. You rely on a third party to do your backups, and that is not always a good idea. You can no longer choose your hosting server, so you have little control over what kind of resources you want to make available for your forum, or if you want to use a load balancer. If you are technically oriented, and control is more important than comfort, then a better alternative is to get vBulletin 5 Connect, assuming that all the bugs have been ironed out. "vBulletin Cloud Review"
What do you like best about vBulletin Cloud?

Easy set up is the primary benefit and a non technical person can also set this up with little help. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about vBulletin Cloud?

The major drawback of vBulletin Cloud is it hold all controls at their own end and have limited access to a developer/programmer for infra related activities for selective backups. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Easy to use forum"
What do you like best about vBulletin Cloud?

Easy forum setup. Great way to converse with forum members and share ideas. Love the privacy settings and the ability to message members from within the forum. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about vBulletin Cloud?

A bit challenging to carryover older versions of Vbulletin to newer versions. Especially if your community is very text/image heavy. Uploading images is a bit cumbersome (can't simply upload directly from your device (computer/iphone) -- photos must be hosted somewhere), but there are other apps that provide an easy work-around to this. "Good service with good support"
What do you like best about vBulletin Cloud?

I have been using vBulletin software for over a decade and a big pain point was dealing with all the infrastructure, upgrades, backs and all that stuff. When I heard vBulletin Cloud would do that for you I got pretty excited about it. After trying for a month I can say the service provided is quite good and they do deliver what is promised. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about vBulletin Cloud?

My main complain is not about the vBulletin Cloud service itself but the "product" they use on their cloud service: vBulletin Connect. You can read more about it on my "vBulletin Connect" review, but long story short: vBulletin Connect (vB5) is nothing alike the previous vB3 and vB4 versions and I got pretty disappointed about it. If I could have vBulletin Connect running vB4 I'd be very satisfied. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
