The other ones I use at work doesn't work together so I have to navigate between different system to do one job. **What problems is Syspro solving and how is that benefiting you?** Where materials are located and in historical bins if I need to go track it down. It shows me when work orders are complete and if not what operation they are on. If I can not receive a work order I go in to see what materials are not being issued to the work order so I can fix that. The training manuals are thorough. The database is well-designed. I have confidence in the integrity of the data. **What do you dislike about Syspro?** There are only two downsides that come to mind. 1) It is SO customizable that each form has a myriad of fields. Once you know which fields you need to use for your system, this is not a problem, but can be confusing for the less trained. 2) The reporting can be limited in the parameters that you can choose. However, for a data analyst, it is easy to create custom reports. **What problems is Syspro solving and how is that benefiting you?** Tying together sales, manufacturing, AP and inventory in a seamless system and general ledger where all the information is in one system. The options to program with Business Objects allow us to develop our integrations rather than rely on existing software packages. **What do you dislike about Syspro?** The recommended built-in solution for EDI and Shipping system has many issues and needs an overhaul. The ability to run Syspro as a service is not an option. From purchasing to sale, the various modules are fully integrated for seamless processing and movement of our raw material, wip, and finished products that mirrors how we actually manufacture out on the plant floor. SysPro handles serial #'s and lot #'s like a pro, providing the historical tracking we need. The accounting modules are just as integrated with each other and the manufacturing related modules, making it a fully robust financial software too. **What do you dislike about Syspro?** The products we manufacture have seasonality to them and require being manufactured weeks to months in advance of their respective "selling season" in order to meet the demand. Currently, SysPro's MRP modules and production scheduling modules do not handle this scenario well at all. We make use of certain functions within MRP but cannot fully implement it and rely on it as we would like. **What problems is Syspro solving and how is that benefiting you?** Recently we just activated the Quotations module in SysPro, allowing us to move the customer quote generations from Excel templates. This has allowed us to streamline the whole quote to sales order cycle. It eliminated a completely manual intensive set of tasks and took it to almost a complete click-n-choose process where the quote is generated in just a few minutes, not several, and creation of a sales order takes just a couple clicks. We can now crank out more quotes per day with the same staff, especially in peek selling times. ### 26. This means that discounts, pricing adjustments, deals, accruals etc. are all factored into the application. **What do you dislike about Syspro?** Some North American industry practices are not reflected in SysPro and those require bridge solutions or customization. they should be product enhancements for in region customers. **What problems is Syspro solving and how is that benefiting you?** Removing legacy applications and moving the business to more standard industry practices and re-evaluating our business processes to align to best practices. No need to have previous ERP user experience to use it; anybody can use it with little training. Its workflow is very logical. I like the feature of copying data from previous orders so that we don't need to write details again and again for the same parties. It provides a complete ERP solution for accounting, taxation from the manufacturing of goods from raw material to selling finished goods. **What do you dislike about Syspro?** Like any software, it has its strengths and weaknesses. It lacks some reporting features. It is Lil bit costly as compared to its competitors. Its user interface has some bugs, which can be a problem for some people. To complete a process, one needs to open multiple screen tabs, which can be a problem for some people. It is very simple and user-friendly software. It helps in making various reports on raw material, finished goods, goods in progress, sales, purchases, expenses, and taxation, which help in the smooth running of the business. You can hit the binocular icon to search more content, but then it brings up things that have nothing to do with what I'm trying to find. I wish there was a better way to narrow your search while using the binocular icon. While there are many programs available to attach to SYSPRO, we don't necessarily need them. I can use ODBC drivers to connect to the tables and pull whatever information I need. **What do you dislike about Syspro?** The reporting limits. SRS can be a little confusing if you're not familiar with Crystal reports. **Recommendations to others considering Syspro:** It might be a little overwhelming and frustrating at first but give it a chance and you will learn to love it. **What problems is Syspro solving and how is that benefiting you?