"Corporate Extortion At It's Finest"

What do you like best about The Work Number?

You can quickly get a client's income information so that they can qualify for a loan. Nothing more Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about The Work Number?

This service is an unnecessary evil. They charge an exorbitant fee, and their billing is not transparent whatsoever. If you need help with anything, it's another department, another form and a no one there can help in any real way. On top of that, the data is generally poor and can't be used unless a client's income is extra simple. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

Recommendations to others considering The Work Number:

If you can avoid using it you should. Unfortunately, it's owned by Equifax so it already is a monopoly creating extra costs and extra steps. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What problems is The Work Number solving and how is that benefiting you?

Get income information for a client from their employer. It's a great benefit to the employer and an expensive and inaccurate detriment to the employee and anyone who has to use the service. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you like best about The Work Number?

The Work Number makes things easy! For our business, all we have to do is type in the social security number and we see results immediately. It truly makes the collection process so much easier for our employees! Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about The Work Number?

I wish more employers reported to the work number. I feel as if there are a limited amount of employers who report to the agency. Although, that is no fault of the Work Number. It would be more helpful if more places reported to the Work Number! Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you like best about The Work Number?

The website opened up. It did recognize the Cleveland Clinic. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about The Work Number?

The Work Number was unable to locate any information that a well-known, large hospital placed at its disposal. It asked for a password that did not exist, and offered to send a new one to a phone number or email addresses that the hospital and its human resources department did not recognize. It asked for personal information, then typed that it would not open up. What does it do with such personal information? Why not be accessible to alumni of institutions that have paid good money to be represented? Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"A real time-saver for HR and Payroll"

The Work Number helped us streamline our process for responding to many different types of inquiries for Verification of Employment. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you like best about The Work Number?

Once it was set up and tested, we were able to provide instructions to our employees on how to set up their own account when they knew they would need an employment verification, such as buying a new car or renting a new apartment. That made it quick and simple for their creditor to get the information that was needed quickly and efficiently.

It is also a huge time-saver for our HR and Payroll staff, to not have to complete as many verifications on a weekly basis via paper forms. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about The Work Number?

Some smaller creditors are not willing to use The Work Number, so we still get those verifications to complete manually. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
