"Superior to other cloud providers in every way"
What do you like best about UpCloud?

A little-known outside of Europe company in Finland is by far superior to its peers in terms of value, pricing, simplicity of use, and reliability.

The support is OK, although I am not particularly impressed with the Singapore team, but it's everywhere like this. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about UpCloud?

I have two gripes, generally.

One is that the pricing went up in 2023, but I can understand why. The bigger issue is that they switched to euro, which makes it more difficult to convince my US partners to use it.

The second one is support in Singapore. They are so-so, although responsive. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Responsive and great support channels, fair CPU server pricing and good amount of features"
What do you like best about UpCloud?

Extremely responsive and great customer support, no need to wait to get responses to your questions and feedback is taken to team directly from the support chat.

Servers offer latest 5th Gen EPYC CPUs (9575F to be specific), which have very good performance for both multi-core and single-core needs.

Very generous "Fair Usage Limit" for outgoing network bandwidth outside the DC's. It's basically free egress unless you're doing something really heavy, in which case I believe a quick chat with the customer support will solve that as well.

For more direct server management/usage, it's been very easy to use, instructions on how to connect to the server using SSH are easily available and reflect the current network settings of given server.

The CPU server pricing is very fair given the above, and I have a 24/7 WebRTC SFU running on one lower-end server without any issues or downtime so far. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about UpCloud?

GPU pricing is bit heavier compared to other providers, also there's only single GPU model available at the moment and it's only NVIDIA (L40S). Would love to see other vendors for their SR-IOV support.

Lack of CaaS (Container as a Service) features, there's Kubernetes but that's quite heavy for my simpler needs.

Lack of Team/Project grouping or similar feature which allows multiple accounts to manage shared servers with possibly shared funds. The feature is in their roadmap, however I believe this is quite important for any larger projects and should've been added long ago.

Some of the server templates are very outdated, granted it's hard to keep a rolling distribution such as Arch up-to-date, but since it's an option - I'd expect it to be kept up-to-date with couple months of lag atleast, not over a year. Additionally, the custom image storage option is perhaps bit too pricey, since you can have storage device with same size bundled with a server plan for way cheaper.
