Great1 **What do you dislike about Tom's Planner?** Little about setting an effective dashboard is need. **What problems is Tom's Planner solving and how is that benefiting you?** With our complex process and data sharing, Tom's Planner solve our issues with real time sharing of data and plans, it resolved or immediate feedback systems and very much simple tools to use. Great tool for simple planning **Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars **Reviewed by:** Verified User in Marketing and Advertising | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.) **Reviewed Date:** August 17, 2020 **What do you like best about Tom's Planner?** Simplicity in usage - no complicated connections, you can do anything you want just clicking on what you need. **What do you dislike about Tom's Planner?** No synchronizations with third parties - I can't sync with Jira, for instance, or can't set up a notification, or a connection to Google sheet. I can do that once by migrating, by this won't work if I need it to work all the time. But I guess that's my problem - not Tom's, cause this maybe just not the tool that was supposed to be very integrated and auto-updated. **What problems is Tom's Planner solving and how is that benefiting you?** I am managing the ongoing team's tasks, basically, I use it to give myself a top-level overview of what's going on, and to plan the following week/month. The best thing about how it works is that I can put several time blocks in a row, which is typically not possible in classic Gannt chart ### 3. I could pick up and use straight away without thinking about it and anything that I wasn't sure about I managed to work out pretty quickly. It was just such and under complicated way of tracking projects compared to other tools I had used in the past. **What do you dislike about Tom's Planner?** To be fair I can't remember disliking anything when using it. There wasn't anything I needed to do that it wouldn't let me. **Recommendations to others considering Tom's Planner:** Do it! Whether the free version or paid. The paid version is still pretty cheap anyway and the simplicity of the tool makes it worthwhile but most people can probably get what you need from the free version anyway. **What problems is Tom's Planner solving and how is that benefiting you?** I used it for lots of different projects. Both within work and for personal projects too. Tom Planner allows me to access from my table or mobile without complications also has an interface with unique design, I like it because when I'm not in my office I just have to take the Tablet and be aware of the tasks that I have pending easily and fun . Now I am able to control more work in less time and more organized **What do you dislike about Tom's Planner?** I would like the interface to be able to choose different topics such as light, dark or even colors, since I like to have a view with a dark background and clear letters allowing me to observe and highlight the work spaces **Recommendations to others considering Tom's Planner:** is a fantastic and creative tool capable of offering many templates from different areas such as construction, web design, business, conferences, resources and even weddings is also great to fit any user without having so much knowledge in the world of technology thanks to their demonstrations through videos and specialized training **What problems is Tom's Planner solving and how is that benefiting you?** There have always been problems in organizing a large number of programs in a more organized way in our company. With the help of this software I can organize the tasks / projects and schedule meetings to move them on the most convenient date so that my colleagues do not miss. Tom Planner has many advantages, one of which is that it can be installed on all devices and the other advantage is that I can monitor resources through the Gantt diagram ### 5. I have used things like Project and it is way too detailed for the vast majority of projects/things that most people need to manage. Also nice that it's free up to a certain level. **What do you dislike about Tom's Planner?** Wouldn't say 'dislike' anything but would be nice for a few more features to make things a touch more manageable such as easy way to move/change dependencies etc. **Recommendations to others considering Tom's Planner:** Do it - you've nothing to lose **What problems is Tom's Planner solving and how is that benefiting you?** Just makes it easy to manage small to medium projects of any nature. I've recommended the platform to loads of people who have since started using it to and have given me the same feedback. ### 6. It also has different views based on lengths of time. **What do you dislike about Tom's Planner?** Tom's Planner is completely outclassed by other more full-featured tools like Smartsheet in that it doesn't have resources, more simplified or more complex views. The process of spinning up an initial chart is time-consuming, and the only way to do that quickly is to copy another project or make your own "template" of frequently-used project types. Budgeting and risk assessment are also noticeably missing from the feature set. Tom's Planner's user experience and user interface are also awkward. The tool feels like it was developed a decade ago, perhaps as standalone software that was reformatted to live within a web browser. In the four years that we've used the tool, there has been no improvement on the user interface at all. Dependencies were just added a couple of years ago, so it worries me that the tool is just not being kept up as much as it probably should. **Recommendations to others considering Tom's Planner:** Look at all the other Gannt-charting tools available. This one does simple charts well, but if you want any more complexity, you'd be better served by another tool. **What problems is Tom's Planner solving and how is that benefiting you?** We are able to more quickly and accurately show the timeline and dependencies of a project than with Excel. Because of this, we can be more creative with planning out and resourcing our projects. ### 7. I also did not enjoy that only one user could be editing a document at any time. **Recommendations to others considering Tom's Planner:** There are a lot of products and solutions out there for project planning. If all you need is a simple way to product Gantt carts without a lot of frills, Toms Planner is hard to beat. However, it is missing some of the features of a more robust solution, like task assignment and time tracking. **What problems is Tom's Planner solving and how is that benefiting you?** We needed a cost-effective and user friendly solution to plot out a huge rebranding and marketing effort for a large client. With this product, multiple users were able to access the same file to view or edit, based on their permission level.
