I am not sure which platform it's made on but it looks robust. **What do you dislike about Avidemux?** There is no such thing to dislike as of now but I had some issues with 3gp format videos, however I was able to do the job after changing the format and since it was kind of free version i used i did not had much expectations. **What problems is Avidemux solving and how is that benefiting you?** I think obvious answer would be for video editing however when it comes to a particular project you are working on its really vast and the kind of options I got was amazing great GUI, large list for formats, amazing effects and avaibke for different portals like windows and Mac as well. I have been searching for video editing software for quite a long time that can fulfill my requirements, and that is what I found in Avidemux. The best part is it's easy to use (I don't know for others, but definitely for me). It simplifies video processing tasks. **What do you dislike about Avidemux?** Not so far. I am not sure what can be added in this additionally but so far the best among others for me. Developers may work on better transcoding I guess else its perfect in all aspects. **What problems is Avidemux solving and how is that benefiting you?** Firstly, the user interface is perfect for me. I have seen with other video editors that they look like some video game-like interface. But this one is perfect. There is certainly other software that I use when I'm doing professional video editing, but nothing beats Avidemux for quick cutting or recoding of videos. You can use it to easily extract audio tracks that you need to edit separately. You can export the final video in the most commonly used formats. To speed up the exporting, you can also easily set the process priority during the process. For the most part, the tool isn't really anything you wouldn't have in a heavier system like Premier or After Effects, but its also substantially cheaper. I use it mostly to change the file type of a video file or change to codecs. It also allows some basic edits and changes which are helpful for clipping a few seconds off a spot or resizing the frame for a certain purpose. **What do you dislike about Avidemux?** The GUI is pretty basic and is pretty hard to understand. There's a lot of options available that don't make sense unless you know what you're doing. (And I suspect if you know what you're doing with many of these options you probably use one of the professional video editing suites.) The actual edits you can make are pretty simple (crop, shift, etc.), so it really is only useful for decoding a video file, not as a full video editor. **Recommendations to others considering Avidemux:** Avidemux is free so there's not much risk in trying it out. But, if you have better video editing software that can reformat your videos, stick with that. However, if you don't have the budget (or skill) to use Adobe CC or other editing software, then consider Avidemux to help speed along your work flow. **What problems is Avidemux solving and how is that benefiting you?** Some video files we receive are coded with the wrong audio codecs or are saved in the wrong file type (Usually .mov, .qt, .m4v). Rather than sending the video file back for re-edits or send it to Creative to have them re-format the video before using it on Social or in Web Design, we use Avidemux to reformat the video for use. ### 16.
