It allowed us to detect anomalies on the spot, and based on patterns, leaving behind the old detection by setting fixed thresholds. What do you dislike about Umbrella? The first time setup of a stream coming from BigQuery was a bit confusing. Nevertheless I got awesome support and it was solved within the day. In some cases is elusive harmony between of level of information granularity and ready arrangement, which means progressively definite information more alarms then again with less subtleties then you may miss something. Recommendations to others considering Umbrella: Anodot is quite pricy so you really need to consider when to use it, if your problem can be tackled with easy algorithms then go for it. What do you dislike about Umbrella? Anodot's anomaly detection is not perfect, the system needs time to detect weekly and monthly seasonalities. What problems is Umbrella solving and how is that benefiting you? By using Anodot we are able to catch anomalies in our system which were previously undetected. We run hundreds of servers, services and customers. Monitoring each of these manually and tailoring a relevant alert for each interesting metric would take us a lifetime. It's not always very intuitive to connect a business use case to the "language" Anodot can work with. The tool is very technical and requires mental investment in order to get the hang of. It is not possible to get to see the backend of their Algorithm and understand how it works, as it's proprietary.
