TrackingTime has been a really useful tool for me as a freelance graphic designer managing hours across multiple clients. The UI is clean and intuitive without being overloaded with features. My favourite feature is the desktop quick-start timer, which lets me easily toggle between clients and projects while keeping my hours accurately logged.

It fits seamlessly into my daily workflow and has always been quick and reliable. The scheduling and invoice tracking tools are particularly handy, giving me a clear overview of completed work, billable hours and what I’m owed without needing to manage everything separately.

As a freelancer, I use the free version because I simply don’t require many of the larger tools designed for office-sized teams. What I do use still saves me a significant amount of admin time and gives me confidence that I’m billing clients accurately. I also found it straightforward to set up and start using without a steep learning curve.

I haven’t yet explored TrackingTime’s integrations in depth, but there are plenty of options available that I’m keen to trial. Being able to integrate time tracking directly with tools such as Gmail, Google Calendar, Trello and other project-management platforms could make an already simple workflow even more efficient. There are also options to automate workflows through services such as Zapier and Make, which is something I can see becoming increasingly useful as I connect more of the software I use day to day.

Likewise, I don’t currently rely heavily on AI for time tracking due to the nature of my work, but I like that the options are there to explore. TrackingTime’s AI tools can assist with logging work, completing timesheets and creating tasks, while its newer automatic tracking features can use activity from your working day to suggest time entries for you to review and approve. The ability to connect TrackingTime with AI assistants such as ChatGPT is also an interesting addition that I’d like to explore further.

Ultimately, what I like most about TrackingTime is its simplicity. It quietly handles the timekeeping and organisation in the background, so I can spend less time thinking about my hours and more time focused on my design work. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

It's so simple to use and, above all, accurate. I find the automatic idle detection a lifesaver for keeping accurate timesheets. It's a very useful app for organizing the time spent on each project/client and keeping track of how much time each one required. This way, even the smallest bursts of work can be valued. I use TrackingTime PRO to keep track of the hours I work on each task and project. It allows me to maintain a clear and reliable record so I can later bill each client accordingly and efficiently. I really like the desktop app because with just a couple of clicks I can start tracking time. Also, the repeat task button is very useful. It's all about how easy and fast it is; I stop working and when I return to the desk to continue with the same task, I can resume tracking with just one click. I think the Pro version of TrackinTime is one of the best tools I use for tracking time. I have used others before, which were not really easy to use from my pov, but this provides a better overall experience. I found it very flexible and faster than the others.

Because I take breaks regularly, it has happened many times for me to forget to start tracking the time after pausing it before. And because of that, I started working without tracking the time and lost some billable minutes, even hours in a day. But fixed this with the feature of adding manual time, from a specific time to another one. I also like that you can add as many details as you want for each block of time you tracked.

I saw that you can integrate it with many apps, which is great, and the ones that I am using in my work were also there :) Slack and Google Calendar.

Also, didn't have any problems with the customer support experience and they helped me every time I got stuck in meeting my needs.

I saw that the tracking time doesn't automatically pause if my Mac gets into sleep mode. Not sure why, but normally, the tracking time should stop. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

Date visibility issues: Hidden or unclear future dates can create data inconsistencies over time.

Duplicate entry risk: Because of that visibility gap, it’s easier to accidentally log the same time twice.

Limited built-in invoicing: Generating monthly invoices may require an added fee or extra steps, rather than being a seamless included feature.
