**What do you like best about TrueLayer?**

TrueLayer were extremely approachable and knowledgable on their product and bent over backwards to accommodate our requirements. We chose them out of a list of 6 suppliers we had spoken to and believe that their product is more flexible and will totally suit our needs. Our initial contact Henry Lee was fantastic!!

**What do you dislike about TrueLayer?**

We are at the early stages (about to commence the project) therefore there is absoluley nothing I could say needs improvement.

**What problems is TrueLayer solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We are seeing an increased number of debit card payments from our customers, which are extremely costly. Therefore we have been looking at a cheaper alternative and one which also plays to our strenghts of being a fintech.

**What do you like best about TrueLayer?**

The team at Truelayer is very responsive. We filed so many tickets at the development phase, which were all properly followed up by their team so that we always know they are on top of our queries.

**What do you dislike about TrueLayer?**

Getting an up to date view on all the banks their API is connecting with is not as user friendly as before, where it used be a simple list of banks showing what is connected or not. Not very easy to view and see the total banks connected nowadays with the new card style in a glance.

**What problems is TrueLayer solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Integration with their APIs is not necessarily straightforward across all banks. We managed to solve loads of problems that impacted our app performance. Benefits are all directly related to how easy we can make our UX to be for our users.

**What do you like best about TrueLayer?**

The ease of implementation into our business model is the best part of it all. Without the use of Truelayer and open banking, our business model would be a real challenge. Ensuring we can give our customers the best experience available.

**What do you dislike about TrueLayer?**

There is nothing I really dislike apart from the occasional downtime. Some of the banks don't appear to be fully updated using open banking, which has seen payments returned or not executed. In turn, this causes frustration without customers. The use of variable reoccurring payments will also be a great win for us when this is rolled out further!

**Recommendations to others considering TrueLayer:**

Definitely speak to the time and enquire about implementing open banking into your process. The best decision we made!

**What problems is TrueLayer solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Being able to automate the payments to customers has really changed the game for us. Instant refunds and instant payments really build trust within our client base.

**What do you like best about TrueLayer?**

Seamless integration between our own bespoke customer portal and TrueLayer systems.

**What do you dislike about TrueLayer?**

I am yet to discover a dislike. TrueLayer were great from intial interactions, through implemantation and follow up support.

**Recommendations to others considering TrueLayer:**

TrueLayer enabled us to move forward with the introduction of Open Banking in our industry. Let them help you make this step too.

**What problems is TrueLayer solving and how is that benefiting you?**

With the introduction of open banking if has enabled our clients to share their company banking data quickly and securely. We previously relied on a paper mandate which slowed down the process. TrueLayer improved our customer experience by eliminating the need to provide paper bank statements or signing of paper mandates.

**What do you like best about TrueLayer?**

Our integration with TrueLayer was straightforwards, in large part due to the quality of the technical documentation they provide. Our relationship manager was on hand to help with any issues we had.

**What do you dislike about TrueLayer?**

Whilst we're quite happy with the service we receive, on the AIS side, we'd like to see improvements to transaction categorisation, but we understand this is constantly evolving.

**What problems is TrueLayer solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We use TrueLayer to facilitate instant payments through their PIS services, and we've seen share-of-checkout grow to >60% since launch, which we're very impressed we. We have also recently integrated AIS services to drive some experimental features.

**What do you like best about TrueLayer?**

The API service runs very smoothly, with regular customer updates to inform us when they are connection or payment issues. On top of the API service, TrueLayer helped with regulation - they enabled us to get an agency under their FCA license, which was immensely helpful in our transition from a start-up to a fully-fledged business. What I like best about TrueLayer is how smooth their customer service is, they are informative and helpful, pushing us towards our goals.

**What do you dislike about TrueLayer?**

It would be helpful if there were more capacity for customization. I also think that the insights API should make a return, it was helpful in our line of business. I'm also looking to expand into Europe, with TrueLayer's Irish license, which I look forward to exploring.

**What problems is TrueLayer solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We run a financial data business that helps users cancel their wasteful subscriptions and enables companies to track consumer spending habits across a broad range of sectors.

What we like most is the ease of integration and how simple the api is to work with. The documentation is also great.

