I really appreciate that I can use it without needing a business or work account. A lot of people want to analyze job data even if they aren’t a business or currently employed, and this approach makes it much more accessible. I also like that the pricing is published up front with no sales call required. The fact that credits roll over for 12 months, along with cancel-anytime billing, makes it genuinely workable for a self-funded project—not just for teams going through a procurement process. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com. What do you dislike about TheirStack? The web app doesn’t feel built for analysis so much as for lookup. There’s no way to apply include/exclude keyword logic across job descriptions, and exports are capped at 200 jobs per company. So if you want to do any real study, you end up pulling records into a local database and doing the analysis there. That’s fine once you understand the limitation, but nothing in the product makes it clear up front. The API has a similar documentation gap. Broad queries—like many OR title terms over a long date range, especially with include\_total\_results—don’t return an error; they just hang until they time out. That comes across as a broken product rather than an expensive request. Time-bucketing is the workaround for both that issue and deep pagination, but I lost a working session figuring it out empirically. A simple “how to pull a large corpus” page would have prevented that. One smaller thing: API credits recharge in full every time you re-run a query, while company credits give 90 days of unlimited re-access after a single reveal. The part of the product that’s meant for iteration is the one that penalizes iteration. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com. What problems is TheirStack solving and how is that benefiting you? Official labour market statistics vary enormously in quality from country to country. Where I live, there’s no reliable public source that tells you which skills employers are actually asking for right now, so career decisions end up being made on anecdote, LinkedIn commentary, and advice from people whose experience is a decade out of date. TheirStack replaces that guesswork with something countable. Because job postings are records rather than summaries, I can pull a filtered corpus into a local database and ask questions that no published report seems to answer: how many roles of a given type were posted, which tools and certifications show up in descriptions (and how often), which of two competing technologies is more in demand, what experience level is typically required, and who the largest employers are. I’ve used it to evaluate which professional certifications actually have demand in my market before committing time and money, and to sanity-check my own retraining path against what employers are asking for rather than what the internet says. The historical depth matters as much as the coverage. Being able to see whether a skill’s share of postings is rising or falling over two years is the difference between a snapshot and a trend. Salary data would strengthen this further, although in my market disclosure rates in postings are low; that’s a limitation of the underlying job ads rather than of TheirStack. TheirStack has been great to work with, mainly because their communication is really strong. I can text Christian and Xoel on Slack anytime, and they’re always super responsive whether it’s an issue we run into or a new use case we want to talk through. Their APIs have also been very stable. We’ve been using them for over a year and haven’t had any major issues. Any minor issues we did have were handled well, Christian and Xoel always communicated clearly, gave us a resolution date, kept us updated, and provided solutions quickly. The only thing I’d say is I wish the product was a bit more customized to our use case.
