Tight vnc is very easy to install and use. it connects to the remote desktop in less than a second so performance is good.. It is very secure as it requires a password to connect to the remote system, and that password can be set manually in a remote system. Tight vnc supports Windows and Mac, Linux desktops, and Linux Servers. can take multiple connections at the same time. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

TightVNC is a popular remote desktop software that allows users to access and control a computer desktop remotely over a network connection. Some of the features that users appreciate about TightVNC include:
Cross-Platform Support: TightVNC is available on various platforms, including Windows, macOS, and Linux, making it versatile and widely accessible.
Free and Open Source: TightVNC is distributed under an open-source license, meaning it's free to use, modify, and distribute, which is appealing to many users and organizations.
Reliable Performance: The software is known for its reliable performance and relatively low resource consumption, which makes it suitable for various hardware configurations and network conditions.
Encryption and Security: TightVNC supports encryption of data transmission, providing a level of security when accessing remote desktops over unsecured networks.
File Transfer: The software allows users to transfer files between the local and remote computers during a remote session, enhancing its usability for various purposes.

Customizable Settings: Users can configure various settings according to their preferences and network environment, allowing for a more personalized experience. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
Performance over Slow Networks: While TightVNC performs well on local networks and decent internet connections, its performance may suffer over slower or congested networks, leading to lag and lower image quality.
Security Concerns: While TightVNC does support encryption for data transmission, some users might prefer more robust security features found in other remote desktop solutions.
Limited Features: Compared to some commercial remote desktop applications, TightVNC might have fewer advanced features and functionalities, which might be important for specific use cases.
Complex Network Configurations: Setting up TightVNC to work over the internet or across different networks might require some networking knowledge, and it could be challenging for less tech-savvy users.
Platform Limitations: Although TightVNC is cross-platform, some users might find that certain features work better on specific operating systems, leading to a slightly inconsistent experience.
Connection Issues: Some users may encounter difficulties with establishing or maintaining connections, especially when dealing with firewalls or routers that require port forwarding.
Lack of Ongoing Development: As of my last update in September 2021, TightVNC's development had been relatively slow compared to some other remote desktop solutions, leading to potential concerns about future updates and enhancements. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

To operate through Public internet, we need to do some configurations like port forwarding, which is very uncomfortable Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

Tight VNC has all the things that you need to remotely access the GUI of a server or a remote device.
The best part is the configuration to get it up and running takes only a little time if you know what you are doing.
Compared to Paid VNC services, if you set up your firewall and tunnel to use it, this works better than most. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

TightVNC is a free, lightweight client that has makes connecting to non-critical machines near effortless. Even walking a non-technical person through the installer is relatively easy. Even changing settings are a breeze. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
The only items I dislike about TighVNC are the lack of end-to-end encryption standards. From what I read, it's still exploitable, so we would never trust it on machines that require privacy or server environments which is a shame because it's the fastest way for us to reach a device without using an RDP session. Another (minor, for us) dislike is the lack of granularity of settings and options compared to other paid programs, but again, it's free and works for us as-is.