**What do you dislike about TrueLayer?**

As it is a rails platform, the UI can look better for companies that may not have the resources to build their own UI.

Seamless bank payments, the benefits have been that the customers trust the process and it is becoming more popular as a method of payment for us.

I have been using their Payment APIs for a while and have seen it grow from strength to strength. 

The customer service is brilliant and always has a quick turnaround.

Their customer service I think they pick up keywords and it's a while to understand the problem. But, at the end of the day all good.

**What do you like best about TrueLayer?**

Truelayer has one of the best products in the industry. We just had a difficult time integrating the first time round (2018) and were limited by the adoption of banks.
The tenant experience is great and seamless compared to a lot of other companies I have seen

**What do you dislike about TrueLayer?**

Testing with different bank accounts is quite hard. There is no easy way of testing that the flow works with lots of different accounts in production apart from getting people in the business with different banks to test it

Lower cost of payments (as a replacement to cards)

- Stable API which abstracts away the ever-changing Open Banking APIs

- Cost is quite high
- Mutatable transaction IDs leading to some weird behaviour that we've had to build a workaround for (a unique ID should never change)

**What problems is TrueLayer solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Rather than connecting to dozens of banks ourselves and maintaining connections, TrueLayer handles this all for us. This saves us the cost of having multiple developers and allowed us to get our product to market much faster and without much risk.

**What do you like best about TrueLayer?**

We loved using TrueLayer's documentation while integrating with their Payments API, it was clear and easy to use.

**What do you dislike about TrueLayer?**

We had some minor problems initially with Truelayer removing/adding support to banks without a notification. That caused our user experience to change unexpectedly, but we eventually established a good way of communicating and it was resolved.

**What problems is TrueLayer solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We wanted to offer our clients Pay-by-bank as an additional payment method, and we did not have the time or capacity to integrate with every bank on the UK.
We were able to achieve it using a single integration with TrueLayer.

Truelayer has an excellent client relations team and has gone to the trouble to produce good documentation that provides the information required to get the integration started.

Coverage isn't as complete as we would have liked for Europe; however they are working on increasing this.

We have a requirement to provide our investors with the best UX to move their money into their COCOA investment accounts securely. Providing the option to utilise Open Banking increases the conversion and real AUM by making it a more straightforward process for investors.

TrueLayer was one of the first companies to implement open banking and has integrated many banks along the way, allowing for extensive coverage. The user flow is effortless to use from a deposit perspective, and their customer service is very helpful.

Not a pure dislike; however, the more integrated banks there are, the more valuable the product becomes.

It's a good product overall with the best performance in their category and a clean API that is easy to integrate and use. The tech is good and doesn't add much overhead.

**What do you dislike about TrueLayer?**

Some competitors are supporting more banks and institutions than Truelayer. Sometimes it doesn't do an excellent job at standardizing the input and outputs that the banks require, leaving that work to be implemented by client apps.

It solves the problem of connecting to multiple banks and other financial institutions throughout the world via a straightforward API instead of integrating each separately using Open Banking and other standards.

Awesome customer service. We built a product from the ground up using Open Banking with just a small developer team, and Truelayer was always there along the way. Applying for our FCA license now, they are also being  very helpful.

Hard to think of anything to dislike. They're great at what they do. Maybe if they allowed more customization of the consent flow, it would give us more control?

TrueLayer allows us to safely and securely get user's banking data, allowing to serve give insights back to the users and give them financial compensation for their data.

The api set and documentation is pretty good, support is pretty prompt as well, and we managed to write a quick MVP with their api.

Unnanounced breaking changes can introduce bugs in your solution.

The single integration with nearly all UK banks is the main selling point.

**What do you dislike about TrueLayer?**

The income estimation API had a bumpy start and we ended abandoning our integration with it. They also don't share their IP ranges so reliable IP whitelisting is hard to achieve.

Their service is easy to integrate with and use and very reliable. The team are very open and share best practice in an industry moving very quickly.

**What do you dislike about TrueLayer?**

Truelayer's service is great, it would have been good to hear more guidance on payment limits with certain banks. However, this is not controlled by Truelayer but rather than banks themselves and varies by the type of account holder.
