YouTube was not a great solution, as it is blocked on many school domains. Hosting and maintaining our own teacher video content made things much simpler for us to manage as a school. **What do you dislike about SproutVideo?** I do wish we could control some of the theming-- it might be because of the plan we are on, but I am not able to change the look and style of individual playlists. **What problems is SproutVideo solving and how is that benefiting you?** Sproutvideo allows us to manage and control all our own content---other video platforms that are commonly used in K12 education are inconsistent with how filtering solutions interact with them. Because we use Sproutvideo, we can control the interaction between our content filter and our videos-- which is not true if we used the most other common video platform in k12 education (YouTube). ### 5. I don't often have to visit support when I perform a task I haven't done before. Firstly I would like to have sharing links that allow for downloads. Secondly, I find the search function is not the best as you need to know what the title is. Just like any video hosting service, sometimes videos are a little slow to be served when embedded in a website, but we haven't experienced any major outages. **What problems is SproutVideo solving and how is that benefiting you?** We use Sprout to serve videos to our members-only probate data service. It has obvious advantages over using YouTube or Vimeo for this purpose since you have full control of your content, and we can protect our intellectual property right better. Unfortunately, the portal isn't set up with this function so I have to generate the reports manually. It used to take me 15-30 minutes to download each individual video report however, Sprout recently made it much easier and faster to get the information. Now, I only take about 5 minutes. In addition, it would be great if Sprout offered an unlimited bandwidth option. We are currently over the limit so we need to pay an additional amount each month. As such, they advertise features such as lead tracking and SEO, with an obvious goal of helping you get as many views as possible and track those views. In that sense, Sprout is pretty similar to any other video hosting service on the market. However, I was looking for something different. I wanted a video hosting solution that I could use to post tutorial videos on our online help site. We did not want them to be public or "unlisted," where you need the link to be able to view them, but anyone with the link can view them. We wanted them to be played only where we embed them, and nowhere else. This is the differentiator with Sprout Video. When you set the security of a video to "private," you can embed it anywhere, and it can be viewed only there. If someone gets their hands on the link, they can't view it from the link URL. This is why I chose Sprout for my company. **What do you dislike about SproutVideo?** We have not encountered any negatives with Sprout Video.