** We don't have many business "problems," so to say, but we do use it for everything. For me, the benefit is how the information is stored. The background tables hold so much information, and with the ODBC connection to Access, we can pull the data into spreadsheets without SYSPRO's formatting and run calculations the way we want or need. ### 40. The ability to tailor screens or even produce new views is amazing. There is almost nothing syspro cannot do without a little elbow grease. **What do you dislike about Syspro?** User interface can sometimes be an issue for some. I believe less is more in most cases. Some times there is too much involved in screens that tend to get people confused. Having to open multiple screens to complete 1 process, and the lack of standard reporting. If you need reports there needs to be an onsite report building employee, or syspro has to do it for you. Customer support needs to be more stable. I have noticed that the timing of ticket resolution tends to be a bit long. In previous years we would get solutions to our issues pretty quickly, but recently it takes days to weeks for a response from the support team. I'm not sure if its out internal infrastructure or SYSPRO, but there are often times where out system is extremely slow. **Recommendations to others considering Syspro:** Train your employees well, and make sure they understand the ins and out of SYSPRO. Investing in the training is probably one of the KEY components to having the system run strong. Empower a group of employees or have an internal ERP manager for your business as the point person who will understand the flows, ins and outs of the system. It is important that you groom an employee to own it all. From Report Building to Custom views, will become the #1 ask from many a number of your employees so make sure there is someone there to own it. **What problems is Syspro solving and how is that benefiting you?** Transparent pricing on our SKU's, in previous years we would do all our standard pricing on an excel sheet. I now have the ability to price things directly in SYSPRO and share the output with my team. Not only that but able to show them every detail that is driving the cost of any individual item. ### 44. For the most part, it's easy for users to learn the system and perform duties. I also like that third-party systems such as Cadacus are available so we can capitalize on handheld scanners for inventory tasks, etc. Having all of our business lines, and departments in the same system is extremely beneficial. User management is pretty straightforward, being able to copy profiles to a new user is very helpful. **What do you dislike about Syspro?** The complexity of implementing changes. It's often difficult to add new features into the system. Cost is substantial but is also typical for any large ERP systems. I would like to see a good mobile-based client option as well. We have not upgraded to v8 as it's cumbersome, but will need to within the next year so we can utilize the new features such as integrated authentication with AD. The client install is also a very large package, it would be nice if it was smaller for an easier install - then depending on features needed, download supplemental packages for users. **What problems is Syspro solving and how is that benefiting you?** We are beginning the implementation of MOM module to address labor tracking (which is something that's not been present in the org before in Syspro). After the labor tracking, we will explore the other options available within MOM as well. We are also transitioning other field locations to utilize Syspro so that all inventory, processes, and controls are within the same system. ### 46. We rely on multiple other analytics tools that tap into Syspro data for analysis and visualization, as the modules in Syspro are difficult to use. **What problems is Syspro solving and how is that benefiting you?** As a legacy business, Syspro was our initial choice of ERP when moving from PeachTree in the 90's. That said, Syspro also has strong legacy roots, so they have grown with us. As we put more modules online, we find more and more benefits including on complex product costing. ### 48. This makes it easy for users to navigate a variety of modules. This also helps administrators customize the software because each module gets customized the same way. **What do you dislike about Syspro?** There are almost too many ways to customize the software. This software has been designed to handle workflow and business practices of many types of companies in many industries. As a result it can be easily customized to fit your needs. Unfortunately because it can be used in so many different ways, there are a lot of visible fields and settings that aren't relevant to every industry. It can take a lot of time to go through and clean up every window the users see so that they don't get lost. This is the same with the security settings. While parts of the security settings are grouped, it can take a lot of time to select which programs operators can access among other controls you have over operators. **What problems is Syspro solving and how is that benefiting you?** Our previous business software (Sage Business Vision) did not have anywhere near the same inventory management and work order capabilities. After switching to SYSPRO, we've had better visibility of where our inventory is and more functionality in creating work orders and jobs.
