When coding, you are building something. It makes sense to build out a project with blocks rather than words. Puzzles system is very understandable for creating interactive applications. Also, the dev team is very friendly and very reactive, when you need help. The system is local, not streamed, so it is not laggy when used, even on mobile / pads. **What do you dislike about Verge3D?** The limitation is more from gltf / webGL compatibility, and from apple / android for AR stuff. Some confort behavior could be made in the puzzles interface, but this is not blocking, just time saving features that i would like to see implemented. **What problems is Verge3D solving and how is that benefiting you?** Again, the puzzles system fits perfectly my needs : i can understand the logic of code, but i don't know the code itself. Verge3D let me create 3D applications without the need of learning any code language. ### 3. It allows me to work quickly and independently without the barrier of relying on a programmer. The immediate one-click publishing on the web using the Verge3D network is excellent for previewing work for clients quickly and easily. Amazing supports from the team. The tutorials are so darn complete and easy to follow. Questions are answered in the forum by the team at lightspeed. **What do you dislike about Verge3D?** Nothing really! So far so good. I am satisfied as of now. **What problems is Verge3D solving and how is that benefiting you?** The best thing is that I can work 2 in 1 as both a 3D artist + coder. This way, I can rapidly test and tweak my project both on the art side and the coding side at the same time. With the PBR-based rendering, we were able to improve the visual quality, and the direct export allows us very quick iterations. By using the v3d.js package in our webApp, we have the powerful and reliable threejs base to build our applications. - v3d expands on threejs, that has many features, code examples, help aviable - as an addition, any material/object/scene build in blender is exported and recreated in the web application. this allows us to create many visual effects, complex scenes, etc. in blender. then bring them into the webapp with a click. - quick technical support via the forums or mail - we are not using the included project manager / puzzles, as we have our own code base here. integration into our existing system was not an issue. **What do you dislike about Verge3D?** There are minor issues / possible improvements - load times can be slow with larger data sets, and there is no buildt-in solution for LOD loading / post-loading textures / post-compiling shaders. there is somehow, the possibility to build these yourself. - not all eevee features are supported, p.e. tonemapping is only partially supported, ssao and ssr are not as good. but these would likely not be performant for webapps anyway. - small inconsistencies with the eevee viewport can be found. these are on very specific applications/shaders (p.e. gamma value on a mix shader), and can be worked around. the developers are also reasonably quick to fix them, if reported. **Recommendations to others considering Verge3D:** comparing to other products: - pure threejs: v3d offers many useful feature on top, like the export of the shaders, etc. The improvement is surely worth it. - blend4web: we used this is in the past. but the support of blender 2.8+ and PBR has made us switch to v3d. v3d also has more API possibilites by beeing based on three - there are not that many other, viable solutions out there. **What problems is Verge3D solving and how is that benefiting you?** - we create runtime 3D applications for our customers. from configurators, to portfolio presentations. - quick & reliable iteration loops, from 3d software into the webApp ### 7. I think the platform will only get better as it has a very active & responsive development team - I'm looking forward to more features! **Recommendations to others considering Verge3D:** Go through the starter tutorials on Youtube, and refer to documentation when you're building your first app, you'll be flying in no time. **What problems is Verge3D solving and how is that benefiting you?** This software helps the company I work at cross the language barrier between developer & artist - we can now work together on puzzles & 3D scenes, improving out project outcomes, it also empowers one person to complete essentially two-three different job scopes. ### 8. If there is a question or an issue from any member of the Verge3D community, the team responds very quickly and clearly. **What do you dislike about Verge3D?** This is a difficult question. Early versions of the Verge3D solution did lack some critical functionality that my team needed, but the Verge3D developers quickly added this functionality (dynamic loading, custom loading screens, more puzzles, etc.). One of my biggest challenges now is just keeping up with their rapid release schedule. **Recommendations to others considering Verge3D:** When looking for a dynamic 3D web solution, consider the solution's ability to implement your business logic. These days, it is not enough to just have static 3D objects on the web. Products should be able to change shape and size. They should be able to move and illuminate. They need to be driven by customer requirements and update instantly. Many other solutions require coding to achieve this if they can support it at all, but Verge3D enables all of this though a puzzle-driven no-code environment. **What problems is Verge3D solving and how is that benefiting you?** We needed a solution to create dynamic 3D web content for our clients. We needed a solution that did not require much coding and a solution that clients might also be able to use. Dynamic 3D web content drives sales for our clients and that is exactly what Verge3D is doing for them. ### 9. Amazingly userfriendly. If you have a good 3D model and you want to prepare a nice interaction for the Web, the options of VERGE 3D are very rich, allowing the preparation of simple or complex applications to make the best of your 3d models. **What do you dislike about Verge3D?** The correction of bugs and features are made on a weekly basis. This way there are not many thing that we can dislike. **Recommendations to others considering Verge3D:** The best package available to prepare 3D content for the web. **What problems is Verge3D solving and how is that benefiting you?** I'm preparing educational materials based on 3D models. Verge 3D allowed me to add rich interactive features that are not easily achievable in any present package. I was using Sketchfab for simple interactions but the subscription price is high and the interaction is very limited. Verge 3D is more flexible, has almost limitless possibilities to prepare interactions with 3D models and there are no size limits for your online material. ### 11. Their support forum is kinda ok. They don't answer your every question but usually you can find entry level problems solving methods in forum. **What do you dislike about Verge3D?** Freelancer license is not for complex projects. For complex projects you need to buy enterprice license and you need to have good code knowledge. This software is based on three.js library and it's puzzle system is just a scratch of three.js. You can construct entry level scenes with puzzles but you cannot do most of the features of three.js examples site showed on with puzzles so at this point you will struggle, most of your designs can't go live because of that. When you try to solve those complex problems, verge3d authors try to sell you Tech Support and Consulting Plan. For example you made a basic room with some objects in it and wanted to add simple lensflare, there is no lensflare puzzle and you cannot add without some good code knowledge. I hope they add most of the three.js features on puzzle system in near future... **What problems is Verge3D solving and how is that benefiting you?** I'm a 3D artist and using it for my 3D scenes to move to web interface. verge3d is easy to use for basic projects and fast results. ### 16.
