**What do you like best about SSIS Integration Toolkit?**

The product is integrated with Visual Studio / BIDS really well, looks and feels like a standard feature, not something you install on top of the other products. It's simple and easy to use for most ETL tasks. The documentation is available and understandable, and the community support is decent.

**What do you dislike about SSIS Integration Toolkit?**

As the ETL task gets more complex and advanced, you use different approaches to use the tool to utilise it's flexibility, but this makes the tool and its usage harder to document and understand for other developers.

**Reviewed by:** MohanRaj K. | Employee, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** April 16, 2019

**What do you like best about SSIS Integration Toolkit?**

For parsing the data from different file formats into SQL server. For an example, we use it to extract data from XML, EDI and flat files.
For applying the custom business logic in the ETL process. These business logic can be built into functions, stored procedures and applied to SSIS packages.
Exception handling capabilities is one of the best feature and how it is able to show the module that threw up the exception by highlighting it in the red.

**What do you dislike about SSIS Integration Toolkit?**

Not sure if JSON support but if it support JSON, that would be one of the awesome feature! Basically, the ability to consume data from a JSON data set.
Microsoft built it for the SQL database, it would be awesome if we could be leverage for data ETL into other databases like MySQL and Oracle etc.

**What problems is SSIS Integration Toolkit solving and how is that benefiting you?**

This tool is used to import the data from source to target. In between we can do transformations as per our need. We are currently using the SSIS for imports of purchase orders. It can support multiple source systems like SKP, SFDC, Oracle etc.

**Official Response:**

> Hi Mohan, our software can support JSON and XML Processing.

With the SSIS JSON & XML Processing components found within OUR SSIS Productivity Pack, ETL developers can interact with JSON or XML data to integrate with virtually any application or data source.

Our JSON & XML Processing components make it easy to interact with JSON or XML data and support extracting from any REST-based API as well as perform RESTful or SOAP-based service calls.
