The Universal Data Tool is a web/desktop app for editing and annotating images, text, audio, documents and to view and edit any data defined in the extensible .udt.json and .udt.csv standard. Collaborate with others in real time, easily train labelers, integrate into your applications. Perform Image Segmentation, Image Classification, Audio Transcription, Named Entity Recognition (NER) and Named Entity Linking (NEL). Run with docker, use with Tensorflow, Keras, or Fast.ai.

Being able to use it from the web without the need to install it, ease of use and very easy to learn

The very simplicity sometimes makes you feel that options are lacking

For now it is a learning of what Data labeling can do, but it is seen with great potential

The ease-of-use, both in the app and programmatically, make it both a safe and powerful option.

**What do you dislike about Universal Data Tool?**

For massive datasets, there are limitations to the collaborative features.

**Recommendations to others considering Universal Data Tool:**

Use the Universal Data Tool to have a transparent data pipeline for developers, data scientists and users. Developers can easily integrate udt.csv or udt.json files, and users or data scientists can easily manage the data.

**What problems is Universal Data Tool solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We've annotated datasets of images, including plants for farming and warehouse segmentations with about 150 labelers. Throughout the process the Universal Data Tool provided useful features, including collaborative editing and a way to create labeler training.
